75 per cent of the genes that cause disease in humans are also found in the fruit fly. Drosophila have a short, simple reproduction cycle. It is normally about 8-14 days, depending on the environmental temperature. This means that several generations can be observed in a matter of months.Jul 21, 2021
Seeking to develop further World Univ & Sch scientific research, and regarding aging reversal and longevity genetic drug therapies. In yesterday's blog post, at top now, I explore these questions further - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/05/western-honey-bee-immortal-drosophila.html (Western honey bee: Thnx for chicken pics! Immortal drosophila fly genetically, & 5 other species ? What genes to add, Harvard and MIT Prof of Genetics' @GeoChurch, ... to 6 species for physical-digital experiments especially?)
... and much more regarding an inquiry to Wikimedians regarding an upcoming Ghana World Univ & Sch university in the Dagbani language - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Ghana - as a new WUaS Wikibase.cloud instance, and also potentially in WUaS developing a world class WUaS Dagbani language university library, and coming into conversation with the great DNB.de - German National Library Wikibase.cloud instance. The inquiry to 2 Wikimedians also includes a question about how, for example, a reader in another country could access a list of books in the DNB.de - German National Library - that are ACTUALLY READABLE online from home (so, in German) ... and potentially regarding how a reader in another country than GHANA could access a list of ACTUALLY READABLE books in the Dagbani language ... and which books even might be translatable into your language, Universitians, with machine learning and machine translation, and navigate successfully UNLOCKING, regarding copyright law in any given country, the possibility to read complete library books online from home. There's a potential here for World Univ & Sch's planned ~200 online university world class libraries, for our matriculating students and for all 7.9 billion Universitians, to access reading full books in one country's WUaS university library (e.g. Ghana WUaS Libraries) - which otherwise might not be accessible in another country's university library due to the copyright laws of the country - and due to the DISTRIBUTED networking technologies in all 200 countries, and here also regarding these 200 distributed countries' legal systems (and also for the WUaS law schools planned in all 200 countries and in their main languages, to define and write some of the law further:).

I'd like to introduce you all to Ed Smyth MD, the new Chief Medical Officer at World Univ & Sch (written on the state of California's 2 statements of Information WUaS forms, the SI 100 and the SI 550, for the nonprofit World Univ & Sch, and the for-profit WUaS Corp Press ... in all ~200 countries). Ed is also a founding WUaS Board Member, but long ago stopped being on the WUaS Board - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Foundation - and you can see on his LinkedIn profile here that he seems to be in the Permanente Medical Group now, having retired from the Kaiser Permanente health organization as an internal medicine MD last year. Ed lives with his family, his wife, and 3 children in Berkeley. (And Larry Viehland is the CFO and I'm the CEO on these forms, FYI too)

The WUaS migration journey to Wikibase.cloud is supposed to be complete by tomorrow! Incredible, and thank you! This should make it possible for WUaS to create, for example ~200 worldclass online universities' libraries and with Wikibase.cloud instance ... and in countries' main languages, potentially building on the astounding German National LIbrary wikibase.cloud instance.
In WUaS Monthly Business Meeting on Saturday 5/21/22, Larry asked how someone (especially from another country) could actually read a book in the German National Library (regarding copyright, and public libraries and matriculating students), and while it looks like many books are readable online (and see what the German National Library, Deutsche Nationalbibliothek, has to say about this here - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/05/lazuli-bunting.html - and some of the searches I've done so far), how, Wikimedians, could I search for a list of all the online READABLE books from the USA - and actually read some of these books, or papers, online from home? I wasn't successful regarding these latter searches. Want to explore for yourself (and academically your own questions and per this extensive national library collection - https://www.dnb.de/EN/Home/home_node.html ?)
Also, have added a Lego robotics' component to this FREE HEAT, (and FREE COOLING eg https://youtu.be/2Qh14pX3IxA), solar air heater ... and a possible near product for design, manufacture, and carrying in the WUaS Educational Services' stores (re the WUaS Corp) ...
Interesting to see the people that travelled to Limantour beach yesterday afternoon. It was pleasant weather inland but very windy and cool yet sunny on the beach. They were a wide array of very diverse SF Bay Area folks.
Two couples toward the end come to mind. One, a dark haired, curly too, man, with a blond haired woman, both walking barefoot back to leave, both perhaps in later mid 20s ... a couple getting to know each other? A pair forming? (I have dark curly hair sometimes). A model for me? The second couple I met by the sign which predicted 12 feet of ocean rising by 2300, and 3 feet by 2100 (from the National Park Service US Department of the Interior). She was quite a bit taller than him, both possibly in their mid 50s, and he was possibly from China (or Taiwan) and she could have had roots in Armenia or similar... I think they were acquaintances and possibly not dating for example (but who knows ... they were pretty different from one another in some ways). When I pointed out the extreme predictions (I think 2-10 inches of sea level rising by 2100 might still be a reasonable prediction - which is a lot!) and in chatting briefly with them, he suggested visiting another inlet just north on the park service map, but by a different road.
As I seek a life partner, someone I may never have met before, here in California (or possibly in October at a Shady Side Academy homecoming reunion) ... the first couple could be an example of connecting with her (just from what I observed of them). A walk to the beach together, shoes off, exploring the world together at Pt. Reyes in the SF Bay Area.
(from texting...)
Out here at the end of the Limantour Rd in beautiful Pt Reyes National Seashore ... Walked along an inner path with stellar inland waterway ... Pelican pairs and egrets too I think ... Headed out to the grand Pacific Ocean just past an interesting blue hammock (left by someone for everyone's enjoyment?) between 2 windblown sturdy pine trees flapping around like a Spinnaker sail not completely filled with the wind from behind, but I didn't choose to lie in it ... Saw a sign upon leaving from National Park Service predicting a 12 foot rise in ocean level by 2300 (attached to come) ... Later and like a sail, I opened my welcome wind breaker jacket beach-walking south on Limantour strand, the vast Pacific ocean on my right, holding my jacket out to sides to catch the wind from the North from behind me ... And almost achieved lift off to flight ... As this sail brought me into a free form jog :) ...
.... Earlier I almost 'floated' driving in on the beautiful road through a very beautiful, illuminated in a lovely afternoon light, landscape - all the way in - first to Swing low Sweet chariot, then to Beethoven's 7th (a most beautiful part of it) ... Almost a kind of trip in this very beautiful national seashore:) Glad you are doing well and that Ed is 'still alive,' ... thinking about you... Hoping you had a good weekend and Sunday and have a great week - Scott

This phone camera doesn't take decent shots of people but nice ones of nature
Hi Ma from near the Visitor center of Pt Reyes National Seashore area ... The last long text I sent you was an embellishment on a text message to Ed ... And I am not entirely sure what Ed means by 'still alive' but he also texted weeks ago that someone else has a strong mind ... meaning possibly violent? ... a woman in the SF QUAKER MEETING a.s.? I think Ed is fine ... And am glad he's text messaged me that moving back into Canyon again is happening (perhaps if 2 violent-minded people are contained??? t.w. (who may have harmed many people) and a.s., and also regarding the latent networks of violence in the illegal drug and sex industries?) ... Love you , and abolitionally, Scott (just texting a clarification);... It's an hour back to the 'unsafe house' (if t.w. is still at large, I hypothesize) north of Berkeley ... Scott
The wind was pretty strong from the north on Limantour beach (circling clockwise around the Pacific Rim - it's good to take long bicycle journeys south through California with the wind at one's back). I'd guesstimate that it was 18-20 knots (where 12 knot winds in the Cuttyhunk harbor outside the Cuttyhunk pond in the 1970s was perfect sailing weather in Lasers and Bullseye sailboats ... I searched online for accurate information about how fast was the wind blowing from Drake's bay to Limantour beach this afternoon in Pt Reyes National Seashore but nothing came up ... Wind was strong on the beach and just a little bit stronger than behind the dunes and next to the beautiful inland waterway, Ma:)
Am still amazed Ed Smyth MD said that my moving back into Canyon again is happening ...
"Glad Ed wrote a few weeks ago that my moving back into Canyon 94516 is happening ... and it seems like this will be around August 1, 2022
Ed's texts from Tu 4\5\22 -
"Wow, I think I've been in a state of denial.
It's happening!
Let me know if you want a hand with the move.."
I still can't quite believe that it's happening ... but am glad for the opportunity, and for World Univ & Sch and the WUaS Corp & Academic Press to grow ! "
And I wonder whom I might meet to live with there and begin a family with too. A MD Mom to be could be great to meet and get to know.
Love, Scott
