Perhaps I was studying at Fettes College in Scotland, which I did in between my 11th and 12th grade at SSA, if you could have taken the pictures then. I also don't recall going on many SSA backpacking trips, maybe 1 big one in WV and a few smaller ones ... it would be great to see your pictures for bringing back memories . . and even in a wiki-communal #RealisticVirtualEarthForHistory ... and think #GStreetView with #TimeSlider :)

The mention of William Sonoma on Walnut Street caught my attention... right up there with ending poverty and a global single currency!
My wife Brenda and I live a short stroll from the original William Sonoma store in the little wine country town of Sonoma. Will be heading over that way soon as part of a nice Sunday walk.

(it only takes a single neuron to fire to stimulate a memory, I learned from a Yale-trained family MD friend, who may have studies this experimentally in a biology of memory course at Yale potentially ... and interesting to explore in this conversation REMEMBERING our Shady Side Academy friendships in the 2nd half of the 1970s ... and how conversation helps ... So great to talk with you yesterday, Mike (first time since the 1970s I think)! Which backpacking trips did we go on together? A SSA trip to the Dolly Sods in WV with Mr. Thorpe in the backpacking club? I'm trying to recall ... who else here recalls? (I remember Henry, Greg and I and Henry's sister Elizabeth took a backpacking trip to the Dolly Sods, not on a school trip).
When we talked, I was soaking wet having hiked in pouring rain in pouring rain in Moon township - Log Cabin, Christmas Fern, Ridgeback, East Beech on AllTrails
