World University and School ~ free-to-students :)
Possibly as much as 90% of the American public is educated through the high school level through American public education. In many European countries, for example, in the German-speaking countries, the university educational system, as well as Gymnasium-level (academically-focused high school), as well as much of the rest of the teaching and learning system, education is free.
World University and School, - like Wikipedia with MIT Open Course Ware, where anyone can post teaching and learning videos to the web, and interactivity can happen in virtual worlds, like Second Life - is free. WUaS will potentially be in all languages, subjects, nation-states, and levels, and will benefit so many people, - thanks to the internet.
An alternative, high quality approach to costly education and learning would be so helpful in the world today ... in so, so many ways. With WUaS you should be able to access on the internet what you need to know ...

World University and School Learning Corps
World University and School Learning Corps for the One Laptop per Child Countries, especially, seems like a great idea, too.
A corp of young people could bring video-capable mobile phone devices to Rwanda, Ethiopia, Colombia, Haiti, Mexico, Peru, USA (Birmingham, Alabama), Uruguay, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Cambodia, & Papua New Guinea, bring and distribute hardware (like internet and video-capable handhelds and OLPC's, and show people how to use them, literate or illiterate, as well as how to post {teach} and learn vis-a-vis WUaS's Wiki. This sounds like fun travel, and great work.
Geek squads ...

World University and School will potentially transform how ideas are exchanged around the world, and could lead to a renaissance of learning and teaching, and information exchange ... over the internet ... making teaching and learning fun. Add what you'd like to teach in the way, you'd like to teach it to ~ worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/World_University
