Purple Desert Flowers: World University & School summary with some key links for further conversation

Dear Friends,

I'm writing to keep you informed about World University and School, as it develops.

Here are some reference links for a recent World University and School competition entry, a recent WUaS grant, and consensus decision-making as process vis-a-vis WUaS.

MacArthur HASTAC competition entry link:
scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2010/04/world-univ-sch-competition-entry.html - April 1, 2010
(WUaS has entered this competition for two years).

HP Open Innovation Lab grant link:

Here's how consensus decision-making works vis-a-vis World University & School:
scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2009/09/orangutan-in-water-consensus-decision.html - September 18, 2009

I also have in mind Wikipedia, Google, the American Friends Service Committee and great Universities for examples of structure and decision-making. WUaS is like Wikipedia with MIT Open Course Ware and UC Berkeley Webcasts.

The WUaS Master plan is here:
worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Master_Plan (as well as the WUaS Foundation page with links to the Business Plan: worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/World_University_Foundation). WUaS continues to focus on accreditation in 2012 and matriculating classes in 2014, ideally through partnering with great universities, - and with resources needed now, but with resources coming in more likely after WUaS gets 501 (c) 3 status.

Did you see the recent New York Time's article about Open Course Ware:
nytimes.com/2010/03/31/education/31iht-riedopen.html. World University lists and links all of the content mentioned in this article, - now for tagging and labeling as we develop the wiki technically.

This email is a WUaS summary with some key links for further conversation. World University & School's wiki is growing. Let's make the open, free, "edit this page" World University & School flourish.

Sincerely,
Scott
