World University & School ... An open, free, interactive Stanford in your home?

... in virtual worlds, - with all the jumpin', jivin' software that's ahead
... or on your laptop anywhere in the world?

S.F.'s de Young museum isn't accessible in a virtual world, yet ... here, for example, at World University & School's Museum page http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Museums (with hopefully all museums with significant online content - anyone can add one - please do), ... your city has museum free days, n'est-ce pas, too? :)
I'm excited by the possiblity of exploring UNESCO World Heritage Sites in virtual worlds, where I might enter into great interactive simulacras like the Pyramids, or even Independence Hall in Philadelphia ... here at WUaS Museums http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Museums
For example, I've seen a very beginning Alhambra in SL with great tile work, but such representations can, and will, become even more remarkable and even trippy :)
MacLeod Pacific Region (friend):
I did one of those online tours of a museum...a bit confusing and not as cool as I had hoped. If you ever watched Bones, there was a great ep where a character created a virtual tour of the Louvre for a dying girl...off topic, but hey.
Scott:
The Mont St. Michel (in Normandie between France and England) in Second Life is so-so but these beginnings of virtual place are great in the big picture. :)

Scott:
it's a FREE DAY at the de Young museum in the Golden Gate Park, I think
Friend in NYC:
That would be great if there was a free plane ticket!

Friend in NYC:
Yes, but I miss Swan's Oyster Depot too!
