And I'd like to see these electric bicycles rated in Consumer Reports or similar ...

When I tried riding a few electric bicycles I found in San Francisco bicycle stores about 9 months ago, I enjoyed
Juiced electric bicycles
as most comfortable -

Kalkhoff electric bicycles
as potentially the best designed for durability and road-worthiness, with potentially the best-designed battery, but not comfortable enough -

I'd like to be able to ride on an electric bicycle from where I live in the east bay hills of the SF Bay area (in Canyon) over Skyline Drive and into SF, over multiple hills and back, and with full back and front panniers and as a nearly 6'4" tall person weighing nearly 200 pounds, with ease and enough battery power, and float up the last hill to where I live.

I road with a ZAP electric motor (like this: http://www.electricscooterparts.com/images1/zapkitdx200.jpg) on my Schwinn Voyageur 18 speed touring bicycle for many years while living in SF in the 1990s (while teaching yoga), and because I lived near the top of Market Street, but the battery didn't have enough power to get back up Market Street to my home at the end of the day.
*
I was also riding out of a Friendly/Quakerly concern about reversing climate change.
