Hi Ed,
Nice to share a meal together at Cafe Roma, and thanks for the very delicious sweet bread!
Here are some Venice virtual world resources for you and re your upcoming trip:
Your kids might enjoy these especially.
Am curious how soon we'll be able to ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy our own tours (video narratives of a place we're visiting) into Google Street View with TIME SLIDER - or a docent's in Italy (in English or Italian), or an historian's description of a map of Venice, for example from the 1400s, and have this become animated interactively - either realistically (based on evidence - eg this building was standing then, the people were this tall, and wore these clothes, and talked/wrote in this manner) or fantastically ... as in this is what I think they lived like, or I'd like to tell a story with these 3D tools (e.g. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings) ... and also so I as a scholar could access some of these ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy for research. (If Harbin films from the 1970s exist, could we convert these into 3D interactive virtual worlds, and interact with folks then, the film-into-interactivity being an example or what I'd like to access for research). ... Both Venice and Harbin have some ... "THEY DID WHAT? ... and sexually too I think, for example (and hippies can be, are and were so interesting) ... in their histories ... which can make them really interesting to think about ... and even more so, conceptually, in an interactive 3D realistic virtual world with time slider).
Here's the poet Avotcja with a poem I like ...
and which I mentioned to you last night - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2015/01/west-indian-manatee-with-calf-well-met.html.
