Hi M,

Found an email I sent you August 11, 2017 which seems viola-relevant :

"Thank you, M, my viola!

Cello here. So both wings of WUaS might benefit with a scheduler or executive director, including my day job tutoring for WUaS's academic side ... is one inference I make from your thoughtful email and ideas - Especially re finding a partner. Thank you.

Susan emailed yesterday about some of this ... and what she wrote makes sense, knowing me ...

"I'm not sure how you can best find a partner/wife/etc. I think so much of meeting people is serendipitous, though you can't meet someone if you're not out running into people. I would aim for the "friend" level first - don't be looking for a mom-to-be, at least not overtly saying so, unless she is also looking for that! There is always adoption or fostering a child, too, or finding someone who already has little kids, and may or may not want more. I guess be open to the possibilities that love and relationships may take different paths for all of us."

...

Will re-read your email again soon ... Much day work ahead with WUaS .and book writing - violins' wise. Thanks for your email ..."

Are you a viola metaphorically and I perhaps a cello? How to find a violin of a friend / partner / wife / mom-to-be, I wonder?

L,

Scott

Hi M,

Here's the beginning World_University_Music_School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Music_School - before WUaS connects these WUaS Miraheze MediaWiki wiki "front end" pages with our "back end" Wikidata / Wikibase structured knowledge database (Wiipedia's too) in ~ 300 languages.

And here's the Viola wiki subject - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Viola - to give you an idea of how a wiki page at WUaS is structured. Potentially there would be courses for matriculating online viola students in the A) top 1/3 of the page, paralleling MIT OCW (https://ocw.mit.edu), e.g. https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/music-and-theater-arts/ courses (and eventually both for credit, and simple open perusal) - and B) sections where people can teach to WUaS by adding, for example, a video of a specific instance of viola instruction, or a Youtube of a great viola performance which might also be instructional as well as inspiring, or an inspiring book, etc. and C) "Navigation."

And here, by the way, is the free downloadable Muse Score, the music composition software I mentioned - https://musescore.org/ ... Now how to add a PDF of a piece of Scottish Country Dance sheet music not in a key (or in the range for the chanter) of the Scottish small pipes (A Mixolydian) and then possibly even 'hack' MuseScore such that I could generate a good setting of said SCD sheet music playable on Scottish small pipes, and with The Open Band - https://twitter.com/TheOpenBand - brainstorming-wise? :)

You might be interested in this wiki page as it develops - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Assistive_Technologies - as well as possible online Ph.D. degrees planned, as WUaS begins to accredit first with the state of California. WUaS would like to code for every assistive technology 'under the sun' as we grow ... and potentially for speakers of all 7,097 living languages, as well.

Looking forward to communicating further about some of what we talked about on Christmas eve, and very nice to meet you as well!

Happy 2019 (and here's my Season's Greetings' letter plus blog - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/12/armeria-maritima-seasons-greetings-2018.html - also attached).

With very best wishes, Scott

Thanks, M,

Just found a Doctor of Viola degree at Juilliard - https://www.juilliard.edu/music/instruments/strings/viola/viola-doctor-musical-arts (brainstorming-wise re World Univ. and Sch.) - and Tweeted about some of this as well -

https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch/status/1080557639086546944.

Happy 2019, and happy chamber music - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Chamber_Music (there are some great chamber music videos posted here already, albeit just a few) ! Could be creative to begin an online chamber music series by extraordinary musicians too ... and even somehow interactively in Google group video Hangouts, for example, with computer applications, for learners :)

Best regards, Scott
