Thanks, Everybody! Was excited to learn how Scratch 3.0 works newly with Lego Robotics' WeDo 2.0 - re running the motor through the smarthub and the Scratch Sprite, and especially the multiple languages that are possible now with the Scratch 3.0 extension for Lego robotics - Wow. Thanks, Irene, for letting me try this on your Apple 0S 10.13 machine (and for your great knowledge and helpfulness as well)! ... Thanks too to High School group break out session ... Excited to explore conceptually developing I.B. high school diploma in many languages - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/WUaS_International_Baccalaureate_Diploma_and_Programme - with even Home Robotics - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Robotics - as a way to learn programming - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Programming - and CS.

Thanks so, so much Irene,
Thanks for letting me try Scratch 3.0 with WeDo 2.0 newly on your Apple 0S 10.13 machine (and for your great knowledge and helpfulness as well)! And wonderful to meet you!
Was excited to learn how Scratch 3.0 works with Lego Robotics' WeDo 2.0 - re running the motor through the smarthub and the Scratch Sprite, and especially the multiple languages block-wise that are possible now with the Scratch 3.0 extension for Lego robotics work - Wow. ...

Thanks for this Middle School curriculum, and do you know of any emergent high school curriculum that might be adaptable, and extended into many languages.
Also, in what ways, from your perspective of working with Middle Schoolers, and depending on need and interest within the SF Unified School District (or from parents) do you think some students bound for high school might benefit from free-to-students' online high school (potentially IB) from the School District at World University and School as this emerges?
Thank you again! :) :)
Best regards, Scott

Hi All,
Very nice to meet you.
Am interested too in focusing creating a realistic virtual earth (at street view, cellular and atomic levels) in something like Google Street View / Brick Street View -
https://www.digitaltrends.com/ cool-tech/brick-street-view- turns-google-maps-into-lego/ - and which therefore would work with Lego and with Scratch for actual-virtual physical-digital direct correspondence.
How soon will be able to add a video of your actual butterfly https://twitter.com/ken_ hawthorn/status/ 1083856273160863745 & convert it with a #FilmTo3D App, into a #RealisticVirtualEarth - maybe even to Lego Robotics' scale - & then begin to code it with Scratch 3.0? Looking forward to hearing from you. (Check out the rest of this thread as well).
Appreciating the MeetUp and opportunity to Hangout together actually ... thanks Scratch Meet Up (think there might be potential for online Scratch 3.0 MeetUps and with Lego robotics as well - in a variety of ways, and esp. if structured well - appreciating too Google 'structuring' :)

Hi Irene, Brendan, Greg, Parisa, Ken, Alexa and Karen,
(am re-sending with Greg's correct email address, I think, and adding Alexa and Karen), ....
It would be great to explore with Scratch 3.0 generating an alternative to this Advanced Placement Computer Science High School AP test -
https://apcentral. collegeboard.org/pdf/ap- computer-science-a-course- description.pdf (see the Topic Outline here).
and perhaps by opening a way for innumerable students to matriculate at accrediting World University and School .
Is there another way? Karen? Alexa? Parisa? Others? And especially for kids who might want to major in Computer Science at the College level (and re MIT OpenCourseWare or not). Will / could Scratch 10.0 change this dynamic and play a key role in creating an alternative?
Very nice to meet and talk with you today at the Scratch 3 MeetUp.

hi -
my 2 cents here.
scratch us a great way to get kids interested in coding.
but if you truly want an AP
class
you need to use an industry standard coding language.
as they need to learn the syntax, coding strategies and structures as a real programmer would.
pick a language like python or java or c++.
scratch is great , but not AP worthy.
Greg

Awesome, thanks, Greg!
(Am curious re the multiple languages WUaS seeks to teach Computer Science - building from MIT OCW in 5 - where not everyone is going to learn English to learn python, what might emerge out of MIT with Scratch + ... and re getting into industry )
Are your students taking the AP CS exam en masse?
Regards, Scott
