Thank you very much for these great St. Andrews' Day events online at Fettes. I attended two, at 4:20 am Pacific Time, with the Head of School Helen Harrison (and Karen Jones), and at 10:15am in the SF Bay Area; had registered concurrently for an University of Edinburgh Medical School Debate at 10 am PT, but that wasn't accessible live, and apparently Edinburgh Univ will send a recording of this as well. (I also studied at the University of Edinburgh in 2003-04 for a year in the School of Celtic and Scottish Studies, like at Fettes in 1977-78 for a year). Has anyone interviewed George Preston (my old housemaster in Kimmerghame) in a systematic way, since he would know so much which might emerge in new ways in conversation? :)

In addition, Karen and Craig, am curious how the record "Blind Faith," and simlar great rock & roll music, has been 'heard' by Fettes students since it was first released in around 1970, as a novel question in ethnomusicology -

This time period (the 1960s and '70s) is an academic and anthropological interest of mine as well.

It would be great to explore any recordings of these Fettes St. Andrew's Day events with a Film-To-3D App not yet created into a single realistic virtual earth for history, and even with avatar bots :).

(Craig, All, I think the forebears of bearing my parents' last names came from Scotland: with a James Edward MacLeod (son of Norman MacLeod of Isle of Raasay) emigrating to PEI Canada possibly in the 1820s, and a James Archibald Brown emigrating from Scotland, possibly to NYC, and then Vinton Iowa, in the 1840s. My father's name was also Gordon Kenneth MacLeod MD, and my mother's name is Janet Kirkibride Brown MacLeod.
