Starting a new Tamil language World University and School for Tamil Nadu-ans, in Tamil, and thanks to Prasanth in Madurai, south India
Perhaps you've noted here for example - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/12/tussilago-farfara-coltsfoot.html - that WUaS educational approach has 2 sides to it:
1) free to students' DEGREES - with students taking MIT OCW and NEWLY edX courses, as WUaS licensing with BPPE and accredits with WASC senior
2) WUaS is a free wiki, for open teaching and learning, where you or I can add free high quality courses, and teaching resources to our WUaS wikis - and eventually in Tamil, in French, in Arabic - now in English. But these resources, like Youtube videos you created teaching something in Tamil about Electronics' engineering, or free books like the ones you shared - or Coursera+Khan Academy courses - would NOT be for credit, toward WUaS free degrees.
There are a number of ways to add discussions, for example to a WUaS wiki subject page - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Academic_Freedom_Studies - for example this subheading, which will be translated into potentially all 7,117 known living languages -
2.13 Select Conversations / Dialogues / Idea Competitions
- and which will be added to all WIKI subjects via - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/SUBJECT_TEMPLATE - and with artificial intelligence too,
- so that, for example, you could start a Google group with a group of WUaS students, or a Twitter conversation
I can see a number of directions that World Univ & Sch would head in with regarding to developing WUaS in the Tamil language:
1 Supporting scientific papers that are written in Tamil - perhaps in a Google Scholar sort of way
2 Creating online university and school on both sides (for degrees and as wiki schools) - and on WUaS platforms as they develop
3 Translation from many languages into Tamil language by developing the machine translation, both for poetry and STEM
*
So Prasanth, entering a WUaS PhD program would involve your taking some edX courses (and not research) this summer - if and as WUaS proceeds with partnering with edX - to prepare you for entering this PhD program, and candidacy, in your major, and Imad, probably some Computer Science undergraduate courses

Imad, do you happen to have a resume you could send as well please, as WUaS seeks to plan for our Ph.D. program. Thank you!

Hi Prasanth and Imad,
Thank you for your resumes, and your STEM focuses!
Prasanth, thank you for your question too in LI:
What are the research works done in the EECS field at MIT College? I want to apply for an undergraduate course this year.
https://www.quora.com/unanswered/What-are-the-research-works-done-in-the-EECS-field-at-MIT-College-I-want-to-apply-for-an-undergraduate-course-this-year?ch=99&share=2f287eeb&srid=SYOm
As you know, Prasanth, from my correspondence with Imad -
https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/12/tussilago-farfara-coltsfoot.html (please read this fairly closely, Prasanth) - CC-4 MIT OCW-centric World Univ & Sch (and while WUaS can adapt the CC-4 MIT OCW COURSEWARE, WUaS can't use the MIT name, in outreach for ex.) is in the process of partnering with edX, which was founded by MIT and Harvard, and MIT Prof of EECS and edX CEO Anant Agarwal (and to be clear WUaS is not MIT).
Since you both have expressed interest in applying to the PhD program at WUaS - as WUaS first licenses with BPPE in California for PhD programs, in addition to licensing our WUaS Bachelor of Science programs - WUaS may suggest you take some undergraduate courses in our May-August 2021 term to prepare you both for the PhD programs in your new possible fields. Imad, I think you have expressed interest in a WUaS Computer Science PhD program (moving from and building upon your chemistry undergraduate Bachelor's degree), and Prasanth, I think you have expressed interest in first a Cognitive Science PhD program, and now possibly a EECS PhD program (moving from your Electrical and Electronics Engineering undergraduate Bachelor's degree major). What are your thoughts now about a possible PhD major, Prasanth?
So Prasanth, entering a WUaS PhD program would involve your taking some edX courses (and not research) this summer - if and as WUaS proceeds with partnering with edX - to prepare you for entering this PhD program, and candidacy, in your major, and Imad, probably some Computer Science undergraduate courses. And WUaS will refine our application and admissions' processes as we develop with both BPPE and WASC senior.
Questions or thoughts about all of this? Please let me know. (I'm including Larry Viehland in this email, who is the head of the WUaS Academic Accreditation committee, and who also went to MIT as an undergraduate in physics/chemistry, and to the Univ of Wisconsin for his Ph.D. in chemistry).
Thank you,
Scott
The undergraduate majors here -
worlduniversityandschool.org - will probably be similar for WUaS PhD programs, with students studying both CC-4 MIT OCW and edX courses online at WUaS.

Thank you for the information!

Hi Prasanth,
Thank you for this question too.
Try adding the resource you shared and I added, referencing it as follows -
Vilakkan, Prasanth Karuppasamy. 2020. Internet Resources for Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Hyperphysics; Tony R Kuphaldt. Madurai, India:

Does this answer your question?

Thanks, Prasanth,
WUaS doesn't have any students, or matriculated students as we license with BPPE and begin the accreditation process with WASC. Thanks too for learning about the WUaS platform, as it develops.
- so that, for example, you could start a Google group with a group of WUaS students, or a Twitter conversation, and discuss an issue, say free speech, and then add it to the above wiki Academic Freedom Studies' page. As you look over the platform building blocks I've shared with you (see below), you may see multiple opportunities with students' dialogues.

You're welcome! Might you be applying for other PhD positions, (like at MIT, or the Univ of Illinois, where all of them have stipends available, or in India)?
If you were to gain admittance into such a program, I'm curious what their policies would be for student information access by other matriculated students. Applying to a number of PhD programs would increase the strength of your application, Prasanth! WUaS is seeking highest achieving graduate students (such as would apply to and get accepted at Harvard, Stanford or Cambridge) and interested in their STEM PhD major as a career.
Thanks!

Thanks! World Univ & Sch had one student (from India) this year (before we've begun licensing/accreditation, and before we've completed partnering with edX) who was accepted as a Bachelor's Degree student in English literature, but could only audit the edX courses, not take them from the inside (because WUaS has completely partnered with edX). He very much wanted to do a free-to-students' Bachelor's degree (taking about 4 years, from home in India), and he has since dropped out, and is no longer interested in taking edX courses 'from the inside' at WUaS. So in the WUaS Application process for PhD candidacy, WUaS seeks to see if WUaS can learn whether accepted student candidates will complete the PhD (with an estimated average 7 year completion time). Stay tuned, and on your upcoming exams in India, as the WUaS application process develops! And thanks for your interest, Prasanth!

Hi Prasanth,
As one approach to developing the Tamil language at Tamil Nadu World University and School, perhaps we can explore the following. I'm waiting partly to hear back too from Volcano (Aurelien M Wende) in these regards.
Cheers, Scott
Hi Sri Lanka WUaS, Peter, and Universitians and All,
As you may have read in yesterday's WUaS News and Q&A, it's now possible - due to Covid-19 pandemic - to record (and live stream too) from WUaS's G Suite for Education::
WUaS News, Q&A, and Conversation 1/4/21 (2021-01-04 at 10:02 GMT-8)"
in a new video format in GDocs ... (which you're all welcome to use too re WUaS)
And if you may recall too, Rifai (head of Sri Lanka WUaS), created Sri Lanka WUaS in the Sinhala Language in Google Sites - and for a smartphone too - a few months ago:
"Here's the English version of WUaS on Google Sites -
https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - but which doesn't have any language for Sri Lankans and Indians, on WUaS Google Sites in the Sinhala language and in the Hindi language, that they will be studying for 4 years in English! ... and which language needs to be added.
I think this is the language in Sinhala, to be added in Hindi:
මෙම (2020) සරත් සමයේ නොමිලේ උපාධි ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා ඉංග්රීසි භාෂා ප්රවීණතාවය විශ්ව විද්යාල මට්ටමින් විය යුතුයි. සිංහල විද්යාලය ඉගැන්වීම සහ ඉගෙනීම සඳහා විවෘත වනු ඇත
It could be great if this process of WUaS in many languages could be automated partly.
While I've tried to develop WUaS a number of times in Google Sites over the years, it hasn't worked very well, and I'm wondering if Google Sites has iterated further due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Someone named Volcano (Aurelien M Wende) has volunteered to develop the WUaS web site further. Thoughts about all of this? Google Translate will be invaluable for the development of WUaS's web platform, thanks too to Google's AI / TensorFlow ...
Questions, thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
Could I reach out to some of you further regarding your native languages in particular, and developing WUaS, perhaps beginning with the above WUaS on a smartphone re Sri Lanka WUaS? Thank you!
Cheers, Scott

Thanks for letting me know that you signed up for Mine Pi, Prasanth, - and that you had already done so, Imad. When I 'mined' this evening, I didn't see you - maybe I'll see that we're in the same Pi network in 24 hours. Thanks for helping me to learn further about Mine Pi - and for beginning to earn Pi for yourself.
Scott

Great, Prasanth and Imad,
Thanks for the information. (I was just giving a Scottish Small Pipes' lesson on Skype video).
Looks like you've successfully installed the Mine Pi App Prasanth - congratulations. if so, every 24 hours a mining button appears on my Mine Pi App to click on, which I do, - and then 24 hours it appears again. Please let me know within the next 24 hours if you find the button to click on to get Pi (which is the mining button - ie when you click on the Mine Pi button you're using algorithms to get Pi, and it looks like you have 2 Pi, so I'm guessing you're doing it correctly). Good luck with Rupees' conversion too, it seems ... I'll have to explore if this is possible for US dollars !
And thanks Imad for saying you're in my sgkmac network. I'm learning how Pi works, and so far I only see the person (head of Sri Lanka WUaS) whose code I used. Perhaps however I can invite you from the 'security' button after mining, and then see you both newly on my network.
Let's learn further about Pi with time!
All the best, Scott

Prasanth,
I do too - and UBI in combination with the networking and mining technology of cryptocurrencies, here Mine Pi, may even emerge from a kind of 'oneness' thinking, and caring for the poor, I'll call this. :)
I teach a course on "Network Society, Information Technology and the Global University" -
http://worlduniversityandschool.org/InfoTechNetworkSocGlobalUniv.html - and while I'm an anthropologist, sociologist, and this is a course of sociology, it's also compassionate and it explains the economics in part of how the IT Revolution developed - regarding Modernity too (an often explored idea in the social sciences) ... maybe, per my course, your thinking relates to some of the cultures that gave rise to the internet!
Thanks for your email< :)
Scott
Sincerely, Scott
