Am curious how the following wiki subjects for open teaching and learning at World University and School (and check out the CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare courses here, eventually for credit for free-to-students' degrees) - will emerge in each of ~200 countries' official and main languages (with faculty, and machine learning translation too) -

Thanks, Jennifer, thanks! What might it mean further for Black Studies to “shape the university” - if this included writing it ethnographically, and thus building it out, - and with regards to CC-4 ocw.mit.edu wiki World Univ & Sch planned in each of ~200 countries, as major online universities for free-to-students’ degrees, and in all 7, 139 known living languages, each a wiki school for open teaching and learning (for speakers of each of these languages)? Thanks, Scott

Thanks, Kamala and Jennifer, Jarrett, for your thoughts about Black Feminist Presses, and how they've have played a central role in the development of all these related academic fields. Brainstorming-wise, how would a new Academic Press, seeking to incorporate the creation, the co-wiki-building too, of Ethnographic Field Sites, (STEM field sites too) and classrooms, best find form in Google Street View with time slider, Maps, Earth, TensorFlowAI - TEXT-IN-THE-SIDEBAR particularly - and with Translate, with Realistic Avatar Bots (post Samsung Neons, aka artificial humans) … and to publish both to paper, as well as in a new digital virtual earth book format, in all 7,139 known living languages? http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html Thanks, Scott (~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ~ https://twitter.com/HarbinBook ~ http://bit.ly/HarbinBook ~

Ma,
How are you? How's your reentry going? And how was your day? Nice to talk to you last night, and from the UU Church of Kensington Berkeley on a lovely evening.
Just gave a second lesson to Taylor on a Monday ... Slightly curious ... Not sure why exactly he changed it to a Monday evening (exercise and with a coach apparently), but he was being slightly not good (kind of like an 'a-hole') ... and why? We'll see how things proceed but I could conceivably not give lessons to him in the future if things have changed, and somehow aren't going well for him (is it a lack of harmonious thinking from a new sports' coach?) For awhile he was away from the screen, and showing a red cushion on his chair, a little like what Ed was sitting on on Thanksgiving. Not sure if they're in communication, - and even regarding Canyon and Taylor's previous law firm in SF, Locke Lord, or what. Hoping Ed is doing well ... but I don't see him much. Was glad he and David Thurston came to Thanksgiving with you Annie Sandy Alden and Cathy and All ...
But would like to provide social support to both of Ed and Taylor if they're living in difficult somehow lonely times or lives or even milieus culturally somehow ... And am not sure how, given my possible aloneness as well as theirs. But I recall George's focus on individuals and individualism and re agency (intentional action of individuals) ... which I appreciate ... and wonder whether I might share The Desiderata with each of them in these regards - too
https://www.desiderata.com/desiderata.html.
What do you think?
Would like to develop Rock Piobaireachd Blues' Laments as machine learning band and for myself and him and others and from Open Band, potentially in the New Year (re calling for abolition for ex.) ... that 'rocks' but am seeking the machine learning expertise and a possible collaboration even.
On with seeking to record my next SSP album of Piobaireachd ... as experiments in learning to play this great music.
What are you up to this week?
Love,
Scott

Ma,
Had also attended a Harvard Social Anthropology Seminar from noon to 1:45 partly about Black Feminist Studies and Theory, and re the following subjects I posted in Group Text chat as part of the conversation, and while interesting (and I'm a progressive too and familiar with some of the precursors to this thinking (at Reed College and beyond), I also have issues with feminism, and I didn't entirely connect with the two main speakers. Yet networks for Work World University and School and at the Academic church of Harvard have merit.

I wonder somehow if Taylor and or Ed tuned into my participation in this, and whether that could have informed Taylor's behavior ...
Could speaker Kamala Visweswaran even know US vice president (and both be of India-Jamaican heritage?) of same first name (and re illegal sex industry?) And could speaker Jennifer Nash know Ed's sister in law, also a bit like eldest daughter somehow? (Speculatively ...?) But could they also help with building out Work World University and School? Diversity questions will grow with WUaS ... Time to get the Minutes for WUaS Monthly Business Meeting out ... These folks aren't necessarily meditators, and are also academics with intellectual agendas which may also include career creation for academics. Will see what unfolds ...
Glad you are back home safely! And re an ongoing calling for abolition of the illegal sex industry internationally ... which all of these folks might support ethically, yet not having thought about the cultural or legal or law enforcement implications, or changes re the Anti-slavery act or the Emancipation Proclamation re implications ... even as such Abolition movement would free a lot of people and well into the future.
Love, Scott

"A dam belle" (sp?)

Your mentioning the "Adam Bell" (sp?) tune in the Border Pipes' collection led me to wondering about what southern belles are identity-wise in a sense (anthropologically too).
What's a Southern belle?
Why do they call them Southern belles?
Southern belle (derived from the French word belle, 'beautiful') is a colloquialism for a debutante in the planter class of the Antebellum South.
Do Southern belles still exist?
Are Southern Belles still a thing? Of course. They've been redefined a bit, but they still exist. Go to cotillion in Charleston to find them.
Found these about about cotillions in Charleston SC ... where I guess contemporary belles could conceivably be found

Taylor,
Good piping of Piobaireachd last night ... in an exploration regarding meditation ...
A dame, a beauty (belle?) ... Sandy Bells' pub near the University of Edinburgh, reminds me of the 'Adam Bell" (or Adam a Bell?) sp? tune, close to "The Forest" a kind of alternative hippy cafe meeting place in 2004. Re a dam belle, and Southern Belles, and the cotillion dance, could this form of dance be a possibility for Emma when she's older? Re Sandy Bell's am reminded of a faculty member at the University of Edinburgh in the School of Celtic and Scottish Studies, Neill Martin, ...
https://www.ed.ac.uk/profile/neill-martin ... from the Highlands (and who could be in some of Scottish military too, for all I know ... regarding foreign politics / defense / diplomacy too) ... re Scottish Independence referendum in 2022 too ... and who may be a kind of, possibly, and very speculatively, a sexual predator re young women. In calling for abolition of the illegal sex industry worldwide, and seeking to protect WUaS matriculated students, and begin Scotland World Univ & Sch, am not clear how WUaS would approach such an issue ... except that Scottish women (and women from all ~ 200 countries) could study from home safely (hopefully). Is Sandy Bells' pub, with its co-founder a successful business partly emerging from the School of Celtic and Scottish Studies? Saw you looking off to the right yesterday, Taylor, in our session, and am wondering too about the culture of the deep south (your phrase), and politics and history too. Since you're a religious historian, what role would your thinking play in getting involved with Cotillion dance? When she's older, I wonder, and re this Columbus, Georgia chapter of Cotillian dance -
https://nljc.com/n/index.php/chapters/greatercolumbus/chapter - would you seek for her to learn 'etiquette' in this network, re "Southern Belle" idea (with its non-abolitionist history, I'll characterize it as)? While I think identity can offer connectings regarding politics, Irish Dance, or Scottish Dance nearby could be comparable opportunities ... dancing Scottish in Pgh folk festivals in high school was much fun ... and what regarding the harmonizing effect - see email below too - of Friends (Quaker Silent Meeting), UUs (re caring mother), A&V Yoga, or the Harbin warm pool (didn't see very much Indian music in Columbus when I just looked, and am not sure about these 3 Yoga places there -
https://www.google.com/search?q=yoga+in+columbus+Georgia&sxsrf=AOaemvIFES5jRK5p5a1br-okxnLNhJW0Dg%3A1637695527828&ei=J0CdYfTjMamzqtsPlt6QwAs&ved=0ahUKEwi0k76hm6_0AhWpmWoFHRYvBLgQ4dUDCA0&uact=5&oq=yoga+in+columbus+Georgia&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAMyBggAEAcQHjIGCAAQBRAeOgcIABBHELADSgQIQRgAUOoeWOohYM8kaANwAngBgAHIA4gBngmSAQkwLjEuMS4xLjGYAQCgAQHIAQLAAQE&sclient=gws-wiz - and compared with Angela & Victor's Yoga from which circles I'm a dropout ) ... glad you found a coach in a gym, and that you're beginning to get movement into your life ...
Have you ever explored the Relaxation Response meditation -
https://www.massgeneral.org/wellness/news/the-relaxation-response - where meditation as an inner releasing action or harmonizing effect can be a good way to keep one's counsel, re agency, and discernment (a Friends' term for thinking out of the silence of meditation in a sense) too
Further with meditation, qualities of consciousness (re your agency) and Piobaireachd and piping, Taylor! :)
Piping cheers,
Scott
Hi Taylor,
Sounds good. Am deliberating about when to return to playing with Open Band, and that time on Mondays could work for me.
A little folksy, and not perfect like Stuart's piping (re Piobaireachd classical Scottish Bagpiping music too), but I've attached a recording of 'Beloved Scotland' Piobaireachd on the A chanter (which version I won't add to my upcoming 2nd album), such that you could play with it in tune on your SSP A Chanter for learning to play Piobaireachd further (and in tune). I come a bit into conversation with Beloved Scotland - Piobaireachd · Mike Cusack
I haven't heard back from Stuart about my inquiry about my next individual lesson with him (and am seeking still to transcribe some past lessons for my own learning), and thus haven't heard back yet re asking about the Topical lesson and your joining this. I don't know his thinking in all this.
(Am seeking here to get back to walking for at least 30 minutes per day, and eating a Very low fat diet, with 5-15 fruits grains vegetables legumes and an egg per day. It's an hour and 20 minutes up to the UU CHURCH OF KENSINGTON which I often walk at twilight (beautiful). My father's family has a history of heart disease (Boston diet?) and the proof that Heart Disease is reversible (Ornish MD from a Yoga perspective, AND Esselstyn MD from a medical perspective too is compelling). My father, a MD too, had us drinking skim milk from a very young age (having read the evidence probably in the 1970s and in medical school regarding fat and cholesterol -
http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/heart%20disease%20reversal - back a few years may have papers or books with the evidence. Appreciating the harmonizing vision of some Yoga, UUs, Friends, Harbin's warm pool re Heart Consciousness Church, and even the benefits of the walk up the somewhat steep hill to the pool area re gyms & movement).
See you Monday,
Scott

Hi Taylor,
am wondering if you might like to find a different Scottish Small Pipes' teacher ? Am curious to develop Robotics' Piping teachers at CC-4 MIT OCW-CENTRIC WIKI WORLD UNIV AND SCH that could teach and play as well as Stuart Liddell, as well as Rock Piobaireachd Blues' Laments as new musical genre with riffing, and next SSP album, this one of traditional Piobaireachd, and potentially all with machine learning, but this will take awhile. I have a conscientious ethical consciousness (meditation wise, and Yoga informed too -
http://www.scottmacleod.com/yoganotations.html) approach to building piping skills gradually and iteratively, as well as teaching a kind of self learning approach
Someone from the National College of Piping? A Mike Cusack in Texas, or from Pipers' Persuasion, on the Scottish Small Pipes? Calling or emailing John Walsh's Small Pipes, and asking for a recommendation?
Wishing you well, and sorry about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic self-quarantine, and its isolation. (Am continuing to call for abolition of the illegal sex industry, and realize that you might not think of it as a form of slavery, or similar ethical wrong doing, & to protect you, kids, innocent people, myself and my family, in calling for social change, and seeking to make the world a better place too ... & with developing CC-4 MIT OCW-CENTRIC WIKI Work World University and School also). Hoping you find connecting without me in 1-1 piping lessons a positive learning experience. Please let me know if I'm missing, or misunderstanding, something, or if you'd like to communicate or talk about these questions or concerns.
Friendly greetings from the SF Bay Area,
Scott
