Thanks so much for the general exam yesterday at UPMC Shadyside hospital, and for the "cyst" word in your naming the nodule on the bottom of my left foot. In doing further research, I've learned much, including from this Harvard URL, and from Dr. Andy Weil MD, ad in seeing this picture. As I just text messaged to my Reed College friend Tym Lenderking in DC (from 1979) -
- found this: " What is the conventional treatment?
One traditional “treatment” was to hit them with a heavy book ... " :)"
So while I haven't tried this yet, and none of the other resources below offer any helpful effective therapies, some questions I have are: how much pressure, how many times a day and even how could we develop & study this scientifically (at OCW.MIT.EDU-centric wiki World Univ & Sch, at Shadyside hospital, etc.) and with your help or thinking too? While I'm going to explore hitting the cyst behind the ball of my left foot with a book soon, and experimentally, thanks to this 'telemedicine,' it might be interesting to explore these questions together at some point in the future.
Thoughts, ideas, questions, suggestions?
Thank you again so much, David!
Best regards, abolition-ally, Friendly greetings, Scott

Harvard URL:
Nodular tumor-like lesions or mucoid flesh, arising from tendon sheaths, LIGAMENTS, or JOINT CAPSULE, especially of the hands, wrists, or feet. They are not true cysts as they lack epithelial wall. They are distinguished from SYNOVIAL CYSTS by the lack of communication with a joint cavity or the SYNOVIAL MEMBRANE.
Medication and splinting - If you're experiencing pain, we may recommend an anti-inflammatory medication and splinting to decrease the pain. Aspiration - In some cases, the fluid in the ganglion cyst can be removed through aspiration.
Some ganglion cysts go away on their own, while others remain small and cause no problems. Small cysts may just be monitored, requiring no treatment at all. If a larger cyst is causing discomfort, your doctor may recommend anti-inflammatory pain medications and/or wearing a splint.
DIDN'T find anything helpful YET with the following

Yoga inverted poses, or other asana, ayurvedic medicine or herbs, or Chinese acupuncture or medicine (except possibly electroacupuncture) or natural remedies or herbs YET (besides the HEAVY BOOK "treatment" above)

After reading this from Dr Nagarkar (and seeing some Youtube video initial cyst hitting pics to), I had second thoughts about hitting the new cyst on my left foot with a heavy book to DISRUPT it -
So I'm going to do some 'disruptive' Iyengar Yoga standing poses in a moment (and more asana than now regularly) to see if I can disrupt this left foot cyst (per Dr. Andy Weil's "disrupt" word), in different ways than with a heavy book. Clinical trials scientifically would be a challenge here -
Further, do we or might have the beginnings of the virtual World Univ & Sch Medical research group ... with a first "Cyst on the Bottom of the Foot Disappearance with Yoga Asana Pose Disruption" scientific study emerging? Examine the UPMC Shadyside Presbyterian hospital databases for all MD records of patients' electronic medical records, and with cyst on the bottom of their foot, and of all the people in UPMC's hospital databases in all 3 UPMC states - PA, MD, and WV - and ask MDs in all these hospitals about their possible unreported cysts they've seen, on their patient's foot bottom? Begin to develop studies and hypotheses to test about the possibility of disruption of the bottom of the foot cysts disappearance due to disturbance of the cysts ... and with Yoga asana too, and which poses and from home, and why? Then begin the studies? Reach out to people in the UPMC databases who would be interested in participating in such studies from home - and with Yoga asana, and other approaches too? World University and School would be interested in exploring these possible scientific research studies further.
Since this is a work email for other purposes, could I ask you to email me using the MyUPMC portal, where you can send messages to me that will be part of your medical file. Thanks."
And here, per your request, after first I tried to get in via ... https://myupmc.upmc.com ... I found
We’re sorry – we’re having trouble creating your account
To create a MyUPMC account online, you must already have a medical record with UPMC. Your medical record is created by having a past appointment with a UPMC provider, having an upcoming appointment scheduled, or being a member of UPMC Health Plan.

then when I found an initial UPMC for You username from around 11/15/23 - skgmac - I got this error message -
The information provided does not match our records. Please double check the provided information and try again. If you need further assistance accessing your account, please call 1-866-884-8579.
I'd imagine that our emails between our email addresses here, would get into my electronic medical record, and via your UPMC email address.
I've created a new 'play' email address for you at MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch here -
I find it creative and regarding building World Univ & Sch academic medicine networks to email many people at times ... and regarding learning of other possible new therapies, such as for what I'm calling my Right Ear "Eustachian Tube Dysfunction" ... and if it's better not to use your UPMC email, might I email you at your new WUaS email address please? Thank you.
Best regards,
Scott

In today's blog post in my daily blog, I'm also exploring this email thread's medical questions further regarding scientific research into and therapies for my cyst.

Will likely add the following as a reference to the wiki 'schools' at MIt OCW-centric World Univ & Sch above (and while the OCW.MIT.EDU platform is in transition, check out the MIT OCW courses on these wiki subjects/schools, eventually for WUaS credit for free degrees, and as the way WUaS works, where you can wiki-teach and wiki[learn as well, a bit like Wikipedia) -

Thanks again for my Shadyside hospital 'general exam' yesterday ... much appreciated.

I continue to hypothesize that the new cyst may be like WM "popcorn" pimples ... and that possibly craven psychopath???, soldier? frederic khayat across the hall from me could conceivably have put an additive into my food, and if so someone could know how to get rid of this cyst by stopping any further additives (possibly like poison???) and his possibly army 'rogues' could know of a solution - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2023/02/smooth-rock-tripe.html ... among quite a few other hypotheses. Thank you.
