Ed, John, Ma, Sid, Alden,
Ed, thanks for your calls in March 2022 and on August 25 2023 on Cuttyhunk ... re moving back into a newly safe open Canyon 94516 potentially ... How is this landscape developing from your perspective?
... and where I stayed for a while at your suggestion ... but am appreciating having heat now, for example, in Montoursville PA ... and seeking to move back into a newly safe open 670 Ridgecrest Rd Canyon 94516 possibly departing in the middle of next week from Pittsburgh 15208 to the SF Bay Area ... and getting the Work World Univ and Sch's mail again in the federal US Post Office po box 442 in Canyon (after getting a year's with on 10/2/23) ... Made further progress with my 6th book yesterday "Society, Information Technology, and the Global University" in 2 libraries around Lewisburg PA ... WILL SEEK TO CALL YOU LATER TODAY AGAIN ABOUT MOVING WEST - and having heard from mover Shamoun Powell in Richmond CA that he's available to help move ...
Walked out of the free film 'Hocus Pocus' (Disney 1993) in the "Campus Theater" in Lewisburg last night - seemed to be symbolically suggesting incest and even youth sex trafficking to an Halloween audience of kids sadly, and the announcer also talked very strangely about the movie house's hunger for kids in the raffle beforehand ... sadly ... ah, free speech ... Write about this in daily blog? C'est possible ...
But interestingly, I also talked in the theater beforehand with a retired Bucknell chemistry professor from 1967-2003 who felt "Free free at last ..." (quoting Dr MLK jr) with retirement and mentioned the Maryland 7 or Maryland 9 and w priests who burned draft cards and other things in he late 60s and went to prison for it - and Lewisburg churches at the time provided support ... (See articles below) ... Bucknell and Lewisburg were involved in the 1960s ... He also described Lewisburg as very conservative ... and whereas I saw conservative columnist George Will as a speaker in a series posted in library ... Don't know this chemistry teacher's name ... and I had the sense that he wasn't conservative ... (but somehow subdued too by his Bucknell chemistry teacher career ..
and glad to be done) ... We didn't get to talk about aging reversal and extreme longevity genetics' drugs possibly emerging ... but almost ...
Pin/Sid - I continue to get Grants.gov web portal updates ... And don't know if monies for MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch will be forthcoming from the US govt (or what relationship you in HHS might have with Grants.gov) but WUaS would welcome greatly financial resources with which to begin to grow
Fond regards, abolitionally, in asylum on the eastern sea board of US as whistleblower, best wishes, Friendly greetings, Scott
PS
came in 1967, retired in 2003

Interesting to get glimpse into how subjectivity is produced in Lewisburg - and anthropology- wise and post 1960s
He suggested Lewisburg was quite radical
He Also said FBI were around taking pictures - but they all knew each other - re a kind of familiarity
mentioned. the Maryland 9 or 7, and 2 priests there from Lewisburg who burned draft cards in protest to Vietnam in late sixties
and how some churches in Lewisburg affiliated with Bucknell provided support

Found some further articles about the fire the Berrigan brothers/priests set that the retired Bucknell chemistry teacher mentioned - and from the Catholic Worker and Dorothy Day which you have mentioned in the past Ed - and in growing up Catholic in the SF Bay Area and re your mother as a Catholic, whom I knew ... and which led to their spending time in the penitentiary in Lewisburg PA in radical north central Pennsylvania from the late 1960s forward ... and re conscientious objection -

"Philip Berrigan, the patriarch of the Roman Catholic anti-war movement whose conscience collided with national policy for more than three decades, died last night of liver and kidney cancer. He was 79 and had lived at Jonah House on the grounds of a West Baltimore cemetery for much of the past decade.

Dear Ed, John, Ma, Sid, Alden,
Good to hear from you, and good day to you - How are you?
Some further possible related developments regarding my moving forward into a newsly safe open Canyon 94516 around 11/1/23 potentially
Glad to get a Kaiser Permanente NorCal email just now, suggesting I'd have health care coverage on returning to CA potentially soon (with some further reasons for hope ... and having emailed Byron and Cindy this morning too and BCC-ed you) -
Am managing my cholesterol I think through a very low fat ovo-lacto vegetarian diet of fruits, grains, legumes and vegetables - potentially for the centuries ahead even, and glad I have health coverage.
And I'm assuming I have Univ Pitt Med Ctr health coverage now still, and I am back again in an area with UPMC clinics, compared with Massachusetts ...(and I thought the text message the other day on Tuesday February 24, 2023 about a flu shot reminder was from UPMC indicating ongoing coverage, but I just checked and it was from KP too).
Am just now at the Muncy Public Library talking with positive Corey Breneisen, director, again about the county possibly getting Lego Robotics Kits from the WUaS Corp ... as WUaS licenses and accredits in Pennsylvania ... and sent an email to two directors at the main branch in Lycoming county in the JV Brown library and Corey the other day ... and asked a Union County librarian yesterday about whether they have Lego Robotics' Kits for lending (like both counties have jigsaw puzzles and board games, both with a zillion pieces - for lending) ... and she said check back later ... Corey just said that Lycoming county is part of a seven county district ... but WUaS also needs to accredit and license (and already has licensure authorization from the state of PA) and MSCHE accreditation agency in Philadelphia wants a business plan to begin the accreditation process ... so it will be a little while before the WUaS Corp can sell Lego Robotics kits to Lycoming county public libraries ... and potentially when I'm in California again.

Ma (Janie MacLeod), Ed (Smyth MD), Peter (Norvig, Google AI), Sid/Pin (Mazumdar HHS), John (Sargent MD), All,
Good morning. Greetings from north central Pennsylvania in asylum still on the eastern seaboard of the USA from California. Ed's outgoing telephone message says "I will call you back ..." - to a newly safe California ... could this mean also?
Just texted this to my friend Ed in Berkeley -
"Hi Ed, how are you? Thanks for your calls on Cuttyhunk on 8/25/23 and in March of 2022 ... As a possible physician MD having come out of retirement -
https://health.usnews.com/doctors/edward-smyth-39053 - are you possibly navigating all kinds of possible entangled developments post ~2.5 years of corona virus 'lockdown' in the SF Bay Area and even nationally? How please best to move the WUaS Academic Medical Center / the Physical-Digital WUaS Longevity Genetics' Institute forward into 670 Ridgecrest Rd Canyon CA 94516 on around 11/1/23 and potentially with signing ownership papers for this property ... and in my having sought US federal protection, and in seeking for US federal and states' laws to work effectively together? How might we talk about this? Fondly, abolitionally, best regards, Scott (

PS Heading to the Lewisburg PA public library to get back into writing "Society, Information Technology, and the Global University" after a pause regarding my current living situations ... Heard back affirmatively from 2 Brown University archivists yesterday regarding developing a #

Warm regards, Scott (What's a virtual hippy commune in emerging real virtual reality - re a realistic virtual Harbin Hot Springs from home too :)?
Ed, Sid, all, having heard back from the mover /shipper Shamoun Powell in Richmond VA affirmatively on Monday that he is available a second time to move my things from Pittsburgh 15221 to a newly safe open 670 Ridgecrest Rd Canyon CA 94516, could I begin today to schedule this move departing Pittsburgh on tu Oct 31 2023 (not in Halloween costumes:) and arriving in Canyon 94516 a few days later ?
Fond regards, abolitionally, best wishes, thanks, Scott
