  • Dopamine and Oxytocin:
    These neurochemicals are highly concentrated in the reward system and are linked to feelings of desire, bonding, and pleasure. 
  • Amygdala and Prefrontal Cortex:
    During love and other positive states, the amygdala (which processes negative emotions) and the medial prefrontal cortex (which handles social judgment) show decreased activity, contributing to positive outlook and a sense of unity. 
Neurochemical Basis of Bliss
  • Released by the hypothalamus, it creates feelings of euphoria, desire, and reward, similar to those induced by addictive substances. 
  • Known as the "bonding hormone," it promotes trust, attachment, and feelings of well-being within social connections. 
  • This "bliss molecule," released during deep meditation and other positive states, mimics the effects of cannabis and boosts serotonin and dopamine levels. 
Neuroplasticity and Cultivating Bliss
  • The brain's ability to change and form new connections can be leveraged to foster lasting happiness. 
  • Mindfulness and Gratitude:
    Regular practice of mindfulness and expressing gratitude can activate the brain's "happiness centers" and promote a more positive emotional state. 
  • Nurturing strong social bonds and engaging in acts of kindness stimulate the brain's reward pathways and foster a sense of belonging and fulfillment. 
  • Meditation:

We are organizing a virtual Bio-Bootcamp sessions to introduce molecular biology, laboratory, and software basics that will be necessary for the HTGAA course. 

The Bio-Bootcamp will be held in the week of January 19-23. The Bio-Bootcamp will feature three sessions, each 9am-12p ET, on Monday Jan 19, Wed Jan 21, and Fri Jan 23. 

We might also offer optional office hours on Tues Jan 20, Thurs Jan 22, and Mon Jan 26.
