Ma,

Thanks for mentioning there was a blue moon last night ...

Went out on Halloween, didn't see it, went out this morning just before 7 (daylight savings' time) and it didn't look blue ... Looked it up ...

What is a blue moon?

A blue moon is an additional full moon that appears in a subdivision of a year: either the third of four full moons in a season, or a second full moon in a month of the common calendar

(Why is it called a blue moon?...)

Answer. “Once in a blue moon” is a common expression that has been used for a long time, and which means 'not very often,' or 'very rarely.' It often refers to an extra full moon; however, it has been used to describe the way the moon actually looked, when for different reasons it had turned a blueish color.

Nice cheesy moony poem, no mention of blue ...

Shared this with Navin yesterday evening ...

My mother just emailed that it's a blue moon tonight (in western Pennsylvania) and is very beautiful. I just looked and can't see the moon currently, but stay tuned over the course of the night from your beautiful porch with Nataraj dancing in the ring of fire standing on the dwarf of ignorance (4 ft high circular sculpture)  in case you head out there for some fresh air  ... 'Once in a blue moon'... blue moons are a treat! :)

PS
No dew on the wood table top, the wood veneer 5 foot book shelves, or presumably the wood veneer file cabinet on its side :)

Hi Ma,

On with
Blue moon - as blue cheese to 'eat' moon, remember and to chuckle, Krakatoa 1883 & poem

More about Nataraja here, informing an interesting idea space too

And here's an orange moon in a blue sky over a blue MIT -
