I'm curious about the role Lego will play on both A) the physical/actual side of things ... and on B) the virtual side of things in virtual worlds ... (in the creation of an Actual-Virtual Universe)

Besides the 3D virtual world of "Minecraft" which is partly designed with Lego in mind, I've recently seen that the drag-and-drop programming language for kids called "Scratch," which comes out of the MIT Media Lab, is designed for "Lego" too.

Will "Legos" (and genetic cellular "Legomics" too - as physical building blocks - have sensors on them that will correlate with these two digital environments (Minecraft and Scratch) even? ... and hopefully all within a realistic virtual universe of Google Streetview with Time Slider / Maps / Earth ...


Harvard Prof of Education Karen Brennan (with a MIT Media Lab Ph.D.) gave me and everyone in a workshop she facilitated her book about Scratch at the Exploratorium in SF a few years ago, and I've played a bit with the Scratch application before too, but not with Lego.

But the correlation between the actual and virtual here is really cool - and for programming robot Legos for example playfully.
