Dear Lee and Nakia,
Thanks for your email, and greetings. And greetings Anant! It would be great to "discuss World University becoming an edX member or using edX courses with your students as a customer—all that is open territory." When are some good times to meet in a call? And it would be great to explore the following items on this side. How about on your side?
1
I just today received an email from a prospective undergraduate World University and School student who is urgent to begin his undergraduate 4 year Bachelor's degree at WUaS as we begin licensing here in California with BPPE. One question I wonder about, Lee, is how would grades work at free-to-students' CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki WUaS from edX if we collaborated and for licensing and accreditation processes with potentially BPPE and WASC senior (which also accredits Stanford and Berkeley etc), and beginning in January?
He's written twice:
I am Shahbaz from India. I want to pursue Bachelor of Arts in English. Could you provide me with the programs' details such as duration, study materials, etc.?
Thanks & Regards, Shahbaz
Hi Scott,
I am in urgent need of starting a bachelor's degree. It's almost 1 year to the Fall 2020. Do you have any degree program in coming months and can you suggest me other option to commence my degree program as soon as possible?
Thanks & Regards, Shahbaz
In addition, Lee, WUaS has another prospective student seeking to begin their undergraduate studies online in engineering in the autumn of 2020. And another student, in our first undergraduate matriculating class (albeit with WUaS not yet beginning licensing or accreditation), is seeking 2 courses with which to graduate.

Another question I / WUaS would be interested in talking about is potential collaboration re WUaS's website development, and on the wiki side as well. This would include registration, application, and matriculation etc., and in WUaS planning concurrently for students in all ~200 countries' official main languages, and then for wiki 'Universitians' as speakers of all 7,111 known living languages, and then, brainstorming-wise, Universitians of all 7.5 billion people on the planet. With regards to the "Mine Pi" in the subject heading, planning for all 7.5 billion on planet would also be for exploring distributing a SINGLE cryptocurrency backed by some number of ~200 countries' central banks somehow, to all 7.5 billion people via Universal Basic Income experiments. With the "Mine Pi" cryptocurrency developed by some Stanford graduates, it's possible to mine this cryptocurrency with algorithms, and Pi is one of the few digital currencies designed to do this. WUaS would like further to explore alleviating poverty worldwide by making it possible for the poorest in the world to hit the Mine Pi lightning button on their smartphones as a way to get a piece of the Pi, so to speak. So it would be great to talk about WUaS website development, and for these and the 4 initial reasons for planning for all 7.5 billion people on planet earth mentioned here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/11/arabian-sand-gazelle-minutes-for-annual.html. WUaS donated ourselves to Wikidata, Wikipedia's back end structured knowledge database in their 300 languages, and seeks to develop with all 7.5 billion people, each a Wikidata Q-item number of similar, brainstorming-wise - as a start to these coding questions.
I have some other questions it could be great to talk about, but please let me know about some possible times for a call, and perhaps as we schedule a time to meet, we can explore further items in email.
WUaS seeks to become the online Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Oxbridge of the internet, and to offer free-to-students' online Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, Medicine, and I.B. high school degrees - in each of all ~200 countries' official main languages, and wiki schools for open teaching and learning in all 7,111 known living languages, so there is much business potential here as well. See, too - https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2016/01/14-planned-wuas-revenue-streams.html. And since Harvard, MIT and Anant are the founders of edX, there's much potential in these regards for collaboration too.
Thanks very much, and looking forward to talking.
Best, Scott

Hello Scott
Anant has forwarded your email to me regarding what you are seeking to do in conjunction with edX, so I am happy to have a call to explore with you, I you’d like? Nakia can set up a time.
In regards to individual students, we don’t get involved at that level with 70M course instances going on at edX. If you wanted to discuss World University becoming an edX member or using edX courses with your students as a customer—all that is open territory. Please write back if I can help
Best

Hi Lee,
Thanks. Am available in the days some tomorrow and Wednesday. Looking forward to talking with you.
If WUaS could access grades of edX courses for free, taken by our matriculating students, and share how this might work with the state of California's BPPE and potentially WASC senior, that would be great. And especially as we develop our application, registration, matriculation system re each student a Wikidata Q item number here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University. In addition, if WUaS could possibly explore somehow developing CC-4 MIT OCW in MITx on edX for Engineering, EECS, Science, English, History and Business courses/degrees, as well as Law courses (re Harvard Law Professor emeritus Charles Nesson's edX, JuryX, HarvardX course), and similar that would be great as well.

World University and School is also seeking to develop Engineering courses and degrees in a realistic virtual environment and with actual-virtual, physical-digital home robotics - think physical Lego Robotics' WeDo 2.0, Mindstorms EV3, SpikePrime in Brick Street View in Google Street View with Time Slider / Maps / Earth - and also with the Scratch 3.0 drag and drop programming language (and please check out this recent hour-long Scratch introduction -
Thanks @SpeakkVisually @zoebentley_ @NatalieRusk @lilygabaree for your great Scratch Hour of Code Webinar https://t.co/sQDSXiilre Let's stay in touch abt Scratch3.0 with Lego Robotics WeDo 2.0 + in 1 #RealisticVirtualEarth in #RealisticVirtualEarthForRobotics re #ActualVirtual ~— WorldUnivandSch (@WorldUnivAndSch) December 3, 2019
https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch/status/1201685428501270528?s=20 - and feel free to attend an hour of code next week online as well). See, too, the #hasttag - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForRobotics?src=hashtag_click ... So WUaS has a Lego Robotics' courses / Scratch3 focus as part of Engineering degrees, and potentially at the High School, College, and Ph.D. levels, and building - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/experimental-study-group/es-293-lego-robotics-spring-2007/ - on this if possible. WUaS's 3 platforms, for your thinking, are Google Education / with TensorFlow and much else Alphabet and in Translates 100 languages, MIT OCW in 5 languages, and Wikidata in 300 languages, and we're seeking to be in all 7111 known living languages. How many languages does edX have courses in?
Looking forward to chatting with Lee, Nakia. Thank you.
Best, Scott

Hi All,
Yesterday evening before heading to Byron and Cindy's for caroling, I just sent the 4th book I've written "To the Dance or the Pools? ~ Virtually! ... " to the publisher. It's in review, and should be public in 72 hours! :) (.... https://www.amazon.com/author/scottmacleodworlduniversity ...) (Byron and Cindy lived for 3 consecutive years in Scotland, some years ago, :) (while I've lived 2 full years in Scotland in 77-78 (or 76-77) and in 2003-2004, first studying at Fettes College in high school, and then in the School of Celtic and Scottish Studies at the Univ of Edinburgh, where I wrote my MSc thesis about virtual St. Kilda, a kind of precursor to my actual-virtual Harbin Hot Springs' ongoing project ... as well as precursor to WUaS's realistic virtual Harbin / realistic virtual earth project :) ... Hopefully the book will emerge anew, radically so, here in Google Street View ~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ~ https://twitter.com/HarbinBook ~ http://bit.ly/HarbinBook ~ (and per the PREFACE to my upcoming book - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/12/bog-turtle-preface-to-book-of-poetry-to.html ...)
And in talking with Alex Welsh at the Scottish Country Dance Annual holiday party on Saturday evening, where Alex seemed to suggest that Scotland could benefit from statesmanship as the next Independence vote comes up, and that George Galloway is bit dodgy in these regards, I blogged a bit further about this brainstorming-wise here, in the bottom third - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/12/bog-turtle-preface-to-book-of-poetry-to.html ... and here is a photo from Saturday evening from the back of the hall - https://twitter.com/TheOpenBand/status/1206244875198296064 - as well as the SCD wiki page for open teaching and learning at WUaS (and more!:)
Glad too that Anant Agarwal, MIT Prof of EECS and president of edX got back to me/WUaS today, and offered to explore collaboration between WUaS and edX, as well as with regards to the "Mine Pi" cryptocurrency, and possibly UBI experiments for all 7.5 billion people - re mining cryptocurrency with algorithms - which I'll likely blog about today :)
All three of these items are significant "power outages" for WUaS as well :) ...
See some of you tonight at Berkeley Scottish Country Dancing at St. Clement's ... and come play if interested ...
With very best wishes, and Season's Greetings, Scott
