Dear Julian, Larry, Peter, Tito, Jayni, Yuping, Juan, (Kyle), Universitians, Board of Directors, All,
Glad to have heard back from Julian in Romania earlier today. He's the named CEO of the WUaS Corporation, one of two legal entities at WUaS in the state of California. Please see his email below, and my response as well.
Kind regards,
Scott
1. I'm fine. Working a lot, e.g. to improve data management.
2.1 I wrote "I think that you update people" because Google is filtering out some of your messages.
2.2 That filtering is related to the fact that one day somebody asked you to stop mailing them.
2.3 I like communicating in groups, but e-mail is not designed for that. I could certainly help you to invite the people to whom you mailed your previous message to build conversations with us using a more useful service.
In general, when you want communication over the Internet to go better, you can ask me to help you to make useful changes.
An example of a good service that you're using: Google Workspace.
3. I want quite a few improvements myself and you could help me sometime.
Warm regards from me!

Hi Julian,
I hope this email finds you well. How are you? Are you doing alright? Your email is mysterious. What do you mean? (I've sent you a WUaS email basically every Monday in recent months, and the News and Agenda for the WUaS Open Monthly Business Meeting, which is loosely conducted in the manner of Quakers / Friends). I'm not sure what you mean here at all. Please explain if you care to. Thank you.
Best, Scott
Hello Julian, nice to hear from you.
1
Glad you seem to be doing well.
1.1
Lots of data management learning opportunities at WUaS too
2.1
Glad too these email messages got through to you
2.2
(The email from a Stanford department of education's 'Center to Support Excellence in Teaching' (CSET) group participant is history - I unsubscribed myself at WUaS from their CSET list due to their lack of interest in collaborating ie in supporting WUaS teaching and diversity excellence, and regarding, too, our WUaS focus on building diversity in instructors, Board and students, - and WUaS already has a pretty diverse Board).
2.3
Perhaps you can do this WUaS "communicating in groups" with a Europe focus - ie Romania, the EU, its 28 countries, the 19 nation states in the EuroZone in particular, Russia and eastern Europe countries too - much Google-centric. I think email works well for groups and is designed in Google for up to 500 people in a single email, where including a 'please unsubscribe' option is valuable. (I've recently started a Google Group focusing on India's 22 scheduled or official languages in planning for the Academic Press at WUaS with machine translation -
https://groups.google.com/u/4/g/india-world-univ--sch-with-press-in-22-languages - on the WUaS Corporation side, of which you're the named CEO; please join it, since this is where WUaS seeks first to build out our Academic Press at WUaS in GDocs, and because these 22 languages with large populations are part of one nation state, India).
2.4
Let's stay Google-centric for your data interests, and how WUaS can help you too.
Kyle Wagner has stepped down from the Board at the WUaS Corporation (as its only member of this CA legal entity), so the acting Board of Trustees for the WUaS Corp (of which again you're the named CEO - do you still have the stock shares' certificate(s)?) are those now for World University and School -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Foundation - but Kyle is still available as a sounding board if that might be helpful to you.
Julian, here's free digital money, 'Stanford Mine Pi,' - which I'm mining each day and my Pi are growing. Please join - since I think it's Stanford basis may lead to it becoming a single cryptocurrency worldwide (re best able to plan for quantum security etc) backed by most countries' central banks - and something the WUaS Corporation builds on as we develop our Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the emergent Silicon Valley long term stock exchange - and which WUaS may explore using as currency in our bookstores in 7117 known living languages. I'm betting it will become legitimate, credible and backed by most of 200 countries' central banks, or legal systems. Check it out to experiment with it and learn (and as named CEO of the WUaS Corporation).
For your free cryptocurrency, which is mineable daily by clicking 2 buttons, you can begin to get free money daily with the Stanford Mine Pi cryptocurrency now. Use this code - sgkmac -
minepi.com/sgkmac- and, on your smartphone (I realize you may not have a smartphone however - do you?), and which could become the basis for single crypto-currency in all ~200 countries.
Thanks again for your email, Julian. Thoughts, item numbers, questions, ideas, suggestions in reply? Nice to be in communication again
Scott
Agenda & News for 2/20/21 for WUaS
Julian, this is the beginning of the WUaS Corp, a legal entity in California, which is a for profit general stock company -
(and one of 2 California legal entities, the other being a nonprofit)
Both of these are part of World University and School as a US federal tax exempt entity, a 501 c 3 ... which together offer amazing possibilities for leverage and information technology financial developments.

edX - WUaS partnering
Hi Matthew (and Larry),
I hope this email finds you well.
I would love to be able to send out with the upcoming WUaS Minutes for the WUaS Monthly Business Meeting last Saturday a link from edX for undergraduate applications, and one for prospective PhD student applications (to individuals MIT departments??? ... who might end up midstream only taking a Master's degree). in addition to my other questions in the 3-4 most recent emails. Thank you so much for your replies so far, Matthew! If possible, WUaS would seek to begin some of this in the May 1, 2021 WUaS term (especially for preparation for a degree program) and for the September 1, 2021 4 month term.
Just filled out a MIT Tech Review Insights' Newsletter poll and found it a helpful focus, idea-wise, for development of WUaS. I've posted some of my responses below for your insight into their language in the poll.
Please take this short poll and let us know what you think.
I responded that it's "Critically important" to this following question, and in relation to our upcoming matriculating WUaS students, -
* 7. How important were achieving the following goals to your digital transformation strategy?
More efficient and responsive customer experience delivery
Not at all important Less important Somewhat important Critically important
More efficient and responsive customer experience delivery - Critically important
Thank you much,

Agenda & News for 2/20/21 open WUaS Monthly Buiness Meeting -
February 16, 2021 -
Dear Matthew, (and Larry),
Thanks for letting me know that for WUaS to integrate edX in WUaS G Suite for Education it will be $50,000, and that for unlimited courses it will be $349 / student per year. It seems like WUaS will be seeking full-time undergraduate students (at the top of their classes from all 200 countries, in part, - in addition to the creative students) interested in 4 years' degrees (re retention questions, and who might enjoy studying even more than a 'full load.' How might we best aim for 9/1/2021 for this, such that I can continue to let World Universitians know in the future?
And how to begin to plan for the 4 WUaS prospective Ph.D. students, including Prasanth K, for example (with his interest in developing Tamil language WUaS in Tamil) and with his interest in majoring in Cognitive Science. What do you think? Would he even be able to apply to WUaS through MIT's Brain and Cognitive Science program? Would WUaS reach out to MIT for this program, as WUaS plans to code for applicants? (And it's Prasanth who also Tweeted about his suffering; am not sure about the significance of this re WUaS mental health planning for our students, but WUaS isn't quite 'there' yet to offer mental health services, although our online medical schools are planning online psychiatry in the online teaching hospitals! Might WUaS collaborate with MIT psychiatry or similar for our students in this WUaS PhD and Bachelor degrees' application process. What does edX do in these 'mentsl health' for students' regards?)
Am glad Anant Agarwal reached out to me recently in WhatsApp:
Anant Agarwal communications with me in new WhatsApp App on 2/11/21 -
In a new 'Open for all' group there on Feb 11 2021, Prasanth K. shared with me the following -
"A Message from Anant Agarwal, edX Founder and CEO
@Scott GK MacLeod my major problem is centralised network.
CEO and particular authority gives the instructions and commands like Anant for edX.
We need to create a peer-to-peer network for Education
A decentralised system, on the other hand, is one in which complex behaviour emerges through the work of lower level components operating on local information, *not the instructions of any commanding influence* . This form of control is known as *distributed control* , or control in which each component of the system is *equally responsible* for contributing to the global, complex behaviour by acting on local information in the appropriate manner. The lower level components are implicitly aware of these appropriate responses through mechanisms that are based on the component's interaction with the environment, including other components in that environment.
peer-to-peer like
denoting or relating to networks in which each computer can act as a server for the others, allowing shared access to files and peripherals without the need for a central server.
Scott:
Dear Anant, thank you for your messages ... Perhaps something like this from Phil Windley
https://twitter.com/windley/status/1352258760085917697?s=19 could come into conversation with your great thinking. How to build this into You at WUaS -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - at this early stage of WUaS's wiki development and even anticipating or planning for all 7.8 billion people, could be a starting place to realize your thinking (and in Wikipedia's 300 languages via WUaS in WUaS OpenCura WikiBase Wikidata)?
Scott
Hoping they at edX are also focusing on student retention questions as they focus on quality ... Anant?
Prasanth
@Scott GK MacLeod "Self Sovereign Internet" What a words!!
Prasanth
@Scott GK MacLeod Share some words about Phil Windley and your experiences with him
Scott
I think he has a PhD in computer science from UC Davis and lives in Utah presently where he's been working on self sovereign internet idea and other CS theory for decades ... Only know of him from Twitter, - and also possibly regarding a single cryptocurrency since Phil Windley knows Drummond Reed, whom I met at Stanford, also working in the cryptocurrency space and related CS IDEAS in Redmond Washington (and who went to Harvard and may know Bill Gates too)"
Communications here too -
Matthew, (Anant, Ned, Larry), in this major edX-WUaS coding planning moment in WUaS G Suite for Education, in what ways might WUaS facilitate Anant's seeking a decentralized "peer-to-peer network for Education" for 7.8 billion people, each a Wikidata Q-item # or spin # or similar - possibly along Phil Windley's lines of thinking (and even without passwords
And could I let World Universitians and especially prospective students know in the WUaS News and Agenda for this Saturday's open Monthly Business Meeting on 2/20/21 that prospective Bachelor (150?) and PhD degree students (4 currently at WUaS - through MIT depts.?, Others welcome) will be able to apply to matriculate online this autumn, and have approximately a year's worth of courses to choose from and study in their prospective majors? (I usually send this announcement out on the Thursday before, so 2/18/21 this week). I would like for WUaS to head in a professional direction re scheduling and planning for this too.
Following up on previous 2 emails' questions further below later. Thanks to Anant for getting in touch in WhatsApp especially. Thank you.
Best regards, Scott
February 9, 2021
Dear Matthew,
I hope this finds you well.
Thank you for the clarification. HOW would the integration with Google's WUaS' G Suite for Education work with edX for grades etc., with our WUaS plans to build out in WUaS Opencura WikiBase/Wikidata's 300 languages, and for matriculating Universitian students and WUaS wiki editors in all 200 countries, conceptually here -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - (and in planning for WUaS wiki teachers and learners in all 7117 known living languages) ?
And would you be able please to include Larry Viehland in our communications each time, since he's chair of the Board at World University and School?
Viehland@chatham.edu is his email address. Thanks.
WUaS is still seeking funding. So is WUaS and edX still talking about ~ $17,000 per 50 students per year? And what please would be the next steps and costs to sign the edX-WUaS partnership agreement? (And would you please lay all of these out in writing)? Also, from you edX perspective, could WUaS matriculate 150 undergraduate students (and potentially at least 4 PhD students working toward their Master's degrees) September 1, taking engaging edX courseware which helps with studnet retention, in 29 majors (licensable be BPPE and accredit-able by WASC), for a first year out of 4 years' college?
Thank you,
Scott
PS
Here are some ideas for where WUaS would like to head with a single science subject from our WUaS CC-4 MIT OCW-centricity (for reimbursement reasons from countries) to edX and beyond, first in English then in other languages with machine translation (some of which will happen in a realistic virtual earth in the Google ecosystem too) ...
February 7, 2021
Dear Matthew, Marissa, Ned, Cameron at edX, All,
I hope this email finds you well. Just following up on our recent conversation in videography. In anticipating WUaS Monthly Business Meeting in 2 weeks, and matriculating 150 undergraduate students potentially as early as May 1, but probably September 1, 2021, I'm writing to confirm that what you said is that WUaS would have to pay edX about $101,000 to interoperate our developing platform with edX's dashboard ($50,000), and $17,000 (or $350 per student per year) for each 50 students we matriculate, and get grades for, as we proceed with probably BPPE licensing and WASC accrediting. Is this accurate? Newly, WUaS is seeking to plan for 4 possible PhD students too (taking possibly 7 years to complete their PhDs in English; 2 from India possibly, 1 from Morocco, and 1 from Indonesia).
And since WUaS doesn't yet have a relationship with MIT's departments, in what ways would it be possible for these prospective WUaS PhD students to apply directly through MIT Departments to matriculate at WUaS? This is something Larry Viehland and I and Prasanth talked about at last month's WUaS Monthly Business Meeting -
https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2021/01/alpine-lily.html, and also perhaps through MIT Admissions - (
https://twitter.com/MITstudents/status/1349417230623272960?s=20 ? In process, in what ways might our WUAS matriculating students get access to MIT Medical for counseling even (see below)?
One of our high achieving prospective PhD students today wrote
And in terms of interoperating WUaS's developing platform with edX's dashboard, and Houcemeddine above (in Tunisia, who helped install WUaS in Wikibase Opencura -
https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2020/12/sat-dec-19-2020-wuas-minutes-for-open.html - and in WUaS planning for students in all ~200 countries, and wiki teachers and learners in all 7,117 known living languages, and indeed, brainstorming-wise, wiki teachers and learners among all 7.8 billion people on the planet, for free universal people-to-people education), could Houcemeddine and perhaps Ned somehow work together to develop an interface between the edX dashboard, the emerging WUaS platform, partly WUaS Wikibase Opencura-centric, and in WUaS's G Suite for Education too, which WUaS has been in for years, and which also provides access to the Google Ecosystem including Translate and TensorFlow too?
I think Prasanth as a matriculating student would welcome an opportunity for counseling, given the statement above (since I think life can be really hard in India, despite it's remarkable tolerance, and diversity and many languages and cultures).
Thank you.
Sincerely, Scott
