The Klamath Knot by David Rains Wallace (first published in 1983 by the Sierra Club, then later by the University of California Press) * And you inspire me to read further in the great "The Overstory' by Richard Powers, Ed! Thank you again for giving me this book, Ed 💗🙂

Hi Ed, from north of Berkeley, after the FIRST Open Band music-making at St Clement's Church for ScottishCountryDancing... Good to be a little more social than COVID-19 pandemic self-quarantine times ... Good to see David Deacon MIT & Stanford Alum dancing and talk a bit about Work World University and School... How are you and how was your weekend? On with exploring the possibility to precipitate moving back into Canyon again. Talk with you soon. Scott
Ed, after the first Open Band music-making at St Clement's Church in a while, and re WUaS calling for abolition of course - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/05/elderberry.html - am wondering if you have thought about this and for ScottishCountryDancing groups in the SF Bay Area and re international law too and how to grow an abolitionist movement for example with these people and to protect people. How also to meet a life partner and to begin a family with a friend whom I could meet through ScottishCountryDancing Open Band circles especially -
https://twitter.com/TheOpenBand/status/1516796827076550667 too ? Fondly, Scott
Appreciating your thinking about these Abolition-oriented concerns and regarding how long it took to end even slavery in USA and in Britain more than 150 years ago and after Civil Rights' law of the 1960s too, Ed! Blog post today about this further (combined with UBI EXPERIMENTS TO ALL THE PEOPLE ON THE PLANET EACH A WIKIDATA Pin #)? Scott (http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/UBI)

Just starting this book. Thank you for giving it to me!
(The Klamath Knot, by David Rains Wallace, first published in 1983 by the Sierra Club)
Scott -
🙂 Appreciating its evolutionary history and of the Klamath mountain areas in northern California and southern Oregon, and its unique plant evolution, its perspective on time, as well as its natural focus out of an environmental consciousness. Could its Sasquatch character emerge in a realistic virtual earth for evolutionary biology, combining nature with the imaginary or myth, I wonder? There's a hippy mindedness is Wallace's book interestingly too - out of the 1960s and '70s ... Any interest in the Rainbow Gathering July 1-7 possibly in Grand County Colorado, Ed - https://twitter.com/scottmacleod/status/1522059644109172737
- https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/05/black-canyon-of-gunnison-national-park.html ? Enjoy The Klamath Knot! 🙂 (Am wondering about moving further forward into Canyon, Ed - thoughts, suggestions, questions, ideas? ... thanks for trying to precipitate a move there on F 4/15/22 and for I think suggesting it was [not] safe when you came over for tea and smoothies on Wednesday 4/15/22) - Cheers, Scott
*not safe I think you suggested about Canyon 94516 on W 4/13/22 over smoothies, Ed 🙂! ...
Here's a description of the book from the UC Press - "Winner of the John Burroughs Medal for Nature Writing, the Commonwealth Club Silver Medal for Literature 1984, and named one of the twentieth century's best nonfiction books by the San Francisco Chronicle, The Klamath Knot, originally published by Sierra Club Books in 1983, is a personal vision of wilderness in the Klamath Mountains of northwest California and southwest Oregon, seen through the lens of "evolutionary mythology." David Rains Wallace uses his explorations of the diverse ecosystems in this region to ponder the role of evolution and myth in our culture. The author's new epilogue makes a case for the creation of a new park to safeguard this exceptionally rich storehouse of relict species and evolutionary stories, which has largely been bypassed by conservationists since John Muir." ... Different cover when it first came out from the Sierra Club ... am curious what you think of the book per this description ... and I haven't read David Rains Wallace's new epilogue ... but from this description, I could think that a https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForEvolution?src=hashtag_click could be a great fit for this new park idea 🙂 Glad to hear from you, Ed ... and regarding your previous 'live' message :) How are you doing? Fondly, Scott
Here's the UC Press Klamath Knot book URL re description - https://www.ucpress.edu/book/9780520236592/the-klamath-knot - and here's The Klamath Knot book on Science Book A Day web site, next to another book "The Digital Doctor" - https://sciencebookaday.com/2015/04/ - Have you heard anything about Digital Doctor? 🙂 (and regarding too my adding you as Chief Medical Officer at WUaS to the 2 state of CA statements of information recently - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Foundation - and please let me know your thoughts about this, Ed!) - Scott
You inspire me to read further in the great "The Overstory' by Richard Powers, Ed! Thank you again for giving me this book, Ed 💗🙂!

Ed, it occurs to me that Canyon could be metaphorically like the Knot in 'The Klamath Knot' interesting book, but perhaps understandable too, and writable anew :) Looks like a Stanford Medicine MD Mintu Turakhia is going to become a Chief Medical Officer at a company @iRhythmTech in SF ... Someone to collaborate with somehow at Work World University and School and potentially with Google Street View with time slider Maps Earth TensorFlowAI Translate with realistic Avatar Bots Electronic Medical Records and Project Baseline at the 200 planned online WUaS Corp Medical Schools ... Emerging from CC-4 MIT OCW-centric courses and potentially regarding Canyon 94516 and an Academic Medical Center there - https://twitter.com/StanfordDeptMed/status/1522341367019679745 ? :) Scott
#StanDOM's Mintu Turakhia (@leftbundle), will combine his expertise in #cardiac #electrophysiology, #clinicaltrials, #digitalhealth & more to serve as @iRhythmTech's new Chief Medical Officer & Chief Scientific Officer! https://t.co/dlRLyDpwAB

Hi Ed, thanks for sending the sideways picture of the Klamath Knot book yesterday ... inspired me to follow up to the district 7 California state senator's office in Orinda in the email thread with the sideways picture of the USPS Canyon 94516 PO Box federal renewal form for World Univ & Sch / WUaS ... thanks so much, Ed! Hi Ma,
How are you? How do you think the experience of being friends changes from when you are in your 20s to your 50s to your 80s? Do you think you were friends differently with Jean Thomas in the 1980s compared with the 2010s? Do you think you made new friends differently in the 1980s for example compared with the 2010s?
In seeking a partner for family and a friend am curious what role one's age plays here too (apart from place and culture - eg Pittsburgh, its values regarding friends, but partly which I think I learned from you, - and time wise re the 1970s ...)
Seeking friendly life partner friend ... I find Nidhi Chanani here - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/05/california-buckwheat.html?m=0 - in the video too, an interesting possible friend for Pin Mazumdar (due to their similarities in part), although both Pin and Nidhi are married to someone else ... Could I find an attractive mid-20s friend and life partner who is somewhat similar to me and culture wise too ... (even a MD to be?:)
Love, Scott
PS
Nothing about the word 'friend' in the Desiderata and not surprisingly to me given George Alexander MD's thinking about friendship...
PPS
But I have given some thought to the question of friends here ...

Time to revisit this, and perhaps write it in a more focused Prose way too :)
