The Unseen Truth: When Race Changed Sight in America
by Sarah Lewis
"Sarah Lewis’s The Unseen Truth isn’t just a groundbreaking work of visionary scholarship. It’s an earthquake. Here is the map key to seeing—or, as she shows, re-seeing—the fault lines of race and how, after the Civil War, they were buried beneath an onslaught of constructed American fictions diabolical in their details and devastating in what they taught generations to filter out, allowing them to see only in Black and white. All credit to Lewis for removing the blindfold." —Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

On Freedom
by Timothy Snyder
Freedom is the great American commitment, but as argued by Timothy Snyder—the acclaimed Yale historian and author of the #1 New York Times bestseller On Tyranny—we have lost sight of what it means. Too many of us look at freedom as the absence of state power, we think we're free if we can do and say as we please, and protect ourselves from government overreach. But true freedom isn’t so much freedom from as freedom to—the freedom to thrive, to take risks for futures we choose by working together. Freedom is the value that makes all other values possible.

The 2025 #ToyotaSienna Gets A Vacuum And A Fridge, Is Officially Now A Studio Apartment 9/17/24 by @ThomasHundal
Could a Roomba-like robotic vacuum become a first in Toyota Sienna minivans with this even ?
* *
Thanks for the Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition information Tue July 2, 2024 (2 gallon shower AND Vacuum and Fridge - and could a Roomba-like robotic vacuum become a first in Toyota Sienna minivans with this even ? )
This following just came in via Google News on my smartphone ... (& FYI the orange tire pressure icon came on about a 3rd time in many months, when I was in West Virginia, again, visiting natural areas - on Saturday 9/14/24 from about 7:30 am - 1:15 pm ... but then went off, possibly turned off remotely by the US federal government's oversight of Toyota information technologies even, and having sought US federal protection for my mother, my brother in Maine, and myself??? ... and after I had a first official 'maintenance required soon' done on Wednesday, 9/11/24 with you at Airport Toyota Moon Pgh - and has stayed off thankfully ... for the record, ... Thank you for your help Brewer Airport Toyota in keeping my 2016 Prius city going ... potentially for another 200,000 miles even) ...
Toyota Sienna Adds New Seat Reminder Tech and Interior Updates for 2025 September 17, 2024
Convenient New Vacuum and FridgeBoxTM Now Standard on
Looks like the FridgeBox will be up front on the new 2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition too ... with more about some of the new AI and ML possibilities ... but not regarding towing, or lights for towed 2016 Prius city or a Boston Whaler speed boat trailer I think ...
If the FridgeBoxTM is upfront ... might that mean a 2-4 gallon shower in rear panels might emerge and with tub even in the rear storage area (at some point at least) ... for virtual soaking in a physical-digital Harbin Hot Springs' ethnographic field site in Sienna ...
Seems like the new motion detectors in the back seat could be possibly to lessen organized crime even ... n'est-ce pas?
for helping with maintenance on my old 2016 Toyota Prius c yesterday ...
It rides newly in a great way - and feels like a tire rotation thing!
Just text messaged replied to Jeffrey (and Christian) at a Brewer Airport Toyota telephone number -
Thanks, Jeffrey (and Christian - at this number too), and Alexis (Deloe) & Donnie (Sippel) ... brainstorming-wise, am curious what the new Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will be in the upcoming 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE Woodland Edition minivan ... and what will servicing it entail even? (but realize we all might have to wait until this first Siena Woodland Editions are in Toyota technology centers getting serviced before we know in practical ways). Thanks for doing the Maintenance on my 2016 Prius c, Scott (https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2024/08/southern-right-whale.html)
What's the Toyota path to Autonomous Vehicles (fully autonomous by 2038???) for Sienna camping vans I wonder
And is a Toyota-designed 2 gallon shower for INSIDE possible ahead this year even -
When I searched recently on "Is the 2025 Toyota sienna woodland edition released in the USA in September 2024 already?" ... I still don't see anything come up ... but have read a number of times that Toyota releases new models in August ...
Greetings, and great to talk with you at Brewer Toyota Airport last time.
My "Maintenance Required Soon" sign came on the dashboard of my 2016 Toyota Prius c last week, and I have an appointment at Brewer Airport Toyota today at noon ... Am hoping to walk around your Toyota lot and see if I can spot a 2022-2025 Toyota Sienna minivan to look through the back hatch window see if it has this spot in the back left inside panel for this AMAZING 2 gallon SHOWER jug with electric water heater on top (again that fits in a slot in the Back left panel of some Siennas (with its storage space almost being a bathtub too) -
Am curious about the Sienna minivan conversion to bring the shower inside for winter car camping for example ... and it would be great if this could eventually be Toyota designed, and available via - https://www.toyota.com/configurator/
An indoor shower, and portapotty, with a convertible double bed, and a table too (that one could put a 76 key lightweight keyboard on like the Yamaha Piagerro NP 32 at the right height) ... would be great for potential homes for MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch faculty and students eg when they're "in the field" - eg at STEM field sites (such as Harbin Hot Springs in northern California, my ethnographic field site for my 1st book, and 2nd upcoming 7th book).
Am also wondering how the lighting system might work in seeking to tow my ~2500 lb 2016 Toyota Prius c behind a possible 2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition minivan across the country in 2024 to the SF Bay Area ... and possibly re keeping this great 2016 Prius c city car going to 300000 miles or even 400000 or more out west and / or for a family member or similar ...
Am still seeking for sources of financing for the possible 2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition minivan. What new AI and machine learning with Large Language Models might it have, I'm continuing to be curious about.
Hi Donnie (Sippel at Brewer Toyota Airport Pittsburgh-Moon), (All)
I just found this Toyota Sienna shower innovation - "Awesome Camper Shower (Part 2). Sienna Couple's Tiny Camper EP9"
https://youtu.be/lJg2bZOmpMw - regarding a space for a 2 gallon water source with a water heater on top in the back left side panel of a Toyota Sienna I think.
Does the 2023 Toyota Sienna you let me see have this space? Do all 2022-2025 Toyota Siennas including the 2025 Sienna Woodland Edition have this space?
Seems like one could also hang a shower current from the opening up back door on all 4 sides for a shower in somewhat off the beaten path places.
Thoughts?
Also, just asked Google AI Is the 2025 Toyota sienna woodland edition released in the USA in August 2024 already?
No, the 2025 Toyota Sienna is expected to arrive in the United States in August 2024. The Toyota Sienna typically goes on sale in late summer.
The 2025 Sienna is expected to have a starting price of around $37,000. It will have a hexagonal grille with a mesh pattern and ultra thin LED headlights.
Further thoughts?
Thanks, regards, best wishes,
Scott
PS
And I'm continuing to assume that I would be able to tow my 2016 Toyota Prius c at 2,496 lbs across the country behind a 2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition XLE which can tow 3500 lbs with a little more than an 1/2 inch clearance than other Siennas if I have the right towing setup ... (Please let me know if this isn't correct) - and see
about a possible shower in a 17-20 foot speed boat ... What do you think? -
A
SHOWER for a 17 foot Boston Whaler behind console (& camp on thwarts in bow on camping pads under some kind of pull back deck rain proof awning tent) .. with motor and trailer weighing about 2000 lbs
B
& also INSIDE a 2022-2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition that can tow 3500 lbs (but C) not for towing a 20 ft Bayliner 3200 lb speed boat (with winter heat possibly) but with its trailer is 4,142 lbs)
Google searched on -
"toyota camping van with shower in back"
and found this AMAZING 2 gallon SHOWER that fits in a slot in the Back of the Sienna (with its storage space almost being a bathtub too) -
Would work in a 'trailerable behind a Toyota Sienna' under 3000 lbs 20 foot sailboat with centerboard too ... with infinite "miles per gallon" albeit at winds' speed ...
Dear Donnie (Sippel at Brewer Toyota Airport Pittsburgh-Moon), (All)
Thanks for your text message just now - and I added you to my contact list.
Let's keep communicating in this email thread especially.
I need to find the money potentially for the 2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition, as well as have a place to park it in a newly safe 670 Ridgecrest Rd (WUaS - PO Box 442) Canyon 94516 (with US federal law and states' law working effectively together in new ways), so it may be a couple of months (or weeks) before I learn further about these.
Until then, thanks, best wishes,
Scott
PS
What please is the 'Toyota lights' system for towing in a 2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition' - a Prius c (how to connect from the Sienna to the Prius c's lights) or towing a boat trailer or a Scamp camper? I looked online but nothing has come up yet. Thanks.
Dear Donnie Sippel at Brewer Toyota Airport Pittsburgh-Moon, (All),
Great to talk with you on Monday ...
Think I need to wait until I come into the newly safe 670 Ridgecrest Road, Canyon CA 94516 house in terms of parking two potential Toyota vehicles, and with US federal and states' laws working effectively together in new ways, before I think about it further.
And I think I would need a Toyota towing lights' system per what you said ... Good to talk to you at Brewer Toyota Airport on Monday, Donnie (Sippel).
Just shared this with Christian (Reynolds) in the Brewer Toyota service department, and am trying out a possible email for him too -
Hi Christian, thanks so much for your help Monday with my 2016 Toyota Prius c at Brewer Toyota Airport! What's your email address please, and regarding further email communication potentially with BTA;s Donnie Sippel and Mr. J Meyers there (with whom I'm in some ongoing communication already via email) ... and Toyota vehicle brainstorming regarding AI in cars ... possibly since 2016 - https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-and-generative-ai-its-here-and-this-is-how-were-using-it/ - (but not in mine, because I think I have a very basic 4th generation Prius city car) ... and for example, brainstorming, how one might think of Toyota vehicle AI changing in broad strokes year to year (eg and in the 4th generation Prius c drive trains ... )? Thanks so much, Friendly greetings, best regards, Scott (Mine is sgkmacleod@worlduniversityandschool.org)
Dear Donnie Sippel at Brewer Toyota Airport Pittsburgh-Moon, (All),
Brainstorming, I'd be possibly interested in towing with a 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE Woodland Edition minivan with 3500 lb. tow hitch (cement color) -
a 2016 Toyota Prius c across the country (2500 lbs?)
a Boston Whaler speed boat
a Bayliner speed boat with inboard engine, a cabin for sleeping and a possible shower and head (3400 lbs+? )
a Scamp trailer 13 foot deluxe layout 2 with shower (1800 lbs?)
a 20 foot sailboat with a cabin for sleeping and a possible shower and head and rigging too with centerboard, not lead keel.
Might you have August 2024 Toyota information about the availability of a 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE Woodland Edition minivan with 3500 lb. tow hitch (cement color) potentially?
(And might a Toyota Humanoid Robot THR3 in 10 years be able to do all of this towing and hitching and putting boats in the water etc ... and with enough solar powered battery storage?)
I have an appointment again for 2 Emissions' tests (as I understand this) on Monday at 12:30 pm (possibly taking 2 hours) ... and I'm planning to pick up my mother at the nearby Pgh Airport at 3pm.
Dear Donnie Sippel at Brewer Toyota Airport Pittsburgh-Moon, (All),
Greetings!
Thankfully after getting teh GEICO insurance cards for my 2016 Toyota Prius c due to a fast internet connection at the nearby public library, I yesterday made an Emissions' Inspection appointment again for Monday 8/5/24 at 12:30 at Brewer Airport Toyota. Since Toyota I've read releases their new models in August, I'm wondering if you might possibly have new access about upcoming availability for an XLE Woodland Edition - "2025 Toyota Sienna XLE Woodland Edition minivan with 3500 lb. tow hitch (cement color)" ...
And out of the box too, could you please keep your eyes open for possible Toyota Humanoid Robots' availability in the future such as the Toyota THR3 Humanoid Robot - possibly 5 or 10 years in the future?
Here's a set of Tweets in these regards -
#THR3robots as #MDProfessorsofSurgery from #KaiserPermanente in 8 US states, and possibly UPMC too in 3 US states -
In what ways will #UniversityMedCtrs & #TeachingHospitals in all 200 countries be able to get #THR3robots as #MDProfessorsofSurgery from #KaiserPermanente (in 8 US states) & #WUaSEducationalServicesStores & #THR3s eg for delivery from #ToyotaServiceCenters @JVelottaMD #EdSmythMD?
I just called you and left a message, and then called the main Brewer Toyota Airport number to schedule an Emissions' Inspection for my 2016 Toyota Prius c (with a PennDot letter to this effect), and learned that Brewer Toyota Airport would call me back.
Thanks for the print out for 2024 Sienna Woodland Edition on July 2, 2024.
Am continuing to be curious about the cement-blue 2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition van with tow hitch to tow 3500 lbs (and its new AI and ML +) - and especially possibly to tow my 2016 Toyota Prius c (since it may weight about 2500 lbs) across the country to CA in December 2024 or similar (where I think the 2025 might be able to do this, but am skeptical about the 2022-2024 doing this, since I haven't seen any towing much of anything).
Also do you see on the horizon the possibility through Build Your Own Toyota - Toyota Configurator - https://www.toyota.com/configurator/ - to get removable replaceable new Toyota Sienna back seats that could turn into BEDS and or a TABLE, with this design in mind - https://youtu.be/_N03DFEEmdw - (and also, brainstorming-wise, with the Ford 150 truck seats in mind, and see the PS)?
When I bring my 2016 Toyota Prius c in for the emissions' inspection, can we please talk about the above possibility?
Thanks,
Scott
Scott GK MacLeod
PS In #ToyotaSienna2025 van, remove rear seats? Yes in 2022 - 2024 #Siennas I learned @ #ToyotaServiceCenter recently, see:
Thanks for the Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition 2024 information on paper print out re (light-ish re refraction of the heat of the California sun) Exterior Cement color and Interior Gray Flannel for $48,635 + 1,395 (compared with the "premium" 2023 black Toyota Sienna, with tow hitch installed, not a Woodland Edition too, you had on hand, and showed me, for ~ $57,900 ) at
And you said it would take a $500 deposit to get it to Toyota Brewer Airport? How long might this take, please?
Would this Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition 2024 on the paper print out come with a tow hitch installed I wonder? I didn't see a tow hitch listed on the print out. Glad too the Woodland Edition has nearly an inch of clearance height compared with the other Toyota Siennas 2022-2024.
And brainstorming, could I for sure tow a ~17 Boston Whaler speed boat on a trailer with outboard engine 3000 miles across the country (and a Scamp 13 ft Deluxe Layout 2 camper with shower)?
Scott
PS
My notes -
Wow -: finally found in a Google Search how sleeping 'comfortably' in a Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition, with tow hitch, might be possible with this 2023 Sienna example
but how to do this conversion with a De Facto TABLE under the thin tri-fold mattress AND w porta potty / toilet at ~ 2:41 minute (and later with generator to keep a little refrigerator copl for 24 hours at a spell when the engine is off (eg over possible days & weeks of travel) -
