Hi Kim,

Just resending below my email to you after our call from yesterday to keep it in this thread. Thanks again so much for talking!

Best regards,
Scott

Dear Kim,

Thanks for our very interesting talk a few hours ago about Harvard IT Academy and World University and School (WUaS). I’m writing to follow up about furthering a conversation about co-development, alignment and especially in terms of wiki-developments at WUaS and re Harvard IT Academy. I wonder too in what ways it might be possible to further come into conversation with you, Harvard CIO Ann Margulies (founding Executive Director of MIT OCW), and Meghan (sp?) Smith in the Harvard Extension School whom you mentioned, as well as WUaS Board Chair Larry Viehland (and possibly Jim Spohrer in an informal advisory capacity and other Universitians) about related questions. (The latter two both received their B.S. from MIT in chemistry and physics respectively).

Would it be possible, for example, for Harvard IT Academy to begin to plan its Harvard IT staff course offerings in many languages (and possibly as part of an online degree offering via WUaS), as well as engage the Harvard Extension School for their significant experience in and knowledge about reaching out to and teaching students who want to take courses at Harvard in Cambridge, as WUaS begins to develop its online Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, M.D. and I.B. high school degrees (accrediting on CC MIT OCW in 7 languages and CC Yale OYC), planned in most countries’ main languages?

And would it further be possible to collaborate in the above and get World University and School's - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - front end in MediaWiki (in Wikidata) with courses operational in time for students to apply in autumn 2016 to matriculate for an undergraduate degree at WUaS online in autumn 2017 (including for early admissions – e.g.

As we spoke about on the phone, WUaS may also seek to fork ourselves, on the one hand, into a Creative Commons’ licensed 501 c 3 organization (which we are already), and on the other, into a legal for-profit company, from which Harvard and Harvard IT Academy would also benefit significantly, and which would be very innovative academically, and especially with regards to WUaS all countries’ languages planned online best STEM CC OpenCourseWare. See, for example - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2015/12/hybrid-biology-wuas-meeting-with.html - as well as these planned revenue streams - http://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2015/11/wuas-planned-revenue-streams-with-3-new.html. "Harvard Around the World" would become a far-reaching reality with this - in all 7,938 languages as wiki schools and in all countries' main languages for online CC degrees.

It was very nice to talk with you, and thank you for your call. What would be the best way to proceed further with this developing conversation?

Best regards,
Scott
