With 1000s of genes changing throughout aging, how do we know which ones to target? - Networks!

To increase our odds of finding the right targets and comprehensively rejuvenating cells, we decided to focus on the central nodes in the aged gene regulatory networks. 2/8 pic.twitter.com/8YzYO7EdiN
Next, to measure aging, we looked at gene expression changes in skin fibroblasts from donors aged 1-96yrs old. Assuming cells from young donors are healthier, we built transcriptomic functional indicators for 8 cellular processes and used them to measure overall cellular age. 3/8 pic.twitter.com/Z1oEuFaG7a

Ultimately, I think about it as converting a biological system (cell/tissue/organ/organism) to a more functional state, representative of a younger age.

Dear Dr Sowers, (Wesley Sowers MD, and all),Greetings and I hope this finds you well. Might we possibly please meet to talk early in the next week, or in the first week of January? I'm glad to have learned that I got active UPMC health care coverage on Wednesday or Thursday this week. I called and left a message on your office phone number message machine with Tom Honor (sp?) sharing the outgoing message. Some of my thoughts about talking potentially with you: Desiderata? https://www.desiderata.com/desiderata.html re "Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others ..." And I think I will learn much from you and as a knowledgeable and experienced MD psychiatrist. and regarding some of the issues in my emails, which you may have read. Talking (re Lacan's speech act) over even writing is part of my theoretical thinking in seeking to speak with you, and over something like 10 meetings if possible. The last psychiatrist MD I spoke with isJohn Sargent MD (and I spoke with John last about 10-15 years ago for ~1.5 years, while I was living in Canyon 94516, and he as a psychiatrist MD at Tufts Med Ctr was referred to me by Pgh PA family friend George Alexander MD a little more than 30 years ago, and having talked with John in his office SW of Philadelphia near Pendle Hill Quaker Center for Study and Contemplation in his office there initially)andEd Smyth MD (a friend and retired KP physician - and at whose wedding I played my bagpipes in around 2000)Both are the MDs most familiar with my issues I think. And Dr. Demoise is my UPMC primary care physician, (and Dr. Javier DeLeon is my PCP equivalent in the SF Bay Area at KP NorCal).Thank you, best regards, and happy new year,ScottChamomile (RU - National flower of Russia): Happy New Year 2023 Seasons Greetings Holiday Salutations Merry Christmas letter ~
https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2023/12/ chamomile-ru-national-flower- of-russia.html PSI started to update my CV and in applying for a Stanford Law Fellow position, with application due January 19, 2023, but which Stanford Law CodeX will start reading immediately - https://careersearch.stanford.edu/jobs/codex- residential-fellowship-2024- 25-23878 - and in growing MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch's ~200 planned online law schools, in 200 countries and in their main languages, and as large language models, and 50 online Law Schools in US states and related regional ones in other countries too. PPSMy (great) mother is my main interlocutor these days ... and here's an example of our communications today -Hi Ma! Just called Penn Hills Lock and Door in Verona thanks to the Ace Hardware bag you gave me last time at Longwood which led to my going into the Oakmont Ace Hardware and asking about changing locks and they recommended this locksmith - they're open from Tu 12/26-F next week ... May have had another illegal entry yesterday into my place, with strange unfamiliar odor, and mud on my top most duvet cover sadly ... and after the possibly 3rd arson event symbolically with a pack of matches in an A frame on the street right in front of the house ... My changing locks if it works out would change the spare keys floating around ... and potentially prevent theft and sadly the threat of covert violence as well ... Glad to have gotten a Pinterest social media message this morning - from Pin or his networks? - one of a picture of the great RockAndRoll guitar player Duane Allman who died in around 1971 ... and saved this to my hippies 1960s Pinterest collection ... and after emailing Sen Elizabeth Warren, and Pin/Sid and Tym and Lobos Management about opening some US federal investigations into both LM Bryant Street Rentals and susan davis claus and family networks ... Changing the locks if possible with PHLAD locksmith would be great ... Seeking to talk too with smart Wes Sowers MD in the New Year if possible ... and think he would be very knowledgeable about many of my issues by then ... from my emails ... Could he be in communication with Peter Norvig of Google AI, also a Brown alum? I'd view this as a big positive for many reasons but particularly because I think Google and Alphabet themselves have navigated questions of criminality for some 25 years successfully and regarding the law and in many countries ... and regarding too growing MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch. Love, abolitionally, see you soon, Merry Xmas, Scott (https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Law) PPSaHoliday Planning

Hi Scott,
So nice that you found a little live tree. How about that! What about this for an idea? When I come in tomorrow — Sunday the 24th - for a walk and tea at your place, we can enjoy the little bare tree together? Then, on Christmas day - Monday - when you come out here in the afternoon - you could bring it with you and you and Chris and I can decorate it. Then, you can take it home with you with its ornaments to enjoy in your apt. for as long as you like.
Also, on a completely different subject: I’ve made reservations for us at The Lot in Oakmont for a birthday celebration on Dec. 31st. The reservation is for 5:45. Hope that’s to your liking. (They have lots of vegetarian options)
