I was a conscientious objector too, Friendly Quaker led, in my last year of high school at SSA in Pittsburgh PA (1978-1979) when conscription was reinstated in the US, and protested by writing something like "I am a conscientious objector" on the conscription card we had to send in, and giving partial information. I also sent a card into a Quaker organization (such as the AFSC, as well as another one to War Resisters' League or similar) on Cherry Street in Philadelphia to document being a conscientious objector that way too (The US government still had this information in 2001 when I went back to graduate school at the University of California, Santa Barbara re grants & funding, I was amazed to learn). But I didn't go to jail for this - different time and place than the radicalized late 1960s in New England.

How to do it: Stand with one hand resting on the chair back for balance. Inhale while slowly raising the opposite arm halfway or fully overhead, creating a soft curve in the side body. Exhale to lower the arm back down.
Restorative focus: Lengthen the rib cage and side torso, moving strictly within a comfortable, pain-free range of motion.
Supported Heel Lifts (Calf Warm-Up)
How to do it: Stand holding firmly onto the back of the chair with both hands. Inhale and slowly rise up onto the balls of both feet just an inch or two, then exhale and lower the heels back to the floor.
Restorative focus: Stimulate lower-leg circulation and maintain ankle stability while retaining complete upper-body balance support.
Seated or Wall-Supported Final Rest (Savasana)
How to do it: Conclude the practice by sitting comfortably all the way back in a sturdy chair with feet flat on the floor and hands resting on thighs. Close the eyes or soften the gaze, allowing the breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Restorative focus: Relax the jaw, shoulders, and fingers completely to let the body integrate the gentle practice

(and said a Nobel prize winner was living in her house prior to her), but who didn't know anything about Mary Chadbourne Brown (although she knew the people a bit in 752 Cragmont when she moved in).
