1
Alexandra and Vasim: thanks for your replies - and that I need for my new Lego Spike Prime robotics' kit an adapter initially (from thunderbolt to usb for my MacBook Air Laptop, which I got at an Apple store in Pgh PA for about $20, rather than the $64 listed at WM online, for example ... and see picture of the first Lego robot I built from its first tutorial) ... How would this work for WUaS students around the USA enrolling from home possibly by taking a course with Lego Spike Prime robotics' kit ... to matriculate in by playing building robots and coding with Scratch (Python) to learn robotics and computer science in the process, I wonder?

Lego Customer Support:
Am wishing there were a walk-in Lego Support option too in Pittsburgh PA, for example - and perhaps MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch can help and with as an authorized reseller of 3 Lego Robotics' kits in the USA (2 of which are now retired - and see this Lego 'language' - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html), in WUaS further developing a relationship (without any monies to speak of whatsoever yet) with Lego Education Robotics, and especially for 2 new flagship Physical-Digital WUaS Educational Services' stores in Pgh PA ...

Peter (Norvig) and Lego 'higher ups' or decision makers, or strategists -

In seeking to code my Lego Spike Prime robot builds for agency, or 'autonomy,' with machine learning, I found the following resources below - but I'm also excited about the possibilities for doing this in Google Street View with time slider, GMaps, GEarth, and with TensorFlowAI sim & GTranslate especially (and for WUaS students to do this from all 200 countries and in their main languages) ... and for the new AI and machine learning learning possibilities available online and in the physical-digital conversation.
In this thread, Charlie at Lego wrote this might happen one day ... and I'm wondering if I or MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch could actually begin this (as a hack even) sooner than later possibly please?

To build a robot with freedom of choice using Lego Spike Prime and Scratch

Hallo Google Bard AI: Ich habe Lego Spike Prime bekommen ...

Translation

To build a robot with freedom of choice using Lego Spike Prime and Scratch, you must first build a model that has the ability to collect information from its environment and process that information.  To do this, you can use sensors such as the ultrasonic sensor or the light sensor.

Once you have a model that can collect information, you need to give it a way to process that information.  To do this, you can use the scratch blocks "if ... then" and "true or false".

With these blocks you can give the robot instructions on how to react to certain information.  For example, you can program the robot to move forward when the ultrasonic sensor detects an obstacle.

To give the robot agency, you need to give it several possible actions to choose from.  For example, you can program the robot to move forward, backward, or left or right when the ultrasonic sensor detects an obstacle.

Which action the robot chooses then depends on the information it has collected from its environment.  For example, if the robot knows that an obstacle is to its left, it is more likely to move to the right.

**Here is a YouTube video that shows you how to build a robot with freedom of choice using Lego Spike Prime and Scratch:

This video shows how you can build a robot that can navigate itself through a maze.  The robot uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect obstacles and a light sensor to determine the direction of the walls.

The video is in English but the instructions are easy to understand.

 I hope it helps!

 Have fun building and programming!

  • Was bedeutet [Wort]?

Danke!

🚀

Hallo!

Thanks

Happy New Year! As a further follow up, Charlie, Tyler, Berna, Razzan, at Lego Customer Service !

I'm exploring the possibility of getting Lego Spike Prime robotics kit, and in a number of emails in this thread, you in replying to Google Bard AI too, have suggested that v. 1.10.167 for Lego WeDo 2.0 robotics kit, with work on an Android tablet with Google Street View - an exciting development.  But assuming that this could be the case for the Lego Spike Prime robotics kit,
and I just now Google searched on

"Lego Spike Prime robotics kit, Google Street View, Android tablet"

I don't see yet that the Lego Spike Prime robotics kit works newly with Google Street View with a time slider ... and with a new version of the Lego Spike Prime software, e.g. with an Android tablet.

When might this new potential for the  Lego Spike Prime robotics kit be available? General Manager: Jesper Andersen Chairman: Carsten Rasmussen., would you have a specific date please?

If I knew that the Lego Spike Prime robotics' kit might work with Google Street View with time slider on February 1, 2024 with an update on its software, I might plan to get Lego Spike Prime robotics' kit then, rather than being in limbo ... and still learning with Lego Robotics' WeDo 2.0 and possibly with its software v. 10.2.167 ... but I also don't see that  Lego Robotics' WeDo 2.0  will work with Street View when searching even though you have said that it would.

When might the Lego Spike Prime robotics' kit work with Google Street View with a time slider - and with new Lego Spike Primie updated software? Again, do you have a specific possible date please?

I would then also begin to plan for this for MIT OCW- centric wiki World Univ & Sch #WUaSHomeRoboitcs' courses - and with for example ... https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/es-293-lego-robotics-spring-2007/  and especially for such remarkable developments as this 'Language-To-Rewards For Robotic Skill Synthesis LLM' & eg in Google Street View, GMaps, GEarth with Time Slider -

Ja, diese Funktion ist relativ neu. Sie wurde im Jahr 2023 mit einem Software-Update für die Lego-WeDo-2.0-App eingeführt.

Lego WeDo 2.0 App

Am impressed that Google Bard AI shared both a Lego Logo, AND a Lego URL for contacting Lego - and re a new form of Lego Customer Service even!

So I'm wondering if Lego WeDo 2.0 Robotics' software 1.10.167 could be FURTHER designed and engineered to work with Google Street View anew (an interesting engineering process) ... and even for MacOS and Windows OS too eventually ... and regarding Lego Spike Prime kits' Robotics' software (as well as the other retired Lego Robotics' kit Lego Mindstorms )

This could be - per Google Bard AI saying that Lego WeDo 2.0 Robotics' software 1.10.167 works with Street View (in German) - a major new development of a physical-digital #Realistic Virtual Earth for Lego Robotics and for everything.

Tyler and English language Lego Customer Service, how much are you in communication with your German counterparts?

Will fill out the Lego Customer Service survey (English language) yet again with the above.

Thanks, best wishes, glad we're developing this conversation,

Scott GK MacLeod

As I just shared in a Lego Customer Support survey too:

Dear Lego Education Customer Service, Lego Robotics' WeDo 2.0 Lego coders,  Peter Norvig (Lego Institute II, and a head of Google AI), All,

Thank you for the helpful clarification that "This version of the software - LEGO® WeDo 2.0 software v. 1.10.167 - is only available in Chromebook and Android tablets".

Is Google Bard AI correct in saying that LEGO® WeDo 2.0 software v. 1.10.167 works with building and coding WeDo 2.0 robots that run in Google Street View - or incorrect (I couldn't find this in a subsequent Google Search just now).

And does Lego Spike Prime robotics' kits' software work only on Chromebook and Android tablets or other platforms (and which platforms please) - and for coding Lego Robotics in Google Street View (which MIT OCW-centric is seeking to develop as STEM field sites, and as classrooms, and for sWUaS students in all ~200 countries and in their main languages, eg where India has 22 scheduled official languages)?

Am particularly interested at WUAS in the benefits of building Lego robots in a Google Street View / Google Large Language Model environment for the PSs.

MIGHT LEGO® WeDo 2.0 software v. 1.10.167 BE EMERGING FOR MacOS, Windows OS and for making Lego WeDo 2 robots (and Lego Spike Prime too) that work in Google in Street View?

Thank you, best regards, Scott GK MacLeod

Thanks for reaching out. I hope you are well.

Oh bricks! I’m sorry your having issues downloading the LEGO® WeDo App.

Not to worry… your LEGO friends are here to help! You may download the app from our LEGO® Education official site: WeDo 2.0 | Software Download | LEGO® Education

It can select to download the app for Chromebook and there's system requirements on the site however we no longer update the WeDo software. I have attached a table with all the different devises you can access the LEGO WeDo app on and how to uninstall then reinstall the app again.

I hope this has been helpful to you if there’s anything else we can do let us know😊!

Greetings, in talking with Google Bard auf Deutsch and about building a Lego Robot in Lego Wedo 2.0 and then operating it in Google Street View, Bard says that there's a new version of Wedo 2 software 1.10.167 where I have 1.10.162, but I can't download this to my laptop from either Lego Education site which only gives me the 1.10.162 option or the Google Play Store site since I can only download the 1.10.167 software from this store to my smartphone ... Suggestions please?

Dear Emily at Lego Success@Lego.com, Eric Schilling at Scratch at MIT :), Lego Customer Support, Peter (Norvig, Lego Robotics II Institute), All,

Here's a picture of my first Lego Spike Prime tutorial robot "Kiki the Dog" build - and after being vexed after completing the build - and wondering if Lego Robotics was coming into conversation with Vex Robotics - I envisioned re step 5/6

"What else can you help Kiki with?
Have you defined another problem you'd like to solve for Kiki ?
Remember to write down your success criteria and design constraints before you start building your solution."

So if Kiki the Dog had broken a leg per one of the Lego ideas ... I'd like for Kiki the robot dog to be able to look out of a hypothetical house's window in Google Street View at traffic and then using the color sensor seeing blue to play the traffic sound ... and see the screenshot of the Lego Scratch programming language for Kiki re the first step in the purple block ...

Then I'd like to add legs to Kiki the Dog and let her explore Google Street View on foot, and some of the causes of the sounds and sites she hears and sees. :) How to plan for this design I wonder?

( and how could these help - https://scratch.mit.edu/users/helianth

and then maybe let Kiki in Street View explore in front of the Harbin Hot Springs' gatehouse (where Harbin is my physical digital anthropological field site

And could I code first virtual Kiki the dog to even break dance on two legs in front of the Harbin Gatehouse per that Google example of break dancing in my last email eg -

To build a robot with freedom of choice using Lego Spike Prime and Scratch - in German and English
