Shahbaz,

Glad that you are, afterall, going to matriculate at World University and School tomorrow, and by taking edX courses. Here are some great MIT professors in your English major to keep an eye on, in the MIT English Literature department: Shankar Raman - https://lit.mit.edu/people/sraman/ - and with an interest in Computing and AI https://shass.mit.edu/news/news-2019-computing-and-ai-humanistic-perspectives-mit-literature-shankar-raman - and Diana Henderson - https://lit.mit.edu/people/dhenderson/ (https://lit.mit.edu/people/faculty/) - both on social media too here:

And do you know the great and very funny comedy "Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard" (1999) as a comedy, and by Kieran Desai? - https://www.encyclopedia.com/arts/educational-magazines/hullabaloo-guava-orchard (it could be great to compare with "Tom Jones" with the free text here in Gutenberg archive - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/08/malabar-parakeet-bishopton-scotland-dog.html - and which is so comic it might bring tears of mirth to your eyes:).

Here again is today's MIT convocation, which is now available in recorded form - http://web.mit.edu/webcast/convocation/f20/ - if you didn't get a chance to see it earlier, and as an inspiring welcome to incoming undergraduate students.

Welcome to World University and School!

Matriculating WUaS students will be studying on edX (which requires broadband Wi-Fi video streaming access from all countries) this September 2020.
WUaS will begin to look into developing WUaS Open edX for students with limited video streaming opportunities (from MIT OpenCourseWare courses, for example), potentially via Open edX service provider MOOCit France, for January. WUaS seeks to build an online learning community as well, and offer advising / mentoring / other course possibilities in group video too in these regards.
(Thanks to MOOCit France for their startup kit - https://app.moocit.fr/courses/course-v1:WUAS+002+1/course/ - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/08/lotus-corniculatus-glad-to-announce-new.htmlWUaS is going to cancel our proceeding with WUaS Open edX via MOOCit France for the time being. WUaS will explore developing again with MOOCit France for January 1, 2021, contingent on developing/ adapting /migrating CC-4 MIT OCW into WUaS Open edX in our 6 majors, potentially with the expertise of graduate student instructors (MIT?), splitting the 15-week long MIT OCW courses into 7-8 week courses, and potentially even adding a seminar approach for 1st year undergraduates (via Riff Analytics), planning for BPPE licensing in CA, and accreditation (with WASC senior probably) and getting enough students. WUaS is also seeking to code for all 7.5 billion people on the planet, as wiki-Universitians for a variety of reasons, and potentially regarding the Open edX money transfer mechanism (regarding reimbursement to WUaS for CC-4 OpenCourseWare courses too).

(Thanks much also to Beth Porter, CEO of #Riff Analytics, discussing course-wide and small group interactions at scale.
