Pictured at the California Indian Museum and Cultural Center in Sacramento, and there are also exhibits related to Ishi in Oroville and at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology in Berkeley. Ishi was a Yahi Indian who was found in Oroville in 1911 and later studied and lived at the Berkeley museum. Here's a more detailed look at Ishi's connection to Oroville and related museums:
- Ishi was discovered in Oroville on August 29, 1911, and was initially taken to the local jail.
- He was then brought to the University of California, Museum of Anthropology in San Francisco (now the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology).
- A historical landmark, "The Last Yahi Indian Historical Landmark," is located at the intersection of Oro Quincy Highway and Oak Avenue in Oroville, commemorating his discovery.

Just passing through Chico from Lassen National Park on the way to Harbin Hot Springs' Heart Consciousness Church & potentially for Ishvara's birthday there on Wednesday. What a beautiful a Yoga Center of Chico studio you've created ... Passed by the beautiful Windows under the wisteria trellises and saw Rex teaching a Sunday morning class of gentle Yoga I think too.
And Chico, the parts I've seen coming in from the west & the dormant Lassen volcano, is a beautiful college town (of ~ 101,000 people)!
Is Yoga Center of Chico a nice expression of Yoga philosophy - and a place where this is explored through Asana, Pranayama and Yoga courses ? Seems to be ...
