[Wikidata] Next LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group Session (Attn: Please Fill out Pre-Participation Survey!) on Tuesday, 19 November, 2024
Hello, everyone –
We have our next LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group Session on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 17:00 UTC / 6pm CET (Time zone converter). If you anticipate attending the workshop sessions, please fill out this brief survey to help us prepare relevant materials for you. You only need to fill it out once, no matter how many sessions you plan to attend.
Wikimedian Mahir Morshed is leading a series of four sessions focused on lexicographical data in Wikidata. We are looking forward to learning more about these Wikibase entities! Sessions will be held on November 5, November 19, December 3, and December 17, 2024 at our regular time of 9am PT / 12pm ET / 17:00 UTC / 6pm CET. Here is the plan for the series sessions:
Session 1 (November 5)
This first session started with an introduction and discussion of the multitudes of uses for Wikidata’s lexicographical data, with specific examples and motivations provided for each use case, and ended with a listing of specific actions that can be taken depending on the language an editor wishes to improve. The remaining workshop sessions will elaborate on these actions.
Session 2 (November 19)
Working session covering ways to improve existing lexemes and tools to find lexemes to create
Session 3 (December 3)
Working session covering how modeling parts of complex lexemes in one language can be used to improve Wikidata’s ability to express concepts in other languages
Session 4 (December 17)
Working session covering how sentences can be modeled and formed using Wikidata lexemes and items
The call details are below. Working sessions will not be recorded, but demos and how-to sections will be made available as recordings. To receive notifications about upcoming calls and session information you can subscribe to the ld4-wikidata Google Group. Call Details:
Date and Time: Tuesday, 19 November, 2024 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 17:00 UTC / 6pm CET (Time zone converter) Meeting ID: 997 5162 4871

HI Lydia, and Peter (Norvig),
Greetings, and as a follow up, I blogged about this new development about not being able to log into the World Univ & Sch wiki, and as its founder, and creator, here -
https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2024/11/north-fork-owyhee-wilderness-idaho.html.
So, after 24 hours, and the first password reset from yesterday not working, I just got a new password reset with this password - akjc7nbles - and I still can't make edits from Scott WUaS or Scott_WUaS:
"There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Please resubmit the form."
And, I just added for a second day in a row something to the Yoga wiki school, that says it's pending review -
"How best to create two new World University and School wiki subjects/schools, in English at first -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects - one 1) for the therapeutic outcomes of doing specific Yoga asanas or Yoga asana sequences for specific ailments, and 2) another "Physical Therapy" wiki subject/schools for parallel therapeutic outcomes from doing PT therapies, and online from home especially, potentially also with the help of a realistic virtual earth for Yoga asana and a realistic virtual earth for Physical Therapy (and see Peter Norvig's incredible #ToolifyAIWUaS article regarding World University IN School and a realistic virtual earth for everything -
https://www.toolify.ai/ai-news/revolutionizing-education-with-machine-learning-and-ai-2574306)"
(whereas yesterday the simple change I made to the Yoga wiki school as a test was also 'pending review' - but didn't go through).
Here's the message -
Pending review

So how best please to log in, to WUaS wiki-teach, wiki-edit and wiki-curate to the WUaS World Univ & Sch Wiki so that the changes stay posted please, and with the editor who made them? Who is the coder please who has made these login changes as well?
Thoughts, questions, suggestions?
Thanks, all the best, seeking to grow MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch's Wiki, in English first, step by step,

Glad the free Stanford artificial intelligence course, From Insight to Action: Advancing Enterprise AI Governance (from
1/7/25-6/6/25), I posted recently is still here -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Artificial_Intelligence - and which I hope will help me, having registered, grow this World University and School Wiki in new ways, and as WUaS seeks to invite speakers from all 7164 to join the WUaS wiki communities.

Hi Lydia, and Peter (Norvig), Hilary (Thorsen at Stanford libraries), and David (Chalmers, philosopher of Consciousness), Roland (Vogl Stanford law codex re WUaS's 250+ planned online law schools with AI and ML and LLMs), Maria (at JudgeAI in Armenia in the Caucasus), All,
Greetings! As a further followup - the (2nd) Yoga wiki subject page edit I made (this one yesterday) didn't go through again. Perhaps this is an opportunity to develop the World University and School Wiki in new ways, and what I'm interested in growing it to do is not only to grow communities of wiki teachers and learners in all 7164 known living languages (but welcoming people affirming learning communities) ... and for many many people in all 7164 living languages to potentially be able to co-grow this WUaS wiki through their creativity as well as edits. Peter, thoughts about do this, (very differently than the 300 + languages of Wikipedia / Wikimedia? )
And got this message again like yesterday -
Pending review

where yesterday's addition to the Yoga wiki subject hasn't gone through, and I haven't been able to 'sign up', which I tried to do in a new way a few days ago.
Lydia, also is there a citation adding tool that would add all or most of the above, and helpfully?
How best please to add these edits to both the Yoga and Consciousness wiki subjects in a timely manner please? And how best to grow the WUaS wiki in a generative affirmative knowledge-growing, and also community-building way?
Eventually these WUaS wiki subject pages, the Academic ones especially -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects - will be where matriculated WUaS students in all ~200 countries and in their main languages come to find courses to take for their free online WUaS degrees from home, eg from -
https://ocw.mit.edu/ - and -
https://csfirst.withgoogle.com/s/en/home - partly as a course catalog, but where enrolled WUaS students will be also potentially able to teach to such MIT OCW courses they are studying wiki-wise for knew forms of knowledge generative engagement in higher education.
Thoughts, questions, ideas, suggestions?
Thanks,
Scott
