Wandering albatross: Talk on the VIRTUAL and the REAL at Stanford by philosopher of mind/consciousness David Chalmers, David and I will stay in touch as WUaS and I hope to create a realistic virtual Harbin/earth/universe for STEM research :) relating directly to a main theme of my Harbin book, "David Chalmers: How do you explain consciousness?" "Hard problem of consciousness"

Heard philosopher of mind David Chalmers (an Australian at NYU) just now on the virtual and the real at Stanford - https://events.stanford.edu/events/698/69825/.

David Chalmers, Symbolic Systems Program 2017 Distinguished Speaker: "The Virtual and the Real: Philosophical Issues About Virtual Reality"

Amazing that his talk was so closely parallel with my actual-virtual Harbin Hot Springs' ethnography "Naked Harbin Ethnography" ... Harbin Hot Springs' Ethnographic Book http://bit.ly/HarbinBook  ... Visit the virtual Harbin gate here - https://twitter.com/HarbinBook.

His analysis of the virtual and the real is western analytical philosophy (not entirely harmonious memes, with distinction after distinction, but fascinating - and David and I will stay in touch as WUaS and I hope to create a realistic virtual Harbin/earth/universe for STEM research :) relating directly to a main theme of my Harbin book :) ... Stanford is amazing.

Finnmark: Ambitious World University and School I.T. projects, that have suffered for nearly 10 years for lack of funding, Creating World-Class WUaS, Beginnings of WUaS Corporation Mission Statement

Ambitious World University and School I.T. projects, that have suffered for nearly 10 years for lack of funding ... and re planning to become a world class university in all nation states' official languages, and world class wiki schools in all 8,444 languages  ...

Think each of these in all ~200 countries' official languages, and in all ~ 8,444 languages ... at http://worlduniversityandschool.org ...

- Online teaching hospitals for remote medicine, including, for example, robotic surgery ... especially for poorest countries

- Online realistic virtual earth at atomic, cellular and street view levels +, and for STEM engineering, and as classroom, in all 8k languages, as AI project

- Robust universal machine translation, from-to all 8,444 languages

- 1,000 full-time online faculty (like MIT) in large countries such as U.S.A. - per country - and even more in official and main languages in China (Mandarin+) and India (Hindi+) for example

- Million online faculty and staff and students, 800,000 working 10hrs / week in each of all 8,444 languages, and 200,000 full time

- Major universities in each of all ~200 countries' official languages

- Bookstore/Computer store in each of all 7,099 living languages

- Academic Press in each of all 7,099 living languages

- World class wiki-education in all 7,099 living languages

- Computer applications, AI, and internet to enhance lesson instruction in the music school

- Broadband to poorest parts of the world for free online education

- Online human resources in all 7,099 living languages - all-language academic online manpower-brain power-language-power jobs' source for our graduates and others

- AllServices in all countries and languages (e.g. financial, banking, currency exchange, pension services, utilities, transportation, energy, regulatory services, smart cities and homes, passport, insurance, post office, etc., and possibly translation), mediated through WUaS's Nation States' Universities (http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Nation_States)

- Bit coin and the Blockchain, and for stock exchanges, in each of all ~200 countries' official languages

- Universal Basic Income with tax software in all ~200 countries' official languages

- Law students at WUaS's online law schools in all ~200 countries' official languages to write the law for this

- HospitalTechnologies (or TeachingHospitalTechnologies), both information technological, and on-the-ground, planned for all 200+ nation states and in their main languages, as part of WUaS's teaching hospitals for online medical degrees

- MindSports and MindGaming (e.g. Chess, Poker, Bridge and the Game of Go and infinitely more - academic sports in a way), planned in all 200+ nation states and in their main languages, and as spectator sports, and anticipating machine learning; WUaS students may compete in these

- AllTechnologies - or better, perhaps, all information technologies -http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Technologies - where each wiki subject page could become an incubator for such technologies .

All STEM technologies - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/STEM_Education_-_Science,_Technologies,_Engineering_and_Mathematics - where each wiki subject page could become an incubator for such technologies

Mitchell River National Park (Western Australia): Curious about a film / video to 3D virtual world conversion application, Interactive Avatar Bots from Actual People from Videos for Conversation?, Upcoming Poetry Book ~ "Haiku-ish and Other Loving Hippie Harbin Poetry", "Naked Harbin Ethnography" upcoming review in Visual Anthropology, Visit the Harbin Gate here ~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ~ in the beginning realistic virtual Harbin, Stanford's CCRMA in Bing, Berkeley OpenBand & Scottish Country Dancing sheet music, Translation and @LatourBot, World University and School's planned universal translator

Hi M,

Interactive Avatar Bots from Actual People from Videos for Conversation? (Think an application for converting Youtube videos into OpenSim/SL, but realistically).

Curious about a film / video to 3D virtual world conversion application ... could this lead to an interactive Richard Rorty avatar bot? (He was a Stanford professor of comparative literature toward the end of his academic career, and brilliant, and a philosopher - a neo-pragmatist; I've blogged about him with videos of him here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Richard%20Rorty. (See, too https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/rorty/ and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Rorty). Or Jacques Lacan ~MD (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Lacan) or George Ludovic Alexander MD avatar bots (and Yale College graduate) for interactive conversation, and even Lacanian psychoanalysis - in some years? Possibly. George, also philosophically-minded and a kind of genius psychiatrist (intelligence for him was problem solving, and he was very understanding and skillful with languages, as well as an ironic and a critical thinker), was an appreciator of Richard Rorty, particularly his "Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature" (1979). The only publication I know of by him is in Friends' Journal entitled "Separation of Church and State" - https://www.friendsjournal.org/separation-church-and-state/ (2008). George in his fluid thinking, would stand by the Desiderata (by Max Ehrmann) - http://mwkworks.com/desiderata.html - and one of my last memories of him in his home in a Quaker center outside of Philadelphia was standing by the Desiderata framed on his wall (like a medical student standing by his/her poster of research).

{I found it interesting over the years in talking with George (as friend / family friend) how he could readily observe in conversation that something one said, for example, if one was expressing an interesting, imaginative idea - was a FANTASY - and that this could then lead to a developing conversation/clarifications how and why per the conversation and re the other two Lacanian registers
( a) symbolic/language & b) real) and almost philosophically (and sometimes for me in slightly dialectical/critical thinking ways even)}.

On with my poetry book assemblage ~ "Haiku-ish and Other Loving Hippie Harbin Poetry"! In this process, I'm recalling particular poems I've written that express a feelings / experiences that in words I think somehow soar ... Almost all of my poems are here -
https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/poetry.

Charlotte is an excellent, knowledgable, literary and very experienced word smith as English to French translator. Both of her parents were wordsmith's too, as well as published authors, but her father as a professor of English was especially skillful with word ... probably contributes to the potential prize Mathias Énard's "Compass" (translated by Charlotte) may win.

Curious how my upcoming poetry book, which will be much shorter than Harbin ethnographic book, but also beautiful I hope, will get translated, say, into French (before WUaS's universal translator is
working well enough for poetry)!

You can get Naked Harbin Ethnography (in the Academic Press at WUaS) here ~ http://bit.ly/HarbinBook or here ~ http://amazon.com/author/scottmacleodworlduniversity … And visit the Harbin Gate here ~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ~ in the beginning realistic virtual Harbin (and from here too ~ https://twitter.com/HarbinBook).

Just followed up about my Harbin book review with Visual Anthropology's editor, P.H., whom I met with UC Berkeley Professor Emeritus Nelson Graburn before my talk a few weeks ago in the Cal Anthropology department.

(New water filtration system for my place in Canyon from Ikea's? Ikea thinks differently and in smart ways - but no, they don't carry them any more. Just went into the Ikea near Stanford and am struck by how diverse it is consumer-wise, but they don't carry this. So I may get a new Brita pitcher just to increase the chances that the seal between filter and my pitcher is tight, since my current pitcher is years' old, and the "calcification" stuff in the water has accumulated around the base of the Brita-filter-holder too).

Headed to the new and glorious Stanford Bing auditorium (it's like an egg, with seating like a vineyard) to hear Stanford's CCRMA - https://events.stanford.edu/events/667/66741/ - their electronic music center (Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics). Bing auditorium photos are here -
http://news.stanford.edu/pr/2013/pr-bing-hall-fanfare-010813.html and
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bing_Concert_Hall and
https://live.stanford.edu/content/stanford-live-bing-concert-hall-press-kit. Very cool aural scapes, with an amazing speaker system!

Hearing a lot of good music at Stanford these days, mostly performed by students, which is great {and which is free, so even better}, but the quarter ends soon on June 7th.

How is your weekend going?

L,
Scott

Welcome home!

Have you already emailed the sheet music for Monday, 5/29? Because I was off some of the lists for a while recently, I'm checking. Thank you!

Happy music-making :)

Thank you, Patti!

Bruno Latour's Twitter @LatourBot - https://twitter.com/LatourBot - often machine translates 140 characters from his many books from French into English with interesting garble. I wonder how World University and School's planned universal translator - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/WUaS_Universal_Translator - (and for poetry as well eventually - like a professional translator) will navigate the "garble" language.

Walpole Wilderness Area: Online Teaching Hospitals in all Countries' Official Languages' Collaboration between Stanford Medicine and WUaS Medical Schools?, Stanford Medicine's FND Clinical Trial in Virtual Reality, For this WUaS teaching hospital in multiple languages in a Google Streetview + realistic virtual world, for example, remote surgery could occur (first in veterinary medicine situations) re Stanford's SIMECII, Example of my Harbin Hot Springs' field site in Google Streetview - before it develops, Online libraries - for medicine especially - in all 8,444 languages and for STEM research, Google's ecosystem would make possible TensorFlow and Google Neural Machine Translation among many, many other scalable AI / machine learning big data online teaching hospital developments

... re http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/05/currumbin-wildlife-sanctuary-online.html.

Exciting to see that Stanford Medicine is doing a clinical trial on FND in VR - https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02764476 - which I found here - http://med.stanford.edu/psychiatry/patient_care/vrc.html - and in the - https://www.psious.com/ - digital mask.

It would be great to talk further about co-developing online teaching hospitals in all countries' official languages in a WUaS Medical Schools / Stanford Medicine VR collaboration. Conceptually, this would be like Google Streetview/Maps/Earth with Time Slider, with OpenSim/Second Life (but realistic) for group build-ability and avatars, and in all 8k languages, and also at the cellular and atomic levels.

For the cellular / molecular level and brain-research (potentially with brainwave headsets for studies, for example, from people's homes in all ~ 8,444 languages - per Glottolog), think Thomas Dean's Google Brain research (https://research.google.com/pubs/author189.html and https://archive.org/details/Redwood_Center_2013_04_19_Tom_Dean), and at the atomic / nano levels, think MIT's Ed Boyden's work on expansion microscopy (https://www.media.mit.edu/research/highlights/expansion-microscopy and https://twitter.com/eboyden3) - all coming together in brain modeling in this realistic virtual earth, for example. Another part of this collaboration would include developing this realistic virtual earth for STEM research - for what I'm calling ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy (http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy) where STEM researchers in many languages could add their computer modeling, carry out studies, and add data  - and which would also be "classrooms" in all languages.

For this teaching hospital in multiple languages in this Google Streetview + realistic virtual world,  for example, remote surgery could occur (first in veterinary medicine situations) re Stanford's SIMECII - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/05/frigatebird-saw-my-first-robotic.html.

Here's an example of my Harbin Hot Springs' field site in Google Streetview - https://twitter.com/HarbinBook (top left link) - before it develops (which is what my recent actual / virtual ethnographic book is about - http://bit.ly/HarbinBook).

WUaS also seeks to develop online libraries - for medicine especially - in all 8,444 languages and for STEM research (and matriculated students re scientific journals) in something like Google Streetview with time slider. See, for example - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/03/verreauxs-eagle-moving-digital-objects.html.

Google's ecosystem would make possible TensorFlow and Google Neural Machine Translation among many, many other scalable AI / machine learning big data online teaching hospital developments.

Looking forward to communicating further about this.

Best, Scott

Dear Kim and Juliana,

Thanks very much for your edifying Stanford Medicine "Functional Neurological Disorder" talk yesterday - https://events.stanford.edu/events/679/67955/. It was a great opportunity to meet you in the interesting culture of Stanford psychiatry. Thank you.

Per modeling the brain in a realistic virtual world, and at the atomic and neuronal levels, for example, here's Google/Stanford's Tom Dean's talk from the Stanford Neuroscience talk last October 14th -
http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/03/molecule-stanford-googles-tom-dean.html. I hope you can connect with Stanford's Bill Newsome re exploring modeling the brain for epilepsy, since I think he knows Stanford researchers who are thinking about this.

(And here's where I've posted most about modeling the brain, and brain-related issues -
http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Brain - in a realistic virtual world - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/virtual%20world).

I blogged about your presentation yesterday, in response to a good friend who was an Stanford undergraduate in the early 1970s, a time I study and am interested at Stanford in socioculturally -
http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/05/currumbin-wildlife-sanctuary-online.html.

It would be very interesting to talk further about FND, neurology and Stanford psychiatry and concerning World University and School's planning an online medical school with online teaching hospital in all countries' official languages - and with online psychoanalysis in all languages. For this, WUaS is planning an online post-Lacanian California School of Psychoanalysis, also in all countries' official languages, and it could even be fascinating to create a study group together to explore how we might theorize this further. Might you have interest in exploring this together? Thank you, Juliana and Kim.

Best regards,
Scott

From neurology to psychiatry

Your emotional state has powerful control over your body — and Kim Bullock, MD, knows just how strong that hold can be. Hi Donald,

Makes me glad (somehow connected) to get your email. Glad you're doing well. Am an appreciator of your f/Friendly (and 1970's Stanford-informed) thoughtfulness and understanding. Thanks.

Thanks too for the heads' up re Jordan Peterson's talks on Youtube (i.e. Maps of Meaning and his Personality course). I haven't heard about his thinking. Am a little curious re these talks about creating an online worldwide California School of Psychoanalysis  / Psychiatry at WUaS in all ~200 countries' official languages, emerging even out of Stanford Medical School, if at all possible. Heard two interesting Psychiatry MDs speak yesterday evening in the Stanford Medical School's hospital Hoover Pavilion (first time I had been in this historic and old hospital, opened in 1931) - on Functional Neurological Disorder - https://events.stanford.edu/events/679/67955/. See, too, re a California School of Psychoanalysis at WUaS - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/01/pollination-new-online-california.html.

Language, language, language (re Lacan) ...

Besides gender issues, and being post-Lacanian (https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/lacan/) - where for Lacan the unconscious is structured like a language, and where at WUaS's Psychoanalysis School this may refer to brain processes and brain modeling at the atomic and neuronal levels in a 3D interactive virtual earth (think Google Streetview with time slider + in this blog ... ) - this school would include a focus on language as information technology, possibly avatar bots eventually for therapy (think MIT's Kate Darling and Cynthia Breazeal's work on affect and robots), build on John Money's "Concepts of Determinism" (http://scottmacleod.com/JohnMoneyConceptsOfDeterminism.html) work + as well as build on primatology (e.g. social and biological comparisons with our closest genetic relatives - Pan, Gorilla, Orangutan) re therapeutic outcomes, neurophysiology {especially eliciting the neurophysiology of loving bliss - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Loving_Bliss_(eliciting_this_neurophysiology) - and many other related qualities of neural cascades of pleasure, with MDMA as a reference}, evolutionary biology, sexuality, social psychology, agency, "ecology of attention" phrase and omega 3s, too, socioculture anthropology, a Dawkins-informed conception of "memes," and modeling the brain / mind for psychological / psychiatric academic and clinical work in a realistic virtual earth - for STEM research in all 8,444 languages, and as a classroom. This psychoanalytic school would also focus on understanding and modeling consciousness, re philosophy of mind questions (particularly New Mysterianism). And it would build on what the oldest psychiatric hospital in the U.S. - the Friends' Psychiatric Hospital in Philadelphia - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2014/05/eastern-cottonhead-rabbit-building-on.html - has learned and practices (and as a Quaker hospital of the bodymind). It would also focus on helping countries with serious shortages of psychiatrists and psychoanalysts, such as in Africa - https://plus.google.com/+ScottMacLeodWUaS/posts/EYjftpUh7NM - and possibly in parts of Asia. It would potentially also engage local healing traditions, as well as yoga. A Taoist~A&V Yoga~Asana Psychoanalytic School at WUaS in the WUaS School of Psychiatry that is deeply caring? In part, potentially.

I tune into Richard Dawkins' Twitter feed at times - https://twitter.com/RichardDawkins (e.g. https://twitter.com/RichardDawkins/status/867355632449540096) - re Sam Harris's atheism, and found Dawkin's recent posts about Daniel Dennett's new book interesting - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/03/newnes-and-wolgan-valley-nsw-whats.html and http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/03/african-grey-parrot-new-approaches-to.html.

Am curious how Stanford Medicine Psychiatry navigates questions of serving individuals of many genders "in" the following groups: Muslim-Americans (India-centric +?), African Americans, Latino Americans, Jewish Americans, gentile Americans, LGTBQ Americans and Asian American psychiatric needs (among others), in conjunction with biological/brain psychiatric questions (e.g. epilepsy).

Glad you're doing well,
Scott

Jordan Peterson is a colorful smart Canadian professor raconteur! Kind of a trip ... and gets into serious issues of morality and philosophy, for example, in a very personalized vivid northern Canadian way with his students. Interesting use of the Internet and video to share his teachings - and to publish, in a sense.

Chimpanzee discussion around 40 minutes is also interesting ...

Hi M,

...

After yesterday evening's Stanford Medicine Psychiatry talk, which could have been, in Stanford's inimitable way (since it was video-taped) - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/05/currumbin-wildlife-sanctuary-online.html - a kind of outreach or marketing or position on FND (Functional Neurological Disorder), but was also a great opportunity to meet and connect and network with two smart psychiatrists/neurologists there in the interesting, excellent, California, Stanford culture of psychiatry.

Brown bear: Stanford/SFUSD pilot project for a first year of college - and with WUaS?, Free highest quality college for SFUSD graduates online?, Stanford helping to develop a first year of college STEM curriculum with CC MIT OCW-centric World University and School - and in the 3 languages, Lizzy, that you said the SFUSD is in (English, Spanish and Chinese - as is MIT OCW) - such that it would build out of what is taught at the middle school and high school levels at SFUSD?, How would you suggest co-developing this, and even finding 20 or more students this autumn in each language?

Dear Laura, Lizzy and Janet,

Thanks for your fascinating CSET presentation "When Researchers and Practitioners Design and Implement Together: An SFUSD/Stanford Partnership to Improve Math Teaching and Learning" yesterday - https://ed.stanford.edu/events/csets-pondering-excellence-teaching-5. I enjoyed listening to the focused depth of thinking and conversation of everyone in the group with regard to learning and designing mathematics' instruction. As a broad followup to my question about what pragmatic questions you might be asking in 5 years, different from your current ones (in this 3rd iteration of them!), I'm writing to inquire about how your math design and implementation focus at the middle school level could lead to anticipating a free first year of college for SFUSD/Stanford students.

I'm writing to inquire about a possible collaboration in these regards: might it be possible please to co-develop a first year of college STEM curriculum with CC MIT OCW-centric World University and School - and in the 3 languages, Lizzy, that you said the SFUSD is in (i.e. English, Spanish and Chinese - as is MIT OCW ... in English - https://ocw.mit.edu - Spanish - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/translated-courses/spanish/ - and Chinese - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/translated-courses/traditional-chinese/) - such that it would build out of what is taught at the middle school and high school levels at SFUSD?

This could greatly benefit SFUSD college-bound students, and focus further pragmatic questions re math/STEM SFUSD developments into the future as well. And SFUSD college-bound students would get a free online CC MIT OCW / Stanford (with WUaS's MIT OCW-centricity). And this would also create new highest quality online academic and STEM teaching jobs for Stanford graduate students - to complement the online highest quality university resources of MIT OCW, by creating another option besides Stanford, University of California, California State University California Community Colleges, and other great private universities and colleges in California, for example. If it were possible to begin this autumn with a pilot program (since most of the courses already exist at MIT OCW in these three languages), how would you suggest co-developing this, and even finding 20 or more students this autumn in each language?

Thank you for an excellent panel.

Best regards,
Scott

Atanga - African pear: WUaS developing a first year undergraduate course of study in all 3 of WUaS's pilot languages of English, Spanish and Chinese - say of 10 courses in each language, but no CC MIT OCW-into-MITx mineshaft this year ... :), Geology of gold deposits: If CC MIT OCW is the gold mine or motherlode ...

Dear Enrique, Cecilia, Anant and Larry,

Thanks so much for our conversation today, Enrique. As a recap, the sub-licensing language of MITx which Cecilia had mentioned in passing recently for MITx-out-of-CC-MIT-OCW isn't currently possible, but might be possible in the future if WUaS were able to generate a successful pilot project this upcoming year, for example. And this might include, for example, WUaS developing a first year undergraduate course of study (potentially in all 3 of WUaS's pilot languages of English, Spanish and Chinese - say of 10 courses in each language ... https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/translated-courses/) toward free CC MIT OCW-centric and CC Yale OYC-centric undergraduate WUaS Bachelor degrees. If WUaS is able to accomplish this, WUaS might be able to re-examine sub-licensing the free CC4 MIT OCW-into-MITx courses here - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mitx-related-courseware/ - for both Bachelor's and Ph.D. degrees, and potentially in many languages.

As for funding language, Cecilia's and my previous correspondence and the CC4 licensing of MIT OpenCourseWare license CC World University and School to seek donations by fundraising from governments (e.g. Ministries of Education) in all ~200 countries official languages, - re reimbursement if asked, potentially using Yale's $51,400 per student/year per GDP as a benchmark, for example. And this is language that meets the CC MIT OCW licensing attributes, as I understand it from our conversation.

Per Cecilia, we are including the following in all our web page development:

"MIT OCW Creative Commons' licensing and endorsement clarifications:

a) MIT is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, World University and School b) MIT does not offer credit to WUaS students, and c) All MIT OpenCourseWare materials are available for free through http://ocw.mit.edu)"

Re further clarification, at this point WUaS can begin to develop, share and adapt the CC MIT OCW in multiple languages in Wikidata/MediaWiki  and with regard, for example, to the MIT OCW information in World University and School's course catalog - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VRHhXYsk-V9lvSh5onaU2hnEhwoapSN7HyBK1P09LIk/edit?usp=sharing (accessible here http://worlduniversityandschool.org).

Thank you.

Sincerely, Scott

Hello Scott,

As I’ve said before, we encourage innovative uses of MIT OCW materials by educational initiatives such as yours as long as you comply with the MIT OCW terms and conditions (see http://ocw.mit.edu/terms/) including a) our Creative Commons license (attribution-noncommercial-sharealike) and b) the restrictions on Use of MIT Name.

We also request that you add language to the WUaS web site and related materials to make it totally clear to prospective students that a) MIT is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, the World University, b) that MIT does not offer credit to WAuS students, and c) that all MIT OpenCourseWare materials are available for free through http://ocw.mit.edu

Incorporating OCW URLs in a course catalog to point to OCW courses and incorporating OCW materials in a wiki, as long as this is done in a way that is consistent with MIT OCW terms and conditions, and as long as it is clear to the students that MIT is not affiliated with WUaS, should be okay.

It is not okay under the non-commercial restriction of the OCW Creative Commons license to package OCW materials and sell these as books or as courses or to sell access to these materials online to your students.
As for MITx on edX online courses (MOOCS), if you wish to use these in your curriculum, I suggest you reach out to the Head of Strategic Relationships within the MIT Office of Digital Learning. He can talk to you about your requirements for sublicensing MITx courses for use in your curriculum.  It is important to note that the MITx courses on edX are NOT licensed with a Creative Commons license so reuse by institutions requires a specific license from MIT. He can talk to you about options and pricing.

Here is his contact information
Enrique Shadah

Best,
Cecilia
