Dunckerocampus (pipefish): Stanford talk - Prof. James Sethna - "Sloppy models, Differential geometry, and How Science Works", Optimal Experimentation in an interactive realistic virtual earth, In what ways could one develop B.F. Skinner's behaviorist experiments in a realistic virtual earth, such that one could replicate their results virtually?, "ONE EARTH" ~ ONE ACTUAL < > VIRTUAL EARTH, After the Stanford Law CodeX meeting on 2/22/18 , New Science?

Thanks for your fascinating Stanford talk "Sloppy models, Differential geometry, and How Science Works" on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 - http://events.stanford.edu/events/731/73181/. Very nice to meet you afterward in passing as well. And thanks for inviting me to send you an email about the following.

Per my question in the Q&A: how best to begin to develop an interactive realistic virtual earth/universe for (optimal) experimentation - and with regard to computational biology, and differential geometry?

Think Google Street View with TIME SLIDER, Maps, Earth, Brain, Hangouts-into-Avatar-Bots, and which is group build-able like Minecraft (with a virtual-actual correspondence with Lego and the physical), Second Life/OpenSim (but realistic, not cartoon-esque) - and at the cellular and atomic levels too. (This would be a STEM field site and classrooms. Visit the Harbin Hot Springs' gate, for example, here, in Google Street View ~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ... accessible from here: https://twitter.com/HarbinBook?lang=en ~ and "walk" down the road 4 miles to Middletown, CA. to get an early view of where this might be heading, but where one can't yet drill down into a tree, for example, to the cellular or atomic levels).

I hope such a realistic virtual earth with SPECIES and again at the cellular and atomic levels will eventually be used for tele-medicine and, for example, even robotic surgery. CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare-centric World University and School, which I'm developing, is planning online medical schools with online teaching hospitals in all ~200 countries' official languages.

And this interactive realistic virtual earth planned at the cellular and atomic levels, would also be for bioengineering, for example, again with all species, and could thus facilitate further experimentation (see the WUaS Swiki subjects for biomedical engineering and experimentation here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Biological_Engineering and https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Experimentation - and their related MIT OCW courses, which may eventually entail students to help develop this project).

While some of the BF Skinner resources, and my thinking about this thus far, may be of help here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/11/jack-pine-bf-skinner-and-operant.html (and here at bottom for further "sloppiness" - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/11/myosotis-three-resources-on-blockchain.html - in the "experiment" label in my blog) - I'm particularly curious about the following.

In what ways could one develop Skinner's behaviorist experiments in a realistic virtual earth, such that one could replicate their results virtually? Furthermore, in what ways could one convert all videos of Skinner's experiments into a 3D interactive virtual world with a new conversion application/program such that with this, could one then design new behaviorist experiments with virtual pigeons and mice? And lastly, in what ways could one, with computational biology, connect the learning that would occur here virtually - with these virtual schedules of reinforcement (seems ripe for differential geometry) - with virtual pigeon and mice brain neurophysiology, as a fairly new development of Skinner's behaviorist experiments, and at the cellular and the atomic levels to trace, and experiment anew, with neural pathways of learning, among many other things?

From these virtual behaviorist experiments, I think one could develop all kinds of other virtual rigorous optimal experimentation in an interactive realistic virtual earth.

(In my actual <> virtual Harbin Hot Springs' ethnographic project ~ http://bit.ly/HarbinBook ~ I'm particular interested in the brain chemistry that can occur in the Harbin warm pool re questions of eliciting bliss - e.g. https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Loving_Bliss_(eliciting_this_neurophysiology) -  and would like to examine this virtually, and potentially physically with brain wave head sets, for example, while people are soaking A) in the Harbin warm pool, or B) in their bath tubs at home, while visiting Harbin actually or virtually. I see this as remarkably fertile ground for experimentation as well, if the interactive realistic virtual earth at the cellular and atomic levels was developed enough as STEM tools). What are natural bliss in the brain, musical bliss, and even re X, for example, computation biologically, neuro-chemically and experimentally? And can we human primates, for example, learn how to elicit bliss naturally - with virtual schedules of reinforcement?

How best to develop a realistic virtual earth for optimal experimentation with computational biology and differential geometry?

Thank you again for your excellent talk, and very nice to meet you.

I hope your visit to Stanford was salutary, and looking forward very much to communicating further about all of this with time. (I haven't yet heard back about a MIT Media Lab faculty position I've applied for, and hope to be in Cambridge this autumn, and back in California for actual / virtual Harbin research in January).

Best regards,
Scott

One Virtual Earth

One Virtual Universe

It won't be the same

helluva database

everything is so fragmented ~
all of this amazing computer STEM modeling of the earth is distributed on every body's hard drives and so spread out!

One Earth, One Universe!

Dear Axel, Roland, Denny, and Markus,

Great to talk with you after the interesting Stanford Law CodeX meeting yesterday, Axel - https://law.stanford.edu/2018/02/20/codex-meeting-2-22/

I also would like to introduce you all here, if you don't know each other. Axel is a visiting researcher at Stanford, Roland is the Executive Director of CodeX and a faculty member at Stanford Law School, and Denny and Markus are founders of Wikidata / Wikibase (as I understand this) and Denny works at Google now, while Markus and Axel are both computer science Professors in Germany and Austria.

Axel, and all, as insight in Austria World University and School, which will become accessible from here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nation_States - and at a key moment of WUaS developing in our new WUaS Miraheze Mediawiki and with / INTO Wikidata/Wikibase, with WUaS's SUBJECT TEMPLATE - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/SUBJECT_TEMPLATE (from the old WUaS Wikia wiki which WUaS is migrating from, and which has about 726 wiki subject pages), here's Germany WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Germany - but which not yet in German too.

Question: How best to code the WUaS Miraheze Mediawiki SUBJECT_TEMPLATE with Wikidata/Wikibase, and anticipating all 298 of Wikipedia's languages, and eventually all 7,099 living languages? Translation of the section headings will be part of this, but I'm not sure which section headings will get a Q-item, for example. Which section headings and what else might get Q-items? And how best also, at this stage, to plan for 7.5 billion endusers / learners / Universitians, and in each of all 7,099 living languages - via the SUBJECT TEMPLATE with Wikidata/Wikibase, so we can start registering students and creating transcripts linked to the MIT OCW courses, for example?

And in particular, which of these many academic and creative wiki subjects for open teaching and learning - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects - (was: http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Subjects) will get a Q-item and how will this develop inter-lingually?

On Valentine's Day, John Lewis added some new developers to our Phabricator page here - https://phabricator.miraheze.org/T2276 - "Develop SUBJECT TEMPLATE re WUaS Miraheze Mediawiki" ... but this page isn't very active yet.

I also just want to follow up with some "innovations" with regards to both World University and School as well as the creation of a realistic virtual earth at the street view, cellular, and atomic levels as a STEM field site, planned in all ~200 countries' languages, and in all 7,099 living languages, and in all 8475 entries in languages.

Here's the "global university" label in my blog - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/global%20university.

And here's the "virtual world" label from my blog - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/virtual%20world.

And here too is World University and School's blog itself - https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/.

Any chance I could please begin adding new wiki Subject pages, like the Regions' page (http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Regions), newly in WUaS Miraheze Mediawiki WITH Wikidata / Wikibase - as well as already registered / matriculated students at World University and School (for free CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare-centric online degrees)? And any chance that any of you know a student or post-Doc, from Austria, for example, (such as Bernhard Waitl was), who could help develop Austria WUaS in German?

Thank you!

Best regards, Scott
