Could BPPE / WASC senior - with World University and School - become an online international accreditation model, comparable with the International Baccalaureate high school diploma?

Hi Michaela, Dagmar and GABA,

Like I.B. high schools in many countries' official languages and re, -

"We just returned from 2 years in Germany and our son finished his high school years there. But we sent him to an IB school that is internationally accredited"

- are you considering any universities that are internationally accredited? Are any universities internationally accredited like international baccalaureate high schools?

Where would Stanford or MIT or Oxbridge or LMU in Munich, for example, fit into this concept of universities that are internationally accredited? (I ask with free-to-students' online CC-4 MIT OCW-centric in its 5 languages World University and School in mind).

... for when your daughter gets to applying to Colleges, for example ( https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School )?

WUaS would eventually create too an online German IB Gymnasium / high school in German (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/WUaS_International_Baccalaureate_Diploma_and_Programme), and where students could matriculate from this to German Universities (and in all ~200 countries' official / main languages - and which are CC-4 MIT OCW high school-centric).

Presently, WUaS is seeking to matriculate our 2nd undergraduate class to accrediting with BPPE and WASC senior (like Stanford and UC Berkeley and the UCs) in the autumn of 2019.

Again, could BPPE / WASC senior - with World University and School - become an online international accreditation model, comparable with the International Baccalaureate degree - each of all ~200 countries?

Hi Jing, Nelson, Jaume, Dean and All,

Great, and thanks for your email confirming my giving a UC Berkeley TSWG talk this autumn on Friday, October 26th (since the 12th wouldn't work due to World University and School's open Annual Meeting (since 2010!) on Saturday, October 13th at 9 am PT).

"Harbin & Avatar Bots: Robotics & Tourism"  is the working title of my talk. I'll email you with everything else needed in the next few days - http://tourismstudies.org/People.htm#SM . Will update the ongoing calendar of my actual-virtual Harbin hot springs' project talks here - http://www.scottmacleod.com/ActualVirtualHarbinBook.html - as well. This will be the fourth-fifth Harbin talk in the Gifford Room since 2012 - all of which are here - http://bit.ly/HarbinBook .

Visit the Harbin gate in Google Street View here ~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg ~ https://twitter.com/HarbinBook ~ where you can "walk" down the road '4 miles' to Middletown and 'amble' around the streets there, if inclined).

Thank you,
Scott

P.S. Here are some related wiki subjects at WUaS (but which are not yet in other languages) -

Re updating my bio here -
http://tourismstudies.org/People.htm#SM ...

Scott G.K. MacLeod is an American academic and Professor of Sociocultural Anthropology at World University and School - http:// worlduniversityandschool.org. He's taught "Network Society, Information Technology and the Global University" on Harvard University's virtual island, and on Penn State Isle in Second Life as a Penn State University instructor. He's taught both anthropology and sociology in real life at Chatham University, the University of Pittsburgh, and at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He received a Master's Degree in anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Diploma of Research from the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on the information technology network society age, the world wide web cosmos, the virtual, and actual-virtual Harbin Hot Springs, seeking to facilitate the development of a realistic virtual earth for STEM research, and as classrooms (Think Google Street View with time slider +). He is World University and School's founder, president and CEO. WUaS forked successfully in 2017 into a second legal entity, the WUaS Press / Corp, planned with machine translation in all 7,097 living languages. Wiki World University and School is CC-4 MIT OCW-centric (in 5 languages) and CC Yale OYC-centric and seeks to develop major universities in all ~200 countries' main and official languages, as well as wiki schools in all 7,097 living languages too; WUaS plans to offer online CC OCW Bachelor, Ph.D., law, M.D. as well as I.B. high school degrees, partly in group video.

Dear Tanya,

Re the WUaS course you're now taking toward your undergraduate degree:

Technology-based Business Transformation

Hi Tanya,

Brainstorming-wise, here's a possible project that comes to mind with your course, and upcoming project re "The critical role of technology-based, disruptive innovations to a business":

Since you're familiar with the online education industry re WUaS, please consider asking some of these questions - http://www.tanyatomato.com/2018/09/project.html - for your project re WUaS. One possible practical approach might have to do with an already existing relatively robust platform such as edX - and particularly with regard to their use of CC-4 MIT OCW into MITx - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mitx-related-courseware/ - and further how a collaboration between MITx and WUaS might occur around the CC-4 MIT OCW, making this available to students in countries around the world first in English, and also in seeking reimbursement from Ministries of Education per student per year for A) undergraduate Bachelor's degrees (about 40 courses over 4 years), and B) Ph.D. over 6-7 years in all ~200 countries. What further courses would be helpful for students in MITx for WUaS's six majors - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - etc? WUaS and edX via CC-4 MIT OCW into MITx - in ~200 countries' languages?

A realistic virtual earth as classrooms and STEM field site (think Google Street View with time slider / Maps / Earth) could be a further element to this. How to turn this both WUaS and a realistic virtual earth as disruptive technologies into strategies?

You may well have other projects in mind, but this is an interesting relevant one that could lead to further career steps at WUaS, for example.

Cheers, Scott

Dear Professor Hennessy,

Thank you again for your excellent and marvelous Computer History Museum interview with Marissa on Thursday, about which I blogged here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/09/san-francisco-forktail-ischnura-gemina.html - and very nice to see you in the morning at the Stanford Law SVDX event as well.

Very nice to have met you in person first at Steve Denning's "Stanford's What Matters to Me and Why" talk not too long ago as well. And thank you too for considering coming on the World University and School Board, and incubating WUaS as well, when I invited you to do so about 2 years ago, while you were still President of Stanford.

I'm writing to inquire about a possible position at Stanford. I've been in communication with Mark Nelson at the Stanford Peace Innovation Institute about this - and a possible Peace Data Standard / Tokens /  Credits and with regard to SPII. Having attended a meeting with regard to this, and re this agenda doc - with the SPII in August, and in further planning to meet with them again on September 25th, which agenda includes my seeking a position at Stanford to facilitate hiring Stanford graduate students to help develop much of this, for example, I'm now exploring the possibility of developing a joint academic teaching position A) in the Stanford GSE - and also with regard to developing online CC-4 MIT OCW-centric (in its 5 languages) World University and School with teachers trained at Stanford - and B) potentially with a joint appointment in the Stanford Anthropology department re, for ex. - https://ed.stanford.edu/faculty-research-interests/Anthropology%20and%20Education - since my recent actual-virtual ethnographic book explores questions of how to create a realistic virtual earth (think Google Street View with time slider / Maps / Earth, with avatar bots + the Alphabet / Google ecosystem+) as classrooms and STEM field sites.

Having applied for a MIT Media Lab faculty position last December 2017, I'm emailing you those documents for your perusal.

Stanford would benefit from some fraction of the $46,320 per year per student it costs for tuition to go to Stanford/Harvard/MIT/, reimbursed  to WUaS by countries around the world - due to the CC-4 MIT OCW licensing. World University seeks to become the Harvard / MIT / Stanford / Oxbridge of the Internet and by accrediting in all ~200 countries' main languages for free-to-students' Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, M.D. and I.B. high school degrees. And Alphabet would benefit from the WUaS Press / Corp's planned for-profit, general stock revenue streams - https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2016/01/14-planned-wuas-revenue-streams.html - in all ~200 countries' official languages, and indeed in all 7,097 living languages.

How best to communicate about this further?

Thank you very much, and looking forward to hearing you speak again soon.

Sincerely,
Scott MacLeod
