Thanks for this session on Google Maps and Google Earth. Appears that it's at 7 am Eastern Time USA on Monday (and 4am Pacific Time in California, where I may move back to in September, since I'm in asylum in Pennsylvania, as a whistleblower).

Just adding some pictures from a visit 2 weeks ago to 'Berkeley Springs State Park' in nearby West Virginia in Google Street View which is Google Maps ... 

(and will do so from smartphone)

What I'm seeking to develop further is a new social theory and method for all of us creating a realistic virtual earth in Google Street View with a time slider, and for research which I'm calling ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy - 
(where 
'ethnography' is an interpretive academic writing practice about people)
'wiki' - means in Hawaiian 'fast' ... and with regards to Wikipedia affords the opportunity to add, curate, co-write, and co-create an article like in an Encyclopedia 
'virtual world' refers to the many 3D virtual worlds that have emerged in gaming and similar over the past 3 decades from SimCity forward ... )

and, for me, regarding also all of us co-creating a realistic virtual Harbin Hot Springs, and re my first large anthropological book -

It's when all these iterating pictures are pieced together into one big seem-less iterating realistic virtual earth that we'll all be able to visit places and learn about them anywhere - and add further video for learning and teaching purposes +

We cordially invite you to our Professional Development session on Google Maps and Earth. This session will be held both face-to-face and virtually online at the Tech Kidz Africa hub in Ratna Square Nyali, Mombasa, and live-streamed on the GEG Kenya YouTube channel.

This PD session will provide an overview of the tools and demonstrate how to use them for different tasks. Join us to learn how to utilize these amazing tools to explore the world and spaces in the virtual world.

The session is scheduled for 8th May 2023, from 2 pm to 4 pm East Africa Time (EAT) which is 4:30pm to 6:30pm IST
