Tablelands: WUaS Corporation Board Meeting from Stanford? WUaS is in Google Suite for Education, N-P World Univ and Sch is awaiting a "knowledge panel" with Donate Button from Google, Coursera seems to be heading for Google IT support per Andrew Ng, and (Apple's) Woz U too per Google's head Sundar Pichai, In what ways could WUaS best bring to the table CC-4 MIT OCW in its 5-7 languages, with Stanford for Medicine and Law OCW, for these degrees - Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, Medicine and I.B. high school, in ~200 nation states and their official/main languages - and with Wikipedia/Wikidata's 299 languages, to plan and build wiki schools in all 7,099 living languages / 8,461 entries in languages?, Google's Sindar Pichai USA Today article by Reed College's Jessica Guynn about education and jobs, "Finding / creating a job you really love" wiki subject at WUaS, Wondering too if somehow Google / Alphabet's Chairman, Eric Schmidt, who just stepped down as executive chariman of Alphabet could take the WUaS Corporation public in all ~200 countries' official/main languages, Jessica Guynn, Senior technology writer, USA TODAY

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for your emails. WUaS Corporation Board Meeting from Stanford soon? (I think we'll keep Hong Kong and Romania time zones in mind).

Yes, WUaS's emails - e.g. like info@worlduniversityandschool.org - are in Google Suite for Education email, which worlduniversityandschool.org has been "registered" in for a couple of years now.

I'm creating a new F-P WUaS Co email address - probably in Gmail to come - and re WUaS's 10 F-P planned revenue streams in all ~200 countries' official languages and all 7,099 living languages - https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com/2017/06/wuas-corporations-10-planned-for-profit.html

As you may have seen in recent minutes/announcements, N-P World Univ and Sch is awaiting a "knowledge panel" with Donate Button from Google on our non-profit side, (which is what N-P World Univ and Sch is in in Google Education).

F-P WUaS Co may also get a Google "knowledge panel" too eventually.

And like Coursera which seems to be heading for Google IT support - https://twitter.com/AndrewYNg/status/954031734969921536 - and (Apple's) Woz U too per Google's head Sundar Pichai - https://twitter.com/jguynn/status/954464049202278400 - (who was just in Pittsburgh, PA at Google per this article, and where Sundar first landed in the US when he came from India, and where I also first started talking about WUaS back around 2007) - so WUaS may head in this Google Educaction direction too for the A) F-P WUaS Co and B) N-P World University and School.

Thanks for your thinking. Will keep you posted about the upcoming WUaS Co Board Meeting, hopefully from Stanford with you in Hong Kong.

Best, Scott

Jessica:

Nice to e-meet you.

Re LinkedIn this morning: I just retweeted your Google's Sundar Pichai Tweet - https://twitter.com/jguynn/status/954464049202278400 (re "Google to give $1 billion to nonprofits and help Americans get jobs in the new economy" https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2017/10/12/google-give-1-billion-nonprofits-help-americans-get-jobs-new-economy/756703001/) - here - https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch - and blogged today about it today - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/01/tablelands-wuas-corporation-board.html - too. I went to Reed from '79-85 (and lived in a Reed house until 1987), so we overlapped in Portland a bit (and there's a "Reed College" label in my blog as well).

(See, too - "Google CEO Sundar Pichai: Digital technology must empower workers, not alienate them: Coding alone will not prepare workers for our tech-filled future" ... https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/digital-technology-must-empower-next-generation-workers-not-alienate-them-ncna838806 ... https://twitter.com/sundarpichai/status/954090982437343232).

Do you go to the Stanford Law / Rock Center SVDX meetings on the 3rd Thursdays per the picture in the background of your Twitter profile - https://twitter.com/jguynn? I've gone fairly regularly for the past 2+ years, and would invite you to the next one, if you don't go and are interested. I was just there last Thursday - https://www.svdx.org/calendar/2018/18/january-morning-speaker-series. Were you there, by any chance?

As you'll read in the blog entry above and per your article, I started talking about CC-4 MIT OCW-centric (in its 5 languages) wiki (like Wikipedia in its 299 languages) World University and School in Pittsburgh around 2007 (leaving Pgh in Jan of 2008 to return to write an actual/virtual anthropological book). WUaS not only has a free online University degree focus in all ~200 countries' official/main languages, but also a number of job and career oriented wiki subjects - e.g. http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Finding_/_creating_a_job_you_really_love (soon to move into WUaS's new wiki below) - for open teaching and learning.

May I invite you to the next Stanford Law/Rock Ctr Silicon Valley Directors' Exchange?

Regards, Scott

Wondering too if somehow Google / Alphabet's Chairman, Eric Schmidt, who just stepped down as executive chariman of Alphabet could take the WUaS Corporation public in all ~200 countries' official/main languages ...

Hi Kyle,

Thanks.

Most recent blog post emerges from this email thread with / to you -

Although you're a F-P WUaS Corp Board Member (and we'll see what emerges with D / Stanford and "managing" J, since the officers kind of report to the Board - please befriend J as the opportunity arises - and if Julian becomes the European / Romanian CEO of WUaS Co or similar, if someone like Eric Schmidt could even become WUaS Co's CEO to take the WUaS Corp public), it would be great to learn of your thinking - re N-P World Univ and Sch - over time about how PBL could enhance MIT OCW High School for I.B. degrees in English, Chinese and Spanish to start, and perhaps building off Khan Academy as well as in a Google-centric platform too - conceptually and big picture-wise.

Hi Scott,

Thanks so much for reaching out. Always good to meet a fellow Reedie.

I cover issues of equity, inclusion and diversity for USA Today. The picture in the background of my Twitter profile is an event I put on in 2014 with the Rock Center on that subject with Rev. Jesse Jackson and others (closing the race gap in tech).

Unfortunately your area of focus, which is fascinating, is not on my beat (except to the extent I also cover some of the Internet giants including Google).

All the best,

Hi Jessica,

Likewise re Reed - and thanks for your email and very nice to e-meet you. For your information, World University and School's has a focus academically on "equity, inclusion and diversity," for example, with our Black Studies' wiki page - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Studies (accessible from - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Subjects)  and both soon to move into our new wiki - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nation_States - and planned as major CC-4 MIT OCW-centric universities in all ~200 countries' official languages (a diversity benefit too), and potentially in all 7,099 living languages as wiki schools for open teaching and learning, where wiki is very inclusive, and 7,099 living languages is very diverse.

And WUaS has recently developed a parallel forked for-profit wing - the WUaS Corporation also planned as academic markets in all 8,461 languages - and thus seeks to become an Internet giant in two ways, potentially eventually hiring 1 million people, with 800,000 as student types working 10 hours per week, and 200,000 FTEs re careers - and re equity questions especially.

When the third Thursday in February gets closer, may I invite you to the Stanford Law / Rock SVDX? (There's a field to invite friends in the registration process and it's free - and Stanford Law events in room 290, where this is often held, are often stellar as conversation).

World University and Schools seeks to become the online Harvard / MIT / Stanford of the internet and in each of all ~200 nation states.

All the best, Scott

Hi Jessica,

As a followup, I enjoyed your Google article too about Alphabet's CEO Eric Schmidt stepping down -

And I also blogged a bit about your two Google giant USA Today articles recently here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/01/tablelands-wuas-corporation-board.html . I even wondered in this blog entry if Eric Schmidt could somehow take the WUaS Corp public.

Thank you.

All the best, Scott
