"Are we are talking about eternal youth, eternal old age, or having our cryogenically frozen brains thawed out 2,000 years from now to perform tricks in a future alien zoo?" @Joi muses on transhumanism in his latest @WIRED column.

Hi M,
How's Cuttyhunk, and how are you? And are you in Maine now? How's Sandy?
Am glad to be heading to Oregon and points north soon (tomorrow, and I may head up the coast toward Brookings, Oregon along Hwy 101 taking about 7 hours, and camp out for the fun of it, then to Portland along the Oregon coast the next day) ... will stay with C (in Portland) while at Reed, L (in Yakima) and Ann (at the ranch), but not visit K on the way north in her new home in Orleans, northern California, this trip.
Looking forward to getting underway.
Continuing to circulate re finding a partner. Not sure about Kier. It's possible I might meet someone at Reed from the SF Bay Area even.
Did you get in the water at all?
L, Scott

Hi Kirsten,
Really nice to visit with you at Reed, and hi from my friend L's in Yakima (whom I know from Angela and Victor's Yoga over the decades - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Angela%20and%20Victor%20yoga), and her paradisical hamlet / farm-let with garden in full bloom. (I first took a Yoga course with A & V around 1984).
Nice to find these about you online ...

You seem to be here too - https://twitter.com/kirstensogge1?lang=en :)
You'll find both Gary Snyder and the former Reed President Colin Diver, and some Reed faculty - ie Carla Mann (Dance Prof.), with whom I stayed with (and who was a housemate for about 2.5 years in the early 1980s) in the top photo here from 2011 - https://twitter.com/scottmacleod (and here https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch/status/1005844567030034432) ... if you're interested.
Looking forward to talking further (and about starting a bookstore / potentially a chocolate store / computer store / robotics' store emerging out of Wikidata/Wikisource in 301 languages - how to begin to add these "products" to Wikidata / Wikibase) .... https://twitter.com/WUaSPress?lang=en ... it was really nice to talk with you at Reed. :)
Warm regards,
Scott
