Hi Pin, Saumitra, Mazumdars, All,

I just saw this new development from the West Bengal Wikimedians' User Group - https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/West_Bengal_Wikimedians/Reports/Annual_Activities/2019 - which I think might interest you.

And this is the original email:

"Hi all,

We are pleased to share with you  our annual activity report for the year
2019.

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/West_Bengal_Wikimedians/Reports/Annual_Activities/2019

Regards,
Bodhisattwa"

Appreciating the pictures in this report especially.

Regards, Scott

PS: And here's the Bengali language wiki subject page at MIT OCW-centric World University and School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Bengali_language - planned in Bengali, for free-to-students' online MIT OCW-centric degrees.

https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/India (and with West Bengal World Univ & Sch ahead too).

Hi Pin, Saumitra, Bodhisattwa, and Mazudars, All,

I'd like to introduce you all to one another. Bodhisattwa, Pin (Sid), Saumitra, and All. Bodhisattwa, lives in Puruliya, West Bengal, India - https://www.linkedin.com/in/bodhisattwamandal/ - and is a Wikidata / Wikipedia friend, and I know Pin (aka Siddartha) and the Mazumdars from our high school years together in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but where Pin was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mazumdar, when age 1, to the united states when they matriculated at Cornell University in NY for their Ph.D.s. Saumitra (Gubito) also came to the US to attend Cornell University in his late teens/early twenties (https://www.linkedin.com/in/saumitra-sengupta-5b99a51). And Maitreyi, Pin's younger sister is a medical doctor at Harvard, and has a research site in Bangladesh (https://www.linkedin.com/in/maitreyi-mazumdar-4b545332/).

These are Bodhisattwa and my recent messages in Linked In:

Scott:
Thanks for your helpful Wikimedia and Wikidata emails, Bodhisattwa PS: Here's the Bengali language wiki subject page at MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Bengali_language - planned in Bengali, for free-to-students' online MIT OCW-centric degrees. Regards, Scott (worlduniversityandschool.org and scottmacleod.com)

Bodhisattwa:
Thanks Scott, I will go through the links for sure.

Scott:
Thanks, Bodhisattwa - please let me know what you think would benefit WUaS West Bengal learners, and wiki-teachers, on both A) the wiki side, and B) with free-to-students' MIT OCW-centric degrees in Bengali, from this and related WUaS wiki pages. Will email you with introduction. Thanks so much, Bodhisattwa, and great to connect. Best regards, Scott (See, too, India WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/India and planned West Bengal WUaS, in Bengali and Hindi +)

I wonder if all of you could take on the development of West Bengal World University and School (and India WUaS too at present), both wiki and MIT OCW-centric  - and in Bengali, and Hindi, as WUaS gains access to information technologies in these languages? (And even eventually regarding online clinical research with A.I. and machine learning - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Clinical_Trials_at_WUaS_(for_all_languages) - as well as potentially online MIT OCW-centric Medical Degrees - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Medical_School - in West Bengal and Bangladesh)?

How best to communicate further about all of this?

With very best regards,
Scott

Dear Pin (Siddartha) and Mr. Mazumdar, and Bodhisattwa, and All,

World University and School is seeking students this autumn to matriculate for online free-to-students' CC-4 MIT OCW-centric Bachelor degrees ... https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School ... and hopefully via the edX platform, since there are 205 courses from MIT OCW in MITx presently.

As a professor at the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Mazumdar -

what might you suggest here, and possibly especially regarding US students who could be interested in these free online MIT-centric Bachelor degrees? And Bodhisattwa, and Saumitra - West Bengal students, and in your circles (first in English)? Partha - students in Sri Lanka who speak English?

And Maitreyi, and John (as a Harvard staff scientist), as information technologies develop for research questions, in Bangladesh, for example, may World Univ & Sch please send them to you? ... john.obrycki@childrens.harvard.edu ?

And, Bodhisattwa, am curious about your ideas in particular about ways in which World University and School, which donated itself to Wikidata for co-development in 2015, and received this WUaS Miraheze MediaWiki "front end" - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/India - in 2017 (but they're not yet interoperational), might engage Wikidata resources - in the Bengali language? Thoughts, ideas, questions, as you look through the links on the WUaS wiki pages you mentioned - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Bengali_/_Bangla_language - and also re MIT OCW courses in Bengali?

I'm blogging about some of this per recent emails here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/02/waters-of-finland-in.html - as well.

Thank you, Scott
