I have a question, please you told me the other time that the PhD program is between 5-7 years. I wish to know the chriteria for it to have a 5 years duration ans the chriteria for it to have a 7 years duration.

By way of comparison, here's information about a PhD in one of MIT's schools -

"WHAT IS THE AVERAGE DURATION OF THE PROGRAM? It takes an average of five years to complete the program (even if you have an MBA)—two years of coursework and approximately three years of research and writing of the dissertation."
