Some further thoughts for perspective and your own thinking  - 

Angela Farmer has had serious hip pain for probably more than 2 decades, and as a great Yogini has chosen to work around it, live with it, with her and Victor's amazing knowledge of the self-healing body through asana and similar rather than seek any procedure or operation (wisely I think too). She's probably been able to consult with many expert MDs as well in Germany, the US, and elsewhere too through contacts of people who come to their Yoga courses. Yogis can also use injuries or ailments like your right hip challenge as learning opportunities on a journey of life, but which may come out of an ascetic history tradition before modern allopathic medicine ... but when there are no helpful MD solutions informs this old Yoga approach to bodymind ailments like your hip.

Would you want to get a second or third MD opinion? Would you want to get one even at Harvard Medical School  or at Tufts Medical Center in Boston for example? In a related vein, re Tufts' John Sargent MD - with whom I talked with from Canyon 94516 for around 1.5 years possibly 10 years ago, but now with whom I am in just a little email and phone contact with (and he's good and a person too) - would you want to communicate with John Sargent MD about some of the concerns you've shared with me? Send him an email or call him up - (617) 636-8768.

He's a good MD therapist too, as well as a possible contact for you,, listens, knows the benefits of talk therapy, is smart, and knows the law, both federal and state of MA and ME and has legal counsel, - and may have MD oversight and networks regarding Maine health systems too since Tufts' Med Ctr is in Maine MD psychiatrically too (and re Sandy's possible homicidal inclinations even ... &:Re Cuttyhunk house) - and am glad George Alexander MD referred me to John (after George's 'assault' on me for example too). It cost money to talk with John Sargent MD but this talk therapy could even also partly be leading to a free house, newly safe, in Canyon 94516 - and with my and WUaS calling for abolition.

And re Friendly plain speech, if your right hip challenges could also somehow and obliquely refer to your son Sandy MacLeod and your challenges with him too - re his moving possibly to the right politically??? (sadly too if this means overlooking people's human rights, or making victims of people) ... or his hippy responses to the law both federal and state, MA or ME, and re our Cuttyhunk house too ... keeping this Sandy right hip issue (re illegal behaviors sexually too?) private makes much much sense. Thanks for letting me know about privacy and your right hip challenges, Ma!

Re Yoga, and inspirations too - 

Mary Dunn was an Iyengar Yoga teacher I sought to study with after she moved from San Diego in around 1986 to NYC, and moved across the country to do so, from Portland, Oregon, not long after graduating from Reed College (with an interest in hippy communities too, like Alpha Farm in the Oregon coastal range, and in Quakers / Friends), but the dynamic, amazing Yoga teacher (Yoga philosopher in a sense as well) Mary Dunn hadn't quite become established in NYC, so she said she wouldn't become my teacher, and instead (thanks in part to my uncle Bruce Macleod) I enrolled at Pendle Hill Quaker Center for Study and Contemplation for 3 terms (and worked in the Pendle Hill Bookstore and Publishing House for 2.5 years after this), SW of Philadelphia PA, near Swarthmore College and a fascinating Quaker community that began in the 1930s, and outside the organizational structure of Quaker Monthly Meetings, Quarterly Meetings, and Yearly Meetings for example. Mary Dunn passed on with cancer not long after she moved to NYC

Glad Angela and Victor are still alive (and are visionary old hippy Yoga teachers too) ... They left Iyengar Yoga quite dramatically in the 1980s I think ... with Victor publicly denouncing, I think, the institutionalization of Iyengar Yoga in SF at a conference there. (He's an artist too, and made some interesting T-Shirts about this and with reasons, photos of which I still have).
