What are some of the main ways that synthetic biologists and scientists could replace every nuclei in every cell in a mouse's body!

While the complete replacement of every nucleus in a live mouse is currently not feasible, a similar concept is utilized in a technique called somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). This process, which was used to create Dolly the sheep, involves:

Enucleation: The nucleus is removed from an egg cell (oocyte).

Nuclear Transfer: The nucleus from a donor somatic cell (a non-reproductive body cell) is transferred into the enucleated egg.

Reprogramming: The egg cell's cytoplasm reprograms the new nucleus, making it totipotent (capable of developing into a complete organism).

Embryo Development: The newly formed cell begins to divide and can be implanted into a surrogate mother to develop into a cloned animal.

This method clones an entire organism with the genetic material from a donor cell's nucleus, but it does not involve replacing the nuclei in an existing, living animal's cells.
