(I've lived in Scotland 2 full years and was active the 2nd year in the Central Edinburgh Quaker Meeting). Ewan, am I correct that you might have some Quaker background too? (And might you even have come in communication with the Alexanders in the USA many of whom are Quakers  and where the father George Alexander MD, now deceased, may have been a genius and was a biologist too)?
