Hi Scott,

I’m afraid A and I don’t have the bandwidth to help with the projects you describe below, but wish you all the best with your ongoing work on your world school.

Sincerely,

A

Hi A and A,

Thanks so much for your email, A. Good to see that "lungs" are one main focus of the 10,000 person Project Baseline - https://twitter.com/StanfordDeptMed/status/970817342631325696 - which was discussed today online at - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvviCQsYzJg - and where the video may become available too. And I hope the online South Africa medical school with online teaching hospital for clinical care at World University and School will happen baby step after baby step.

Perhaps Project Baseline's MC (above in video) and RM - could help with guiding this World University and School project re Medicine, since they know this Project Baseline "platform," which could inform such medical schools.
I'll reach out to Medicine Chair BH about this again, having met with him for 30 minutes last autumn about related questions, and explore some further baby step possibilities with him.

Sincerely, Scott

HI ....., ... and All,

Thanks for your emails.

Hoping to potentially touch base briefly with some of you after Medicine Grand Rounds' tomorrow morning. Some of my emails in this thread are here - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/03/fynbos-stanford-grand-rounds.html - all in one.

H D,

As the lead Board member of the WUaS Corp, this is the email I sent to A, per his guidance today, FYI:

A, (and B),

Thanks for your emails, your guidance and focus on language. How best to develop online medical schools for MD degrees in ~200 countries' official/main languages, with online teaching hospitals for clinical care, and research, isn't easy to express concisely, but I'll attempt to do so. How best to do this out of a Project Baseline platform, with Medicine?

A's mentioning the New England Journal of Medicine - NEJM's medicine learning modules (https://knowledgeplus.nejm.org/products/ and http://www.nejm.org/cme/weekly-cme-program?) seems to hold much potential for online medical school curriculum, and re translation too.

While Dartmouth medical school's tuition of $61,000/year per student - planned from countries' Depts of Health, or similar, might be an incentive to get such programs started soon, how best to begin with perhaps one country, and in which language?

I've applied for a MIT Media Lab faculty position on Dec. 1, 2017, and suspect I would hear back soon and positively from them if I could let them know that Medicine would be able to guide the CC-4 medicine OCW (or similar) and related onlne medical schools, teaching hospitals and online research centers (eg for clinical trials, etc.) in collaboration with World University and School. Project Baseline (with something like Project ECHO) seem like great starting places for this.

How would this all work together with parallel Law OCW in ~200 nation states' official/main languages is a related question, - since MIT and thus CC-4 MIT OCW doesn't have a medical school or a law school?

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Scott

Somehow need to figure out how to bring the engineering and clinical cultures together.  Solutions are in more collaborations and deeper understanding of each others' issues/perspectives.

[Wikidata] First version of Lexicographical Data will be released in April

Hi Lydia,

What will be the focus on STEM translation here - and for online medical schools, and online clinical care for example? And what will be the relationship with Google Translate / GNMT, if I might ask? WUaS Medical Schools and online teaching hospitals for clinical care are hoping to emerge from the Google Project Baseline ... into the Google Ecosystem.

Thank you, Scott

Hey Nicola,

It's because the mapping to RDF is not defined yet. If you are knowledgeable about that and want to help please let me know.

Cheers

Hi Lydia,
sure! I have done some work on this on a project of mine (http://victor.datagrafting.com) some time ago, so I would be happy to "use" it as a workbench if it helps. The underlying model might need to be updated, but I think it is mature enough.

I hypothesize that a well mapped out RDF - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource_Description_Framework - re this lexicographical data will be at the core of an Universal Translator eventually.
