Pitt philosophy - Sergey Frolov - 2/10/23 - Quantum Nanowires: A case study on reproducibility in natural sciences
Dear Sergey, (Colin, Nita, All),
Below you'll find some related ideas in recent tweets with retweeting Google AI Systems that will facilitate such an iterating #RealisticVirtualUniverse ForQuantumPhysics.
I hope such a realistic virtual universe with text and equations in the sidebar of Google Street View with a time slider (see below), can become a major new way of scientific publishing and offer iterating approaches to data with AI and machine learning especially.
How to design this #RealisticVirtualUniverse with MIT OCW-centric World Univ & Sch-Google 'moonshot' universe-shot collaborations for reproducibility and, for example, for you to be able to add your developing research, devices, and virtual reality science (eg all the atoms ever from the beginning of the universe 13.8 billion years ago, computer science-wise) - hypothetically, brainstorming-wise, on possible differentiated Majorana fermion processes on the way to Mars in the late 2030s, astronomically 34 million miles away, or a bit over 3 light-minutes away - with atomic-level #FilmTo3D Apps, streamed into a #RealisticVirtualEarth ForQuantumPhysics? Academic and Google and World Univ & Sch quantum physicists would all build this out together further, and wiki-wise in a sense.
Best regards, Scott

This is my Physical-Digital Harbin Hot Springs' ethnographic field site, with a #RealisticVirtualHarbin 2nd ethnographic book project emerging potentially from Google Street View with time slider, Maps, Earth, TensorFlowAI, TensorStore, Translate and at the cell, molecule and atomic levels, and with Pegman growing to become interactive humanoid avatar bots, and potentially to inform WUaS 'avatar bot electronic medical records' for all 7.9 billion people on the planet too:

Title: Quantum Nanowires: A case study on reproducibility in natural sciences
Abstract: Three years ago, I and a friend found major problems in a Nature paper in my field. The paper has since been retracted, along with another Nature paper. Several more are recommended for retraction, are under expressions of concern or pending corrections. I tangled with colleagues, including close friends, university administrators, journal editors, and funding managers. I learned many lessons, mostly about how slow things go, how many things don’t work and how far is the culture and attitudes around unreliable research from where it needs to be. Perhaps the most eye-opening has been that the reproducibility crisis is in full swing in natural sciences, which traditionally consider themselves insulated due to their perceived rigor. I began formulating what changes are desired, some are very technocratic – such as total data sharing, and post-publication peer review. Some are harder, like changing the incentives, the business models and the employment habits. Still, without taking care of the scientific process itself, we cannot put much value on the science it produces.
