Hi Katherine, and Gabriel,

Thanks for the information, Kat.

While World University and School's online CC OCW Ph.D.s will be MIT OCW- (and potentially Stanford- too) centric, WUaS is also a wiki and has this counseling wiki subject page - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Counseling (http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Counseling) - for open teaching and learning. And WUaS is planning to offer online counseling to matriculated students, as well as in multiple languages (re cultural questions), as well as begin to plan for this in A.I. and in multiple languages ... all things that could be interesting for an intern to work on wiki-wise, for example. Where are you thinking of applying, and for what kinds of counseling, social-theory wise?

What kind of counseling traditions inspire you?

I'd like to introduce you to G.H. here as well. We were at Reed together in the early '80s (and G is great:). She's a very skilled coach / counselor (smart and compassionate), and lives in SF wit her family. I don't know how much if any experience G has with online counseling. Have you explored this fruitfully, G? Kat finished at Reed last year in Psychology and is thinking about heading for a Psychology Ph.D. in counseling. (Gabriel's husband, J, also went briefly to Reed - and I think Woody (J.M. from Woodside CA) and I were in both a Sleep and Dreaming course with the great Reed psychology professor Les Squier (my favorite professor there), as well as in the Introductory Psychology class; G majored in chemistry).

Looking forward to the reunion this year, and to sharing my new Harbin book on Saturday, June 10 at the Reed Reunion's Marketplace. (Giving another talk about my "Naked Harbin Ethnography" in the UC Berkeley anthropology department on May 5th - bit.ly/HarbinBook).

Best,
Scott

Pollination: A new online California School of Psychoanalysis, Lacan (post Freud) and subsequent great psychoanalytic theorists don't take into account Pairbonding + per John Money's 5 "Concepts of Determinism" for example - http://scottmacleod.com/anthropology/determinism.htm, Samsung Galaxy Note Pro - eventually for REAL, REAL time music making {and in the WUaS Music School?}, Getting the analyst-analysand communication process "correct" and theoretically and actually therapeutically helpful, A.I. seems to offer the possibility of speeding up the traditional 3-5 year course of psychoanalysis, World University joins with MIT in wishing you a wonders-of-discovery filled New Year
