Waza National Park (Cameroon, Africa): Inquiry (from Cameroon, Africa) - Inbox from Aurelien or VOLCANO Mar 19, 2021, 12:15 AM (5 days ago) to me Good day WUaS, I wish to inquire about your programs. Do you offer masters degree programs in computer science? If yes, it comprises of how many courses ? * * Let's wait until 2023 when the CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch platform (partly on Google's G Suite for Education) will have developed much further via edX, and when (after completing your Bachelor's degree) you can apply to WUaS for free-to-students' PhD degrees with a Master's degree exit possibility along the same lines

Hi AURELIEN,

Thank you for your email.

World Univ & Sch has a main all-languages' focus so the Cameroonian languages you know are great in these regards. Glad too you write English well and have decent access to computers, and the Internet.

I'd like to introduce you to Imad and Larry. Imad is a prospective PhD student this autumn 2021 and also lives in western Africa (Morocco) and Larry is the Chief Academic Officer at WUAS and a MIT Alumnus. AURELIEN is a prospective PhD student in autumn 2023, and lives in Cameroon, central Africa, which is just coming out of a civil war. AURELIEN may also help to develop wiki Cameroon World Univ & Sch - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Cameroon - in all the Cameroonian languages he knows, as well as reach out to other Cameroonian wiki-teachers and learners in these regards, I think, & n'est-ce pas? :)

Just found this regarding Lego robotics in Cameroon -
https://twitter.com/icistem/status/1344358197541404673?s=19. Where do you live in Cameroon - anywhere near Buea? And do you know any of these Caneroonians - since it can be a very small world indeed (even in a country of 26 million people).

Let's wait until 2023 when the CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch platform (partly on Google's G Suite for Education) will have developed much further via edX, and when (after completing your Bachelor's degree) you can apply to WUaS for free-to-students' PhD degrees with a Master's degree exit possibility along the same lines. WUaS is going to seek reimbursement from Countries' governments' departments of education (nation state, state, and county - potentially for Lego Robotics' kits too even) per student per year - particularly for countries' 'Olympic' academic students (like applying to and getting into MIT), where WUaS is seeking, like the Olympics (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameroon_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics), to offer higher education to all ~200 countries in the world.

Cameroon's situation may be further improved by then as well. In the meantime, feel free to wiki-teach to Cameroon WUaS - - (eg by teaching about something you enjoy to video like Youtube).

Thank you for your interest in MIT OCW-centric wiki WUaS,
Scott

Cameroon World University & School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Cameroon
(Which "front end" here, and "back end" in Wikidata structured knowledge database in Wikipedia's 300 languages aren't yet interoperable, so this is a work in progress)

PS
Are you mining Stanford Mine Pi Coin for free everyday? -
"Prospective WUaS PhD graduate students are continuing daily to earn free money (as am I) with Stanford Mine Pi ... interested?

For your free cryptocurrency, which is mineable daily, you can begin to get free money daily with the Stanford Mine Pi cryptocurrency now. Use this code -  sgkmac - minepi.com/sgkmac
- and, on your smartphone, and which could become the basis for single crypto-currency in all ~200 countries.

Thank you for your reply Mr Scott, you made this statement "you can apply to WUaS for free-to-students' PhD degrees with a Master's degree exit possibility along the same lines". Does it imply that after my BSC in Computer Science in 2023 there is a possibility of taking a Masters Degree and a PhD simultaneously and concurrently?

Hi Mr. AURELIEN, (and Larry),

Thank you for your further questions as well.

First, as WUaS develops by 2023, PhD applying will be part of the WUaS admissions' process (with parallels to applying to MIT & Stanford, where they accept for matriculation less than 10% of their student Bachelor degrer applicants, all of whom are at the top of their class, or have excellent grades on their transcripts or similar). WUaS also seeks to significantly grow the number of PhDs WUaS graduates in central Africa.

Second, the PhD program that students apply for candidacy in will likely take 5-7 years from start to finish, the first 2 years involving coursework on something like the edX platform. If a matriculated WUaS PhD student candidate completes this course work, and then s/he or WUaS decides that a PhD won't work out, the option to end their studies with a WUaS Master's Degree will likely be possible. Basic research toward a PhD answering questions never previously addressed can take many years if focused study, typically working with an adviser professor, and a PhD committee of professors, after the completion of a Master's degree, and here at WUaS could take 7-2=5 years (where 7 years could be the avg time to completion of a WUaS PhD, and 2years could be the first 2 yrs of coursework for a Master's Degree).

Thank you, AURELIEN, for your interest, and best wishes for your Bachelor's degree studies at present. Keep an eye on the WUaS web site in the next few years for how applying to the PhD program for admission will develop. Doing so may parallel these MIT programs

All the best, Scott

Thank you for your response Mr. SCOTT. you said the PhD program will take about 5-7 years. I will love to know if this PhD program is based on the completion of theses ( in which case the number of years could vary and be significantly less) or is this a fixed time frame?
I am asking because I will love to be a professor by 2027 and I am very hardworking so please tell me more about this time frame.

Hi Mr. AURELIEN,

Thanks for your reply and interest. Yes, in all likelihood to your question about completion of a thesis; a dissertation is what defines a PhD for WUaS.

Licensing (with CA's BPPE probably) and Accreditation (with WASC senior probably) will also inform how we develop our WUaS online PhD program, as will the edX platform; so will our WUaS CC-4 MIT OCW-cenrricity.  Please be patient until and if you apply to the PhD program in 2023,behaving read the upcoming online description of our WUaS PhD programs, - and we develop our WUaS PhD program further, and also set up reimbursement arrangements with Cameroon's department of education - and so yes a dissertation will likely be part of the WUaS PhD.

Please continue to seek out other online PhDs in the meanwhile (ask Cameroon departments of education? - might they be setting up online PhDs at public universities in Cameroon?), where you might be able to become a post Doc within a shorter amount of time than 7 years average time to completion, which could be 5 years if students are very focused (so 3 years after a 2 years' Master's Degrees). WUaS PhD graduate students may also get teaching experience in the PhD process thus allowing them to gain experience for their teaching careers.

WUaS is seeking to generate highest quality PhDs and to become the MIT / Harvard / Stanford of the internet in these regards, all of which great universities involve dissertations in their PhDs.

WUaS will also lay out the PhD process on the web with time, paralleling these

Thanks for your reply, Aurelien,

And please stay tuned as our WUaS PhD programs emerge in detail regarding degree requirements on the web, - if you're still interested in applying in 2023.

Every nation state is different, but in the US, many university bound students apply to around 5-10 different universities (usually with an application fee for each), and then see where they get accepted and then matriculate to the university of their choice, contingent upon being accepted. It's a good strategy for the student too, to increase their educational choices & options regarding their planned career - and I encourage you to think about applying to a number of PhD programs in 2023, upon getting your Bachelor's degree in Cameroon. Many universities also offer significant stipendiums to their top STEM student applicants in particular - which could be a further great reason to apply to many universities in 2023 for PhD programs.

In addition - and as WUaS seeks to set up reimbursement channels for free-to-students' online best STEAM CC-4 OpenCourseWare-centric degrees from all ~200 countries' Ministries of Education (probably in WUaS's G-Suite for Education, as a mechanism) - I looked up Cameroon's departments of education, found the following, and wonder if you could inquire with them too about their developing online PhD programs in Cameroon in public universities to increase the range of options of university PhD programs you might apply to in 2023 (and since some great American universities ask what other schools a student has applied to, as part of the application process, too) -

Thank you for your inquiry and interest in the WUaS PhD program free-to-students' CC-4 MIT OCW-centric Wiki World University and School, from Cameroon, as well as in Cameroon World University and School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Cameroon - planned in all Cameroonian languages for open teaching and learning:

English, French, Pidgin(Broken Africaans), Mbouda and Bakweri

and recognised regional languages (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameroon)
Cameroonian Pidgin English
Fula
Ewondo
Chadian Arabic
Camfranglais

All the best, Scott

Blog entry about this is here:
Waza National Park (Cameroon, Africa): Inquiry Inbox VOLCANO Mar 19, 2021, 12:15 AM (5 days ago) to me Good day WUaS, I wish to inquire about your programs.

PPS
World Univ & Sch is also interested in our planned online Medical Schools with online teaching hospitals, in developing excellent online psychiatry in all ~200 countries, and here's a related article for Cameroon -
How mental health care is changing in Cameroon because of the COVID-19 pandemic

Thank you, Aurelien, for your interest and inquiry regarding World University and School!
