Hi Scott,

Hope this finds you well.
I saw this article in the Guardian yesterday and thought it might interest you. Fascinating to think about what people's lives were like and what languages they spoke in this now-innundated landscape. So much to learn!
Hopefully we'll be beyond covid by next summer and can say hi again on Cuttyhunk.
All best,
Bede

THANKS Bede!

Fascinating too ... I looked up Doggerland artifacts:

"Evidence of Doggerlanders' nomadic presence can be found embedded in the seafloor, where modern fishermen often find ancient bones and tools that date to about 9,000 years ago. These artifacts brought Doggerland's submerged history to the attention of British and Dutch archaeologists and paleontologists." Dec 1, 2012

And of these finds (which I 'dug' up), I added the Pinterest ones to the 3D printing label in this Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/sgkmacleod/ (where this one is slightly more WUaS-oriented - https://www.pinterest.com/scottmacleod100/).

Would be interesting to explore Doggerland further in a

See you on Cuttyhunk, I hope - and thanks for in a sense emailing during WUaS Monthly Business Meeting, and thus participating in it too! :)

Merry, Merry and Happy, Happy :)

All the best, Scott

Hi Scott,

Glad you liked that article and thanks for the links.  I look forward to learning more about what the archeologists, paleontologists and anthropologists can tell us about Doggerland.

Also pleased to know I got marked present for the WuAS meeting! And yes, very much looking forward to a visit to Cuttyhunk next summer.

Merry Holidays and Happy New Year to you, too!
Bede

Hi Bede,

Thanks a lot for your email. Perhaps the research of - https://colleen-morgan.com - Colleen Morgan, with UC Berkeley Ph.D. in archaeology, a focus on digital archaeology, and now a lecturer at the Univ of York may be of interest to you - https://www.york.ac.uk/archaeology/people/academic-staff/morgan/ - https://twitter.com/clmorgan. (She's a colleague, and acquaintance, has some hippy roots, having gone to Univ of Texas, Austin for undergraduate education).

Am hoping CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch can create a realistic virtual earth for archaeology in Google Street View with TIME SLIDER for all of this (dovetailing with my actual-virtual Harbin Hot Springs' project - http://tourismstudies.org/news_archive/MacLeod2020.htm - where in this 4th UC Berkeley Anthropology TSWG talk of mine, I lay some further related ideas, tools and thinking ... ) ... WUaS seeks to do this with a realistic virtual earth for robotics - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForRobotics?src=hashtag_click ...

Here's the realistic virtual earth I have in mind in Street View ~ http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg (~ https://twitter.com/HarbinBook ~ http://bit.ly/HarbinBook ~)

I'll add your name to the upcoming WUaS Minutes (which were also the Annual Meeting for WUaS this year!)

See you on Cuttyhunk!

Merry Holidays and Happy New Year to you (and with Season's Greetings email to come!)
Scott
