- This species of elephant roamed the cold tundra of Asia, Europe, and North America from about 300,000 years ago until about 10,000 years ago. They had long hair and lots of body fat to survive in the cold. Woolly mammoths had curled tusks and flat teeth, and used their 15-foot-long tusks to dig for food.
- This species had flatter heads and straighter tusks than mammoths. They had cone-shaped teeth for eating tough plants. Mastodons overlapped with woolly mammoths in Beringia, but thrived in warmer periods while mammoths preferred colder periods.

Possibly a way too for Google to help manage long term 200,000 year+ 'storage' of nuclear waste issues w CS AND in #RealisticVirtualEarth #ForGeology (think #GoogleStreetView w #TimeSlider #GMaps #GEarth)https://t.co/GMxKoATssJ ? How could @WorldUnivAndSch create alternative ?
