care, humor, creativity, consciousness, now, philosophy,

see: hippy labels too

*
New label: 'wisdom'

(may head back through this blog to add new 'wisdom' label to a few other posts)

Am wondering how Eric's above indicators of wisdom would inform psychotherapy even, and as a psychologist, he's taught both group and individual therapy in the late 1980s in Pittsburgh, PA (- see below).

Common bluebell: Ongoing envisioning of upcoming "Honey in the Bag" Scottish small pipes' CD in 2020 here, Rhythmically, Scottish piping music-wise, here's great GHB piper Alasdair Gillies here playing Cabar Feidh in 4 different ways ... "Cabar Feidh - March, CabarFeidh - Strathspey, Cabar Feidh - Reel, Cabar Feidh – Jig," Grateful Dead and bagpipes, and here are two tunes "Wharf Rat" and "St. Stephen/The Eleven (Aoxomoxoa outtakes)" I like a lot (re Jori Chisholm and Bobby Weir), Re "Honey in the Bag" CD ideas see these two recent blog entries A) "The sugar bag bee: " - (with more about introducing folk rock element into this), B) "Gobies: " - (with the beginning tune list and much more), Re Google's viral Bach Doodle re artificial intelligence A.I. and Bach, Thnx, Bruce for: 'Analyzing the Bach Harmonizer Doodle' video

Dear Ed, Jane (Ma), and Larry,

Very nice to go to this UC Berkeley Anthropology Museum exhibit in Kroeber Hall with you recently, Ed - to see the
Hearst Museum's Mind-Altering Anthropology exhibit
-  https://hearstmuseum.berkeley.edu/exhibit/pleasure-poison-prescription-prayer-worlds-mind-altering-substances/ - and to share a meal at Blue Sky Hotel House of Curries (on Durant) afterward.

Re wisdom, Ma, your observations "to let go" and some of these questions even, have just blogged about Prof / Philosopher Eric L. Dodson today - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/10/andean-cock-of-rock-wisdom-education-by.html - who has a Ph.D. from Duquesne University (in psychology), and seems wise, - and thinks about wisdom from his own reasoning. His 8th indicator of being wise in his "Wisdom and Education" video is:

8. The ability to hold things loosely

Am curious if he knew George Alexander MD (family friend and Lacanian psychiatrist), since ERic's thinking seems to reflect conversation philosophically with George. Eric seems to have lived in Pittsburgh from 1989-1996 when he took a teaching position in the south. Do you recall having met him, by any chance? You might enjoy his 3 videos in this blog post, as well as the piping ideas.

Thank you!

Sending love, Scott

Interesting that while at Duquesne Eric Dodson taught courses in therapy, both individual and group from 1989-1991 - https://www.westga.edu/share/documents/vitae/vita_000165.pdf?updated=2019-08-09%2014:23:17 ...

Am wondering what kind of therapy theoretically he taught, since there are so so many kinds, and no I'll call this 'general theory of the mind' re psychiatry, for example, let along cognitive and brain science e.g. re https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/brain-and-cognitive-sciences/. And did he learn from George in these regards too? Who knows? :)

Here's some Bach playing I'd like to emulate somehow newly on Scottish Small Pipes -

https://youtu.be/pTBooio3h9U (which I've sent you before) - and which is a far cry from

https://youtu.be/TthrgctJJ0U ... :)

Love, Scott

Hopkinson Smith's Bach - https://youtu.be/pTBooio3h9U - is mind-altering for me per this thread :) You?
