How could a single realistic virtual earth (think Google Street View with time slider) help us find out - so seek the truth of, or prove, or do information arbitrage - whether this Biathlon World Championship 2021 is happening in Sweden, or in Slovenia, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, in Europe ... and even what is happening in the biathlon? 

Could it help journalists write better stories, and do better journalism, if, without, they might nab a photo here and a photo there off the web, and write stories that might not be totally accurate (eg reflecting last year's events?)? 

Could we combine all the existing web cameras all over that have been installed since the 1990s (since the first graphical user interface browsers started 1993 or so, leading to the massive development of the Web), I think, and may still be transmitting data ... and now into Google Street View with Time Slider, to help fill it out ... in addition to sending more Google cars & walkers around even to set up further web cameras too - and for surrounding web cameras for stadium like situations too, or archaeological digs through time (Troy, Çatalhöyük) ? 

And how to systematically fill in the gaps of missing web cameras, making societal decisions about privacy, surveillance and AI. The idea of a single realistic virtual Universe (which I'm heralding) - for tele-robotic surgery in space on the way to Mars in the 2030s, at the cellular and atomic levels, is such a MASSIVE DATA idea and project - filling supercomputers indefinitely into the eternal future with 1s and 0s, bits and bytes, and what comes after ... and creating and writing history too! ... but societies in all 200 countries have already made the decision to do this in a seed way since the 1970s, so it could be likely to continue, and lead to further orientation of societies around computers somehow .

.. And how would this unfold in a developing Realistic Virtual Harbin Hot Springs for actual-virtual ethnography, and not just in the 2020s, but how about planning for the 2120s .... where are the existing web cameras in California???? 

And what's the law, and what would be the academic research protocols re privacy of research subjects / informants for all of this are a whole set of other questions. (Is China leading the way in putting cameras across China - but possibly almost for a kind of repressive state, as I read this, but in what ways could one develop the installations of web cameras for a happy state or nation state, and democratic ones, and great-law abiding ones:)? And how does Pennsylvania do this differently already from Maryland for Scotland from California?

Is this biathlon a Swedish identity issue / event and re preparation for defense as a nation state too ?

I also blogged here about a single realistic virtual earth re US federalism extended to all 200 countries and in their languages - idea. Hmmm ... On Google Smart TV a picture of the pyramids in Egypt shows up regularly in the stream of AI generated images (which Googe Smart TV has chosen) ... and how to build or engineer something vis-a-vis the Web that last 5700 years or longer is a question that comes to mind with these amazing solid and long-lasting buildings, and re WUaS.

HOW would the integration with Google's WUaS' G Suite for Education work with edX for grades etc., with our WUaS plans to build out in WUaS Opencura WikiBase/Wikidata's 300 languages, and for matriculating Universitian students and WUaS wiki editors in all 200 countries, conceptually here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - (and in planning for WUaS wiki teachers and learners in all 7117 known living languages) ?

WUaS is still seeking funding. So is WUaS and edX still talking about ~ $17,000 per 50 students per year? And what please would be the next steps and costs to sign the edX-WUaS partnership agreement? (And would you please lay all of these out in writing)? Also, from you edX perspective, could WUaS matriculate 150 undergraduate students (and potentially at least 4 PhD students working toward their Master's degrees) September 1, taking engaging edX courseware which helps with student retention, in 29 majors (licensable be BPPE and accredit-able by WASC), for a first year out of 4 years' college?

I hope this email finds you well. Just following up on our recent conversation in videography. In anticipating WUaS Monthly Business Meeting in 2 weeks, and matriculating 150 undergraduate students potentially as early as May 1, but probably September 1, 2021, I'm writing to confirm that what you said is that WUaS would have to pay edX about $101,000 to interoperate our developing platform with edX's dashboard ($50,000), and $17,000 (or $350 per student per year) for each 50 students we matriculate, and get grades for, as we proceed with probably BPPE licensing and WASC accrediting. Is this accurate? Newly, WUaS is seeking to plan for 4 possible PhD students too (taking possibly 7 years to complete their PhDs in English; 2 from India possibly, 1 from Morocco, and 1 from Indonesia). 

And since WUaS doesn't yet have a relationship with MIT's departments, in what ways would it be possible for these prospective WUaS PhD students to apply directly through MIT Departments to matriculate at WUaS? Glad to write that NtF inspired (in part) CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School is growing. WUaS is newly partnering with edX, and seeking 150 undergraduates to matriculate this autumn 2021 for free-to-students' online best STEAM CC-4 OCW-centric 4-year Bachelor degrees, first in English. WUaS also has four possible PhD students (7 years to completion?) and is seeking for these to apply and matriculate at WUaS through MIT Departments themselves. In doing this, WUaS is also seeking to develop online WUaS counseling and potentially through something like MIT Medical - and for our students from all ~200 countries, many with English as a second language, and from very different cultures than in the US or Anglophone countries, for example. 

On our WUaS wiki side, WUaS is seeking to build out wiki schools for open teaching and learning in all 7,117 known living languages, and will blog about both of these developments today in a post with communication with edX and MIT > https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/MIT.
