Dear Phoebe, David, Tess, Matt, Peggy, All,
Greetings from Cuttyhunk! How are you all? I hope this finds you all well.
It was very nice to see and talk with you on the Cuttyhunk ferry Phoebe on around W August 16 - my first time on Cuttyhunk this year! And nice to see you Tess on the road to the CYC in August too!
I'm writing with an inquiry: do any of you know who owns the 'Cold Smoke' Bulls Eye now out of the water near the Cuttyhunk ferry dock by any chance? It looks like it's all ready to sail with flotation devices on board, but no sails that I could see. I'm seeking to sail a bit here on Cuttyhunk this September and August and would be interested even in sailing this Bullseye, if I could find out who owns it. Is it even for sale?
I just shared this with David Thurston (now back in the DC area) in some of these regards:
"Hi David, greetings from Cuttyhunk. How long do you think it would take to sail a Bullseye sailboat with a little anchor from here to the old Cuttyhunk Alert dock towing a dinghy on a nice 12 knot wind from SW day (1.5 hours?) ... And how long for the return tacking into the wind pretty much (2.5 hours)? Do you know who owns the 'Cold Smoke' Bullseye now out of the water near the Cuttyhunk ferry dock by any chance? And do you also know of a Bullseye available on Cuttyhunk possibly for sale - and with the trailer? Cheers, Scott (
http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/sailing?m=0 ... am seeking to sail over to visit New Bedford NEAR the ELM street garage, since my car is there and get groceries even, as well as explore the old city of New Bedford historically, and to possibly explore adding it to a realistic virtual earth for history - think Google Street View with time slider, and adding pictures.:)"
I'm coming to realize that it might make more sense to sail into Padanaram, but my vehicle is in New Bedford - and I appreciate its centrality.
Thoughts, ideas, questions, suggestions? (Is there a Cuttyhunk exchange email list around as well - like for anything but dinghies, tiny outboard motors, etc.?)
Friendly regards, sincerely, best wishes, Scott

Phoebe, All, ...
I just created a new
Cuttyhunk island MA exchange Google group -
& am inviting you to join >
This is a Cuttyhunk island exchange email group, for anything but little sailboats, life jackets, Kayaks, dinghies, tiny outboard motors, tools like hedge trimmers, etc.
Welcome to the Cuttyhunk island exchange email Google group, for anything but like little sailboats, life jackets, kayaks, dinghies, tiny outboard motors, tools like hedge trimmers, and other things & goods people use on a remote island, etc. Welcome!
I've added one posting so far:

Dear Phoebe, Nick (Porter)!, All,
Just heard from David Thurston that the Bullseye "Cold Smoke" out of the water near the Cuttyhunk ferry dock, may be yours Nick.Is it? Will email you separately to ask you about it further. (Nick, and all - I blog about you here in this August 2018 blog post in daily blog -
https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/08/bearberry-kinnickinick-alden-and.html - and about the New Beford Whaling Museums' longest painting in the world!, in the the historic Kilburn Mill in New Bedford at the time. How to add this to an iterating realistic virtual earth for museums eg in Google Street View with a time slider, I wonder?).
This new 'Cuttyhunk island MA exchange' Google group is working, and am continuing to update it a bit -
"This is a Cuttyhunk island exchange email group for, for example, little sailboats, life jackets, Kayaks, dinghies, tiny outboard motors, tools like hedge trimmers, etc."

Dear Nick, All,
Greetings from on island, - I have been exploring finding a Bullseye to sail in this September and October 2023 from Cuttyhunk. David Thurston texted me this morning saying he thinks the Bullseye near the Cuttyhunk ferry dock - "Cold Smoke" may be its name - is yours, and I was going to possibly inquire if I could please use it, but as I think about it further, I think I won't ask after all (and instead stay focused writing 1) my 6th book, "Society, Information Technology and The Global University," 2) a NSF Proposal for a Realistic Virtual Earth for everything - especially instrumentation, 2a) a Realistic Virtual Earth for Genomics and Aging Reversal, and 2b) a Realistic Virtual Earth for Lego Robotics, and 3) moving the WUaS Academic Medical Center WUaS Longevity Genetics' Institute back into potentially a newly safe open Canyon 94516). Thank you, Nick, anyway - for your inspiring Bullseye dock near the Cuttyhunk Gas dock!
Just shared the texts below with David Thurston in some of these regards too.
So give 3 cheers for Cuttyhunk,
Scott
PS
David, one reason to move back into a newly safe open 670 Ridgecrest Rd Canyon 94516, where you visited me ... is to grow an abolition movement to protect people & re Canyon criminals for ex, & with federal & state law, & similar, and re WUaS seeking to code for all 7.9 billion people -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University to protect people too ... It seems like Nick Porter's Bullseye if I could possibly borrow it (re my CYC membership too) put it back in the water etc - could open ways in collaborating with Nick in growing free MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch in the Middle East even, and re peace making there too ... but it's a very turbulent area, with its religions' histories esp. ... Yet Friendly-led or -informed World Univ & Sch WUaS could help with peace making in the Middle East potentially, and dramatically possibly, too ... and in collaboration with Nick. Thanks for the info that the Bullseye may be Nick's, Cheers, abolition-ally, regards, Scott

Hi Scott, it was nice to see you too. I’m not much help, but I can tell you the Twichell/Peterson/Kimball/
Goodwin crew does not own a bullseye. I don’t know the owner of Cold Smoke. Sounds like an adventure! Enjoy Cuttyhunk!
Best,
Phoebe

After seeing 3 boats (a Cat boat, a 17 foot Boston Whaler?, and what could be like a Hunter 20 foot sailboat, especially if it had a hand shower) from the MacLeod Cuttyhunk house back porch, I could be seeking one of these in the future too, and think I', have added a photo of these below, which I''l seek aldo yo post here -
Best wishes, abolition-ally, Cuttyhunk Regards,

Dear Phoebe (Twichell Peterson), Nick (Porter, MDiv), Sarah (Garfield Berry, Cuttyhunk Selectman), Cuttyhunkers, All,
Greetings everyone!
The "Cold Smoke" Bullseye 16' sailboat near the Cuttyhunk gas dock is now gone. (And could it have been put in storage by its owner)? I continue to seek a sailboat to use this autumn possibly, and in September and October (as I write my 6th book "Society, Information Technology, and The Global University")
I also learned from Lexi just now in the very new Cuttyhunk store on the gas dock just now that there are a couple of other similar lists like on FB, and the Cuttyhunk Telegraph email lists (both run by P.D.) - and also that there may be a Cuttyhunk Craigslist etc. ... and Lexi may start a paper Bulletin Board in her and Duane's great new store on the gas dock, and that there's another bulletin board on the restrooms at the Fish dock (she said).
But am appreciative of the distributed internet, fundamental to its structure, and have just posted this new inquiry to the new
'Cuttyhunk island MA exchange' Google group
one of 3 boats (a Cat boat sailboat, a 17 ft Boston Whaler, Hunter 20 ft sailboat w shower, or similar)
"Seeking possibly one of these 3 boats in picture (a Cat boat, a 17 foot Boston Whaler/similar?, and what could be like a Hunter 20 foot sailboat, especially if it had a hand shower)
Please let me know if you know where I could get one of these 4 boats, this autumn, or potentially in future summers.
Thanks again so much Phoebe for your email reply that your extended family doesn't have a Bullseye sailboat!
Thanks, Scott
Best wishes, abolition-ally, Cuttyhunk Regards,
Scott

Developing a plan, talking when I'm in Massachusetts? continuing ~ Just sent this link for my upcoming next book -
Society Information Technology and the Global University manuscript 2023 ~ to worlduniversityandschool@gmail.com where I do have access to Google Bard conversational generative AI ~
Dear John, Ed, Ma, Sid,
Good morning! How are you?
Just sent this link for my upcoming next book -
Society Information Technology and the Global University manuscript 2023
from this email address where I don't yet have access to Google Bard generative AI to worlduniversityandschool@gmail.com where I do have access to Google Bard (thanks to an invitation a month or two ago, and it looks to be generally available now - https://bard.google.com/ ... who here is exploring using Bard these days? Pin, John, Ed? Ma?
), after receiving another Google Bard News' email yesterday, saying Bard is not interoperable with GDocs ... and think they are also a little further along with working out privacy issues, accuracy / truthfulness even, and so much more with Bard (so past the bleeding edge) etc ...
I'm about 30 pages into the manuscript, Google Docs-wise, and into Chapter 4. I'm working from the 8 video talks I made for my Soc & Info Tech course in 2007 in Pittsburgh for the first 8 chapters ... and I think Bard will be very helpful for the subsequent possible 4 chapters.
Am curious how Bard may be helpful even for planning and per this email thread ... and also possibly for translation and even beginning the Academic Press at World Univ. & Sch within the Google Docs' ecosystem, and with translation (and so WUaS Press can move away from the Nozama ecosystem as printer and distributor for WUaS's Presses' first five books).
How are all of you doing?
Ma, am appreciating and "remember{ing} what peace there may be in silence" in your beautiful Longwood home per the Desiderata -
