Stanford University - 1/25 -The Future of Stablecoin Regulation

Dear Nellie, and Darrell, (& please forward to Jeremy and Jose if possible - since I couldn't find their emails online),

Thanks for your timely and topical Stanford StableCoins' panel ... https://enews.law.stanford.edu/t/ViewEmail/r/98DEBC2B169313872540EF23F30FEDED/46496A7CFA065AF9DCC9454293137CA2?alternativeLink=False ...

For your further reference, here are the questions I asked in the Q&A / chat dialogues, as well as what I added to the survey forms:

"What about Stanford Mine Pi cryptocurrency coin (newly on the Mainnet blockchain, which was formerly just Bitcoin’s, I have read), and potentially coming after the US Dollar in the USA, and in the EuroZone in 19 out of ~28 EU countries, and even in most all ~200 countries, potentially backed by most of their central banks, - and distributed even to end poverty, and to create a single worldwide cryptocurrency, to all 7.9 billion people, please? Thank you.

Scott (sgkmacleod@worlduniversityandschool.org - @WorldUnivAndSch @WUaSPress and see, too, the email to SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce here -http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/01/punch-bowl-falls-oregon.html (and more in the UBI and You at WUaS labels - e.g. http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/UBI) - with some Tweets too in this blog post by MIT DCI Director Neha Narula). Thank you.

"Thanks - I added to the question I posted there in Q&A reference to Tweets by MIT DCI Director Neha Narula - and her Twitter conversation with MN Representative Tom Emmer regarding cryptocurrency developments and the US government (here too - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2022/01/punch-bowl-falls-oregon.html).

"When might people be able to interoperate, for example, Stanford Mine Pi, which people are mining every 24 hours with algorithms, with Google Pay on smartphones, in these regards? Thank you.

Another topic -

"Stanford Mine Pi cryptocurrency in all ~200 countries, and for speakers of all 7,139 known living languages in them, backed by most of their central banks, and for all 7.9 billion people, each a Wikidata Pin#, and to end poverty, via UBI experiments, and create a single worldwide cryptocurrency (while all the others move to 'digital numismatics' ' markets, in new ways?)"

. . .

For your information, CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School is building major online universities in all ~200 countries with online law schools, and in their main languages, and planning to code for all  7.9 billion people, each a Wikidata Pin # and for a variety of reasons, beyond for wiki teachers and learners among speakers of all 7,139 known living languages (and regarding our 2nd legal wing, the WUaS Corporation).

Please know too that the  WUaS Corporation is seeking to list on the new Silicon Valley Long-term stock exchange potentially with Stanford Mine Pi cryptocurrency, and in planning to code for all 7.9 billion people on the planet, to create a single worldwide cryptocurrency backed by most countries' central banks, to end poverty, and grow the WUaS Corporation.

How might we best communicate about this further?

All the best,

Scott

Dear Larry,

Thanks for Stanford's informative and helpful conversation about 'China's Sharp Power in Africa.' Some brainstorming questions I asked (which you may have commented on too) -

1) if in conjunction with Stanford Law Codex, MIT OCW-centric wiki World Univ & Sch could further develop ONLINE LAW SCHOOLs in South Sudan, for each of the countries of the Gulf of Guinea, and in the PRC / China, how could these law schools best train law students in each of these law schools to address these extraction questions in Africa with a long term horizon (say, 10-50) years (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Law_School), and

2) if further, in conjunction with Google Maps, Earth, Street View with TIME SLIDER, WUaS could develop a realistic virtual earth for environment further, how would this help with planning for addressing these issues (https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForOceans?src=hashtag_click and https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch/status/1262080382846918657?s=20), and

3) If Stanford Mine Pi cryptocurrency came to become a world currency in most of ~200 countries, how could this help with the oil and fishing extraction, and China, issues you're touching on? Here’s Stanford Mine Pi - https://minepi.com/sgkmac which people can begin to mine daily - https://minepi.com/sgkmac.   Thank you, Scott (sgkmacleod@worlduniversityandschool.org OCW.MIT.EDU-centric https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch)
Thank you so much!

I couldn't find any of the other presenters' emails, and wonder if you might potentially share these questions with them - and regarding an unfolding conversation in these regards too. Giant granadilla - Passiflora quadrangularis: Hi Nontheist Friends, In reference to the God-word as a connector ... I was just at a Stanford Law School event yesterday to hear a talk about "How Can We Protect the Internet Against Surveillance?," A lot of hungry bellies to feed in the world, and I observed that even with such hunger, many people in the developing world - the poor part of the world - have mobile phones, in my experience, Seeking high achieving online undergraduate students for free, MIT OCW-centric WUaS

Hi Nontheist Friends,

In reference to the God-word as a connector ...

I was just at a Stanford Law School event yesterday to hear a talk about "How Can We Protect the Internet Against Surveillance?" by Australian Peter Eckersley of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF - https://www.eff.org/) in San Francisco. You'll find his slide presentation here - https://www.eff.org/files/surveillance-todos.pdf - as well as here at the Surveillance page at WUaS - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Surveillance ... see too the WUAS "Privacy" and "Security" pages for this and other resources from Eckersley and others.

Peter's and the EFF's message is protect oneself online as much as possible, with the above steps, such as downloading https-everywhere -https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere .

At the end of the talk, an African American minister came up to ask Peter a question in person, as is the custom at Stanford Law events for interested individuals, and he asked what the ethics are at the EFF ... libertarian, progressive, legal ... were three answers, and Peter said that personally he is a consequentialist, in a utilitarian tradition.

I had asked a question earlier about how I assume the "Nation State" always wins vis-a-vis security and surveillance questions and the individual or citizen, how a hypothetical MIT top programmer can theoretically outcode or hack most privacy technologies, and when the "Nation State" or such programmers can't penetrate, for example, TOR or https:// , the State (e,g, the US, Sweden or Japan etc.) has thought through various approaches to deal with such contingencies. I also assume all 242 Nation States ( http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Nation_States ) talk with one another in one way or another vis-a-vis such internet surveillance questions ... probably in very very haphazard ways ... but theirs is the winning discourse ... My question was, given these ASSUMPTIONS, how does Peter see the conversation between these nation states developing? He mentioned metaphorically the "Treaty of Westphalia" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_of_Westphalia - where the sovereignty of principalities as emergent nation states triumphed over empire in Europe in the early 1600s.

I gave Peter a Quaker-informed MIT OCW-centric World University and School flyer (http://scottmacleod.com/WUaSFlyerArchive.html) and mentioned WUaS's plans for law schools in all 242 countries where WUaS faculty would teach about such questions in courses, as well as talk amongst each other across languages and countries ... with an interest in networking with him vis-a-vis Australia and especially in terms of all the Aboriginal languages in Australia - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Languages - with WUaS's plans for developing wiki schools in all 7,105 languages; Wikipedia is in more than 300 languages and MIT OCW is in at least 8 non-English languages (http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/translated-courses/), by way of comparison.

Later outside the room at the foot of the main stairwell near Rm 280b, I started to talk with the minister, Pastor George Murray, and mentioned Friendly-informed World University and School, free degrees, the possibility of anyone teaching to their web camera at WUaS, and our seeking high achieving high school students next autumn.

I also mentioned how I was active with Quakers in SF, but not that I was active with NtFs.

An African American minister at Stanford Law, he went on to say praise God a number of times in a number of ways, as a manner of connecting and vis-a-vis WUaS, gave me his card, said his church in the US is the largest African American church in the country, and that he would like to collaborate in any way possible. I said I'd add him to the WUaS monthly business meeting email list.

He had also said there are a lot of hungry bellies to feed in the world, and I observed that even with such hunger, many people in the developing world - the poor part of the world - have mobile phones, in my experience, and also that it would be interesting to complement satiating a hunger for food with satiating the hunger for knowledge-generation and education and the benefits this brings to societies.

But I didn't say I question the language of God, the divine etc ... because I think I understood where he was coming from, and his well-being, with his God language, and he where I was coming from, having mentioned being active with Quakers, as well as my sharing about Friendly-informed WUaS with open wiki schools in all languages, and with free university degrees planned for large languages, and all of this especially for the developing world.

I was amazed by the insight gleaned from our conversation that God is such a connecting word for some, for many ... for some African Americans, as well as for some whites, and many others in the Rainbow of this world, in this country, and in some other parts of the world ... and I'd like to affirm such connecting possibilities for sharing good will, while continuing to develop nontheistically Friendly thinking, and in conversation.

I'm going to stay in touch with Reverend (Superintendent and Pastor) George Murray, potentially in seeking high achieving online undergraduate students for free, MIT OCW-centric WUaS, among other things. And perhaps Pastor Murray might come into conversation with NtFs on this email list, or even in this NtF wiki school at WUaS ... http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Nontheist_Friends_(atheist_Quakers%3F) .

Friendly regards,
Scott

Mouflon: far-reaching "2014 State of the Valley" talk by Sal Khan recently - fundraising, Pedagogy and the big picture, Sal's teaching to his young cousin is a good example of how YOU can teach on the web and at WUaS in any language, WUaS is looking forward to collaborating with Khan Academy, Google, The Gates Foundation and so many more philanthropic, entrepreneurial organizations, In what ways can WUaS explore and test ways in which Khan Academy pedagogical approaches will work in the developing world differentially in terms of culture and language, and from country to country, and especially vis-a-vis MIT OCW-centric High School, WUaS's free, online IB school first in United Nations' languages, and then possibly in large languages?

Hi Universitians,

Here's a far-reaching "State of the Valley" talk by Sal Khan recently in Silicon Valley summing up Khan Academy, including about their fund-raising (e.g. $10,000 from Ann Doerr, then $100,000 from Ann Doerr, then $2 million from Google and the Gates' Foundation, then ...) and especially pedagogical methods, as well as the big-picture of Khan Academy in terms of the social justice of universal education and the developing world ... Check it out ... This was also on KQED SF 88.5 Thursday evening!

2014 State of the Valley - Salman Khan Keynote Speech

Will add this to WUaS, - and WUaS is looking forward to collaborating with Khan Academy, Google, The Gates Foundation and so many more philanthropic, entrepreneurial organizations.
