Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope you are doing well.

My name is Ramano Bodasing from South Africa, and I am writing to express my interest in enrolling in the Theatre Arts Degree program at World University and School.

I have completed my South African Matric, which is equivalent to a high school diploma. I am passionate about acting and performance, and I aspire to build a career in television and the entertainment industry. I am also interested in using my future platform to advocate for important social justice issues and make a positive impact.

Additionally, I have a background in marketing studies, which I believe will help me grow and manage my personal brand alongside my creative career.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance on how to begin my studies in Theatre Arts, including recommended courses, enrollment steps, and how I can get involved in the program.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.

Kind regards,
Ramano Bodasing

Hi Ramano,

(Romano Bodasing - ramanobodasing7@gmail.com)

The fun of performing the roles one wants to, from home, and theater improvisation too - and now in the information age, and with AI and ML potentially too?

Perhaps WUaS can hire soon, or in some years, Theater faculty to teach this, like -

Hi Romano, All,

As a follow up, I just blogged about this today here -

With some recent communications with Christian Acemah, from Uganda, and Swahili speaker, and head of school at Quaker Olney Friends' School in Barnesville Ohio (https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2026/03/karomia-gigas.html), it's also possible that wiki World Univ & Sch WUaS will develop a free online South Africa World University and School (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nation_States)- https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/South_Africa - for each of all 54 countries, and regarding African high school diplomas for example ... so a South Africa WUaS and regarding -  https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Africa.

Did you know you can wiki-teach and wiki-learn at World University and School in English beginning now, e.g. in the beginning Theater Arts' wiki Subject/school - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Theater_Arts (from https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects), - and check out the iterating MIT OCW courses too, - simply by clicking edit this page' and, for example, adding a Youtube video of you teaching something you love, or an online resource you find great and instructive, and similar?

Want to join the Monday, April 6, 2026, or M 4/13/26, open WUaS News and Q&A / WUaS Weekly Business Meeting at 10 am Pacific Time, in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is 7pm South Africa time (but please check your time converter)?

Here's the WUaS Agenda for 4 /6/24

Thanks, Ma, for the nice birthday, 2025

Thanks, Ma, for the nice early birthday, on F 12/26/2025 re W 12/31/25 when I'll have returned to the SF Bay Area.

Hi Ma,

Thanks much for the nice birthday celebration, the yummy food, and the Darwin card ...

And thanks for the Charles Darwin image cut out card, with the baby chimpanzee (Pan troglodyte, I think) on his left shoulder, the raven on his arm, the fish fossil in his left hand, the notebook in his right pocket and his right hand with long fingers on his balding head, his tie, and his lapel button (is that a fossilized creature encapsulated in green possibly?)

And for the stickers with words on them and stickers inside, which read -

"I love fools' experiments. I am always making them."

happy birthday!

I Love You

Congratulations!

Keep fit!

words you wrote on the Darwin images' cut out legs :

Happy

Birthday

To Scott:

Love from Ma

On the back

Charles Darwin
February 12, 1809 - April 19, 1882

"I have called this principle, by which each slight variation, if useful, is preserved, by the term Natural Selection..."

English naturalist Charles Darwin developed the concept now called "Darwinism" to explain evolution. Through "natural selection," when an organism develops advantageous genetic traits, it survives to pass these on to offspring. Organisms that cannot adapt do not survive, and their traits die with them.

These views sparked a controversy in Darwins' time that rages to this day among humans, although other animals do not seem to be much bothered by his ideas.

Was Darwin considered a fool in his time? (See PS below ...)

{And how in a theater or theatrical setting (learn from examples from Shakespeare or French Comedy D'Arte) to play the fool on a stage or on web video theatrically ... and even with my tie dye baseball cap over the Santa Claus hat I've been wearing? ... start talking to these hats ? :))

Heading off to California soon!

See you soon!

Love,
Scott

PS

I asked Google AI -

Was Darwin considered or called a fool often or at times?

Charles Darwin was not generally considered or called a fool by the scientific community during his lifetime, but he did face significant criticism and was the target of insults by religious opponents. Ironically, Darwin himself and his friends used the nickname "Stultis the Fool" in a self-deprecating way to refer to his habit of performing unusual experiments that others might consider "fruitless" or foolish.
Contemporary Perception
  • General Reception: By the time of his death in 1882, Darwin was highly regarded and considered the greatest scientist of his age. His theory of evolution through common descent was widely accepted within the scientific community, though natural selection took longer to become the central mechanism.
  • Criticism: The controversy surrounding Darwin's work was primarily due to its conflict with deeply held religious beliefs, as it implied life had developed through natural processes without a divine creator in a direct, hands-on capacity. Opponents, particularly some religious figures and creationists, rejected his theory and sometimes used demeaning language, though direct personal insults calling him a "fool" often or as a primary criticism were less common than attacks on his ideas as "ludicrous" or "absurd".
  • Scientific Debate: Within the scientific community, the initial reception of his theory included healthy debate and some objections, such as the lack of a satisfactory theory of heredity at the time, but this was part of the rigorous scientific process and not a dismissal of Darwin as a person.
The Nickname "Stultis the Fool"
The most direct link to the term "fool" comes from Darwin himself. His closest friends called him "Stultis the Fool" (Stultis meaning "fool" in Latin), but this was an affectionate nickname. It stemmed from:
  • His "special affection for what he called 'Fool's experiments,'" such as testing if worms responded to musical vibrations or how long snails could stick to a duck's foot.
  • His willingness to pursue lines of inquiry that conventional wisdom might dismiss as silly or a waste of time, which ultimately led to significant discoveries.
In conclusion, while his ideas were highly controversial and criticized, Darwin himself was largely respected by his peers. The term "fool" was used by him and his friends in a specific, endearing context related to his experimental methodology.
